“He played well against Malta”
The most English national team statement ever spoken.
Liverpool played well va toulouse yes? Typical plastic club fan
Honestly this was one of my favourite Saturday social videos, prefer any national team video to premier league
Trent balled out while everyone around him played like they an average footballer AGAINST MALTA!!
Who plays well against Malta? Foden?
None was performing well based on creativity and ball driven. If Malta didn't made the own goal and defender mistake for Kane goal then the score should be 0-0.
Marcelo Bielsa will take England win morethan 5-0 with the squad.
Without Bellingham, England is basically like a body without its soul.
The disrespect to Tomori who is a league champion and CL semi-finalist being compared to almost anyone who has merely played 'promisingly' in the PL is crazy

No point in doing this. Southgate will pick his favourites regardless

But that is true for all of these lists/shows. No one who has the real power watched these kind of content and make decisions from it. Its just for us to debate.
Why doesnt musiala play??
JWP is a sensational player in the form of his life, the fact that he’s not getting called up over Henderson is a crime
And weve been set piece merchants on numerous occasions, despite the talent on display. JWP could end up player of the tournament if we return to that again
@@benmorris118can’t take free kicks from the bench
He can do everything Hendo does and is the best dead ball specialist in England. Scoring goals in open play at tournaments is tough as teams are very well organised, set pieces can make all the difference.
People will think it boring but you don't win tournaments with free flowing attacking football. You win them by being solid and taking your chances when they come.
I'd play JWP next to Rice in a double pivot, with attack minded fullbacks (James and Chilwell).
@@rikachu571no point comparing him to Henderson when neither of them will even play if they make the squad, if Declan rice gets injured one of either hendo or Phillips will have to play the 6 role coz nobody else can. I don’t mind JWP but he’s career peak will be him playing for a team like west ham with that system.
@@rikachu571 Agree with everything there, but JWP won't play much anyway and Henderson is a big captain and has a lot of experience under his belt. He's far more experienced and less liable to makes when holding onto a game than JWP towards the end when we need fresh legs.
Ruben Loftus Cheek tearing it up for AC Milan and not even getting a mention is a bit ridiculous
I don’t think he’ll get a shout considering the talent we have in midfield
@@Duddy8822 I think it's more about playing in the Prem.

I feel for Tomori.
Strange that Ben White hasn't been mentioned, but it might be due to the potential backlash from the public and media on Southgate's already and increasingly pressure-filled position; Don't like him much as a guy (can't judge much really), but White can simultaneously provide RB and RCB depth without wasting spaces. I'd take walker (white or trippier as back up), stones (white as back up), Maguire (colwill as back up), shaw (tripper/colwill as back up) and that's the defence sorted. You've got 1. good rotation for players at the end of games, 2. certain better 'on the ball options' when playing more expansively vs the weaker sides in the group stage, 3. providing the young players with experience), 4. not many places taken up.
white isn't a proper fullback. White is more defensive and trent is better at attacking
Turns out he hasn’t made himself available.
I do enjoy the knowing looks exchanged between Zac and Joe every once in a while when someone says something ridiculous like "Bowen can play the Madders role"
Tomori probably one of the better defender these past years, dosent get called because we plays in italy, players like guehi, dunk, maguire, mings, get alot of recognition and shouts just because they play in the prem, when they are clearly worse.
Mings hasn’t even been mentioned in this video, he was amazing last season, and he should be fit for the euros, he’s got England experience and is a leader for his team at the back and is amazing in terms of speed strength and aerial duels, hes got it all and not even a mention of him, it’s criminal
Depends on how Sterling is performing in future matches, as for Rashford, he needs improvement
For me Raheem should be the player southgate picks instead of form over Phillips and Maguire

He doesn't seem to get on with the squad though, so that might be a big factor (for Southgate at least).
@@TheGuyWithNoName001 Fair point. I mean England do not have depth in CB. I appreciate he’s RB at AFC, but he is a CB and for me one of Englands best. Can cover RB and links well with Rice and Saka. Incredibly consistent too.
Should've been mentioned but still doesn't get on the plane. If Stones is starting (which he will) you'd rather play someone who's used to playing on the left next to him. Why play Ben White who plays RB for his club at LCB when you have Colwill, Tomori and Guehi all as options. It's not like any of them are significantly worse than White. A Colwill-Stones Tomori-Stones or Guehi-Stones partnership would be solid.
And White definitely doesn't start RB for us. He's great but Walker, James and Trippier are better and each of them has a slightly different skillset that would be useful for different situations. I see no situation where we'd need White because he has something the others don't. Harsh on him but you have to be ruthless. You only have a 23 man squad.

Jude Bellingham through the middle at his preffered no. 10 role, where he is in-form for Real Madrid. If TAA is injured, or they are to play double pivotm then either Gallagher or Stones works again. Phil Foden should play on the Left Wing with Saka on the Right. Harry Kane goes at Striker, obviously. What they lack is a backup RW unless Foden plays at RW, if Saka is injured, with Rashford on the left. Ollie Watkins goes as the backup striker. Madders or Mason depending on what they can do in next 100 days, and Palmer as a super sub.

It‘s crazy to me how on the one hand there is such a strong bias towards players from the PL, but on the other hand they choose not to pick the 3rd best goal scorer of the whole league (Jarod Bowen). Choosing Rashford instead makes absolutely no sense.
Hello, how are you doing? I hope you’re having a great day so far👋how’s your weekend too. God bless you🙏🙏
Go and Cry then 😂😂
Rashford should go and start in big tournament games because international teams, especially england, score goals in transition and counterattack. International teams don't have the time to prepare tactically concise strategies, so high possession football breaking down low blocks to score in tournaments is a bad strategy.
This is even more important given England's players and considering our strengths and weaknesses against other competing strong sides like France or Argentina because we must beat those teams to win tournaments.
England has an excellent low block defence with powerful cbs, declan rice, and Kyle walker, so england should be comfortable playing out of possession against top sides.
Assuming that our world class ball winning midfielders bellingham and rice do what they are so good at, we can imagine many situations where england wins the ball back on the edge of the box with the potential for transitional counterattack.
It's worth pointing out that our midfield is literally perfect for this owing to players such as Shaw, TAA, Maddison, bellingham, and Kane. Therefore it would be a crime to not play foden or preferably rashford because they are excellent at dribbling into the box at high speeds and scoring goals after a counterattack. Form is important but it isn't everything, rashford is a great player and if you put him in his dream positions his isn't going to disappoint.

Tarkowski no way 😂😂😂
@@obinnamadichie does everything Maguire does mate. But I agree out of the two it will be Branthwaite.
How come every time this show happens people cannot organize the board at all 😂😂😂😂
Didn’t realise that Max was a secret agent looking for England to lose
My England squad Pickford, Pope, Ramsdale in Goal, White, Alexander-Arnold, Tripper, Stones, Maguire, Walker, and Tomori, Defenders, Palmer, Maddison, Bellingham, Saka, Rice, Rashford, Gordan, Midfielders, Kane, Watkins, Solanke, Foden and Toney Forwarders. but i wouldn't be surprised if Ward-Prowse went instead of Gordan, and if two missed out it would be Rashford and Tomori.
This argument that Maguire never let’s England down is crazy
20:35 "We've got a lot of players like Marcus Rashford in the team"... then lists players who are not like Rashford.
The sad thing is they are better than Rashford
They are better
Maby tino livramento he is incredible for newcastle and can play both sides aswell as right mid to a degree
Despite saying 'pick your best 23, not who Southgate will pick', a lot of the arguments & justifications for picks were based on who Southgate would pick.
Hello, how are you doing? I hope you’re having a great day so far👋how’s your weekend too. God bless you🙏🙏
the stupid thing about the jwp or rico lewis argument is southgate will not pick either of them for the euros imo he will pick his favourites over in form players as per🤣 its irrelevant what the fans think really at this point 🤣
this is exactly why england will never bring it ‘home’ 😂😂

When will Southgate realise what a fantastic play tomori is. Easily would start in my euro squad for me.
Over who?
Palmer is being overlooked here. I think he will continue to have a big season and deservedly get on the plane.
Over who exactly?

@@Iam_andredan The 6 players in the RW CAM and LW spots should be Saka, Foden, Bellingham, Palmer, Sterling, Rashford. So that's Grealish, Maddison, Bowen, Eze, and Mount who would miss out from the recent squads.
@@josephcole8046 how is Palmer getting in and madders and Grealish are not? Only a chelsea fan would agree with that
If you deep it with jwp he might only have the chance to go to this tourney and the next world cup maybe, purely due to his age profile but lets hope he performs well well into his thirties
Aaron. Wan. Bissaka. Is. One. Of. The. Most. Underrated. England. Players.
3 minutes in and they forgot the objective - who you want, not what southgate is picking. 😅
As a United fan. Rashford out and Sterling in would make a lot of sense
Sterling is way better than rashford. He's a much better big game player
@@nadirabdelnour756 well, he’s in much better form at the moment anyway. Rashford has been a big game player over the years- somethings not right with him this season.
this guy that keeps bringinng up what southgate would do ......... :D
Hello, how are you doing? I hope you’re having a great day so far👋how’s your weekend too. God bless you🙏🙏
Safegate will not take Reece James, Colwill or Shaw (if he's injured). In Safegate's mind he'll take instead of those three: Hendo, Tomori and Dunk. Safegate may also take Phillips instead of Gallagher (though this would be incorrect). I'd take Ward-Prowse instead of Rashford. His freekick accuracy is too good to keep stuck at home.
Rico Lewis needs to be in the squad he is a brilliant young player (Coming from a GOONER 😂)
this why england can't win a trophy, how could you take rashford ,the man with 1 goal in premier league and left bowen, the man with 8 goals in premier league

i don’t get why they’re talking like england are gonna concede possession to everyone, with the players we have we’ll be dominating the ball. Our main 4 midfielders im assuming will be jude, rice, maddison and trent, all 4 of those play in possession dominating teams. Then our front 3 will consist of kane, sterling, saka, rashford, foden, grealish other than rashford they all play in top teams. Then obviously stones at the back and pickford are good on the ball, essentially the whole team will be used to dominating the ball bar a couple of players so unless we play spain, brazil or france maybe we’ll have more possession and even against them i’d back us to have more just cus they might have a couple dodgy players on the ball
