No manager in history will leave out a midfielder who scores 20 goals every season, goals win games
Agreed. But it would be crazy to leave out de bruyne either. I'd probably play Rodri, De Bruyne and Lampard.
And no manager in history would leave out a midfielder who provides 25 assists per season and scores in big games

@@tuneswarriors5874 Makelele over Rodri tbh. Rodri scores more from DM but with this combined XI you won't need those goals. In terms of the traditional responsibilities of a holding midfield player, Makelele was better for me. Those Chelsea defences in the mid 2000s were so good not just because of the backline and keeper but because of Makelele. And can you imagine if Makelele was coached by Guardiola? That would've been an unbelievable midfield.

Drogba was a big part of the reason why Chelsea conceded so few goals when Mourinho came. In an era where everyone was playing with strike partnerships up front, Drogba had the presence, power, and pace to lead that Chelsea line alone, which gave them an extra body in midfield and made the 1-0's and 2-0's possible. sergio had to adapt himself in order to play for pep he scored tons of goals playing in counterattacking style and adapted possession and still was a beast
@coreyblakee332 The big game thing was a bit of a myth, Chelsea's biggest games in the league every season were against United, and his record against them was awful
I could argue Aguero could score a greater variety of goals than Drogba. Aguero was a very physical striker and was very good in the air and could also bully defenders. One thing Drogba couldn't do is dribble past a defence, which is what Aguero could do and did so on multiple occasions.

@@raymondflores1583 hazard was one of the best talents of his generation and that won't change. Many people have said that he was a top 5 player in the 18/19 season considering how good he was whilst carrying a mid chelsea team. That season he got 2nd highest motms behind Messi and highest assists in Europe's top 5 leagues. He has 3rd highest motm awards from 2009 to 2019 behind messi and ronaldo. This revisionism on hazard is a joke just cause of his struggles at Real madrid. People appreciate Neymar's time at Santos but very few people talk about hazard at lille when he carried them to a double aged 20. He helped them win their first title since 1954, carried chelsea for years, and for Belgium he put in top class performances at the 2018 world cup and was voted 2nd best player behind modric. Longevity isn't just about what you do in your 30's, players who peaked early can also count towards longevity. From 2008 to 2019 he had 10 great seasons out of 11. The amount of individual accolades he picked up in his career is crazy. Let's be real, in Hazard's prime, the top 2 were definitely Messi and CR7. But on the tier of players below, Hazard was most certainly there when at his best. Lots of pundits and football experts and rival fans believe that. He finished 6th in UEFA player of the year in 2015, and 7th in FIFA best player in 2018. In the UEFA award only 5 players were voted best player in europe ahead of hazard in 2015 (Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Ronaldo, Buffon). That speaks volumes as to how good he was

i used to think the same but if you put rodris position as holding mid no way. idk if rodri is holding, box to box or attacking mid but he is amazing.
Kante plays better in a 2 man pivot, Rodri can sit as a lone 6 and has better distribution than Kante.
@@Cdlee-oo9hn Rodri has to do less. He's won more because he plays for City under Pep. And he's very very good at what he's asked to do. But Pep's one of the greatest managers ever and he's created a system in which Rodri has a very specific role. Kante was someone who didn't benefit from being in a perfect system and having a specific role. He just had crazy individual ability and raised the level of every team/midfield imhe played in. Ranieri's Leicester, Dechamp's France, Conte's Chelsea, Tuchel's Chelsea etc. Different managers, different teams, different systems. Doesn't matter who he played for or with the guy just mopped everything up in midfield and made the jobs of his teammates so much easier. That's why Pogba looked like a completely different player for France and United. It's all about Kante's individual ability. With Rodri at City you just have to remember he's playing for one of the greatest managers ever, in the perfect conditions in a safe 433 alongside other players that know their roles inside out too. Still a world class player but Kante was another level.

The midfield for this is insanely difficult in fairness. Rodri, Kante, Yaya, Lampard, KDB, David Silva, Bernardo would all be completely reasonable shouts. You could probably even make a case for Essien and Ballack as well.
Wouldn't say there's a case for Ballack purely because he doesn't even get in a Chelsea all time midfield. I'd have Lampard, Makelele, Kante, Essien and even Fabregas over him. Ballack was unreal but he was only with us for 4 seasons and I'd say his peak was at Leverkusen and Munich. He's a victim of not playing for 1 club for most of his career. So he may not get in many combined 11s.

Carvalho won back to back league titles with Porto. Culminating in a famous CL victory against all odds. He then goes on to dominate the PL for a few years as part of an elite defensive unit, but we're going with Kompany. That adds up.
Yeah and he also did well at Real Madrid….He is truly underrated
@@multikaspergaming2348 Exactly. He was an elite defender who did it in multiple leagues.
Oh wow he won the Portuguese league with Porto.
Oh wow he was given a CL medal for winning a EuropaLeague pathway after cheating ManUtd in R16 with the Scholes offside yer played ONside by 4 Porto players. Oh wow he won PL's with Chelsea who bought the league yet still lost it 3 should've been 4 years in a row and he never won CL with Chelski or RealMadrid etc...
@FootkerSnookball And yet, despite all that, he achieved more than Kompany. If you're gonna say that Chelsea bought the league, then you have to say the same for City and by extension, Kompany, so my point still stands. The numbers and the trophies still put Carvalho ahead of Kompany. Your observations don't negate my point, but you'd have to be smart to notice that. Lastly, how many CL titles did Kompany win again?
@multikaspergaming2348 Did he do well at RealMadrid?? 1 LaLiga in 3 seasons especially with Cristiano in the team is the bare minimum RealMadrid expect. As a defender you only have to concentrate on that when you've got the attacking players they had so he obviously didn't do his job that well plus he lost 5-0 to Barca and like with his time at Chelsea he didn't win the CL there either.
If Drogba took penalties, Haaland would have the second best goal scoring season in the Premier League btw.
Azpilicueta not being mentioned is mental.
Arguably the best right back in Premier League history, let alone combined City/Chelsea XI
Cap😂😂maybe top 5....trent walker n phil are ahead of him
Maybe Drogba once rescued Rory's family from a burning building or something; Or maybe Aguero was the one that lit that building on fire. That's the only rationale I can come up with for the last 2 striker debates I have seen from him. His 10 other shouts were pretty good. Rodri close to eclipsing Yaya potentially, but Lamps is nailed on. Final combined team was probably as close to "correct" as they could have gotten.
I've seen players like Matic dominate Yaya Toure in a midfield battle over multiple games. I've never seen a player dominate a fit Ngolo Kante. Kante replaces Toure in that midfield for me.

Midfield 3 is the toughest one. You have to choose between Makelele, Kante, Rodri, Yaya, KDB, Lampard and D.Silva
Love your unique style, never change!
How on earth is zola not in the convo ?
Why would he be??? 😂
Because when they think of Chelsea in PL era all they remember is Abramovich takeover. Most Chelsea fans especially internationally became fans in early 2005.
@@jacob4690 zola gets ahead of any player on that sheet, and he played with this geezer called Diego in Napoli.
@@sandrofarrugia9214 how does he? Those players are all league winners
Cause he’s not good enough, he’s Rory’s favourite player and when he’s up against buvey he knows he can’t bs zola in it
Cech
Walker-Carvalho-Terry-Cole
Lampard-Kanté-De Bruyne
D. Silva
Drogba-Hazard
Difficult to leave Agüero out, but you have to take Drogba. Big game player. Drogba's hold up play and Hazard as his strike partner would be a joy to watch.
David Silva has to make the team. World class player for over ten years, what a career.
Lampard and KDB are easy picks, can't take any XI without them both seriously. I chose Kanté as my fourth midfielder as he could dominate three men midfields on his own. Incredible player at his peak, his energy was through the roof. Makelele, Essien, Rodri and Touré unlucky to miss out.
I' m not going to lie, defenders were easy to pick. Walker is the best Prem rightback alongside Gary Neville. Carvalho and Terry the most dominant centrehalf duo in the Prem history, Kompany was good but nah, I wouldn't take him over Carvalho or Terry, no way. Ashley Cole is a tap in.
Cech in goal is probably the easiest pick here. Incredible keeper for a long time. Ederson might be better with a ball at his feet, but that's it. I'm taking Cech for big games every single time. Courtois and Hart solid keepers, too, but it's Cech and that's that.
If you’re doing that formation Aguero gets in over Hazard. Hazard is not a striker
Cech
Walker-Terry-kompany-cole
Lampard-Toure(or kante)-KDB
Hazard-Drogba(or aguero)-David Silva
cech
walker , terry & carvalho(kompany might have been the better player but as duo no) , cole
KDB, rodri , lampard
bernardo silva , haaland(i believe he's gonna surpass augero and drogba),hazard
haaland 😂
@@echoes1250Haaland broke the prem record, he's valid.
Tbf if you say Carvalho over Kompany because of the duo with Terry, shouldn’t you put Gundogan or Bernardo over Lampard? Because that treble winning midfield trio is one of the best midfields in the history of football
That’s my team too.
Haaland over Aguero is a joke. If Aguero had those chances Haaland had he would have scored 5 goals.
Aguero >>>>>>>> Haaland
That dude saying KDB is head and shoulders above Lamps, Gerrard and Scholes probably started watching football since 2016 or smtg
KDB is miles clear….People tend to hype up players that played back in the days…
@@multikaspergaming2348 miles better? Bro u tripping
Accept the facts dude. As an Arsenal fan KDB is the nightmare all I experienced these all years of my life. Don't be nostalgic. He is miles ahead of Steve G and 2nd best player after Henry. @@zisolo4283
May aswell just make it a rule that the CB’s have to be one from each team cause no matter the argument it always ends up 1 a piece.
Rodri and Lampard should be stable on this team. Both are consistently flawless in their roles. And can do the things more than 6 and 8 respectively. For 3rd place in midfield De Bruyne because of effectiveness.
Cech
Walker Terry Kompany Cole
Yaya Kante
Lampard DeBruyne Hazard
Drogba
Thats complete now.
How is David not there
And Drogba over Aguero?
Shite team
Rory is box-office material!
As a man city fan I apologise for his actions.Firstly Rodri has not eclipsed lampard yet. Then a possible arguement for the lw would have probably been sterling or even david silva as a false winger.Sterling does have more ga then hazard. But I would just edge it to hazard. But grealish in his 2 years is an absolute joke.
I love Aguero but people (including the panel here) forget Drogba had 2 premier league golden boots. Aguero only had his golden boot in a Leicester title winning season when the other teams were rubbish.
Drogba also had higher number of goals in a single season. He wasn’t just a big game player but a key contributing factor to premier league titles and other titles. Don’t ever sleep on Drogba!
Prem watchers forgetting Marcelo exists lmao
If u talking bout Premier League era:
Cech.
Walker, Terry, Kompany, Cole.
Lampard, KDB, David.
Hazard, Aguero, Sterling.
Cech, Cole, Terry, Carvallho, Walker. Midfield Makelele, Lampard and KDB. Attack Hazard, Drogba and Aguero.
Sterling 😂😂😂😂
Sterling over Zola is insane. David Silva was brilliant but there were a few midfielders I'd take over him. Makelele, Kante, Toure all for me. By the time he retires Rodri too but obviously people won't like it because of Silva's legacy. If you ask me who I'd rather take in my team I'd honestly take Rodri. And he's still got years left. Silva was a beautiful footballer but he gets overrated because he was one of City's first World class players. There's really not a huge difference between him and Bernado. But Bernado gets compared to all the world class players in City's current squad.
Lampard and De Bruyne are shoo ins. 3rd pick is probably Kante for me.
David on the wing and Yaya in midfield
@@MCFCReacts why have Yaya when there is Essien
DeBruyne clears Lampard at CAM and Lamard couldn’t play CM well (England had him there and he didnt shine)
Rodri is impossible to miss out after the Treble win, his performances last season were all time great.
Id you’re making a once-off best midfield the list would be:
1. KDB
2. Makelele
3. Yaya
4. Silva
5. Lampard
6. Kante
7. Gundogan
8. Essien
Lampard goes in based on longevity… but individual quality on a technical level he’s not ahead of KDB/Yaya/Silva…
Joe and Rory’s trims are shocking
Cech (Schmichael chlose tho), Cole, Terry, Kompany, Walker, De Bruyne, Kante, Lampard (Sorry Yaya), Hazard, Aguero, Drogba
I know my midfield is controversial, Rodri and Yaya could easily swap with the others, and my front 3 doesn't really work, but yeah.
Schmeichel?? Wrong Manchester team there buddy 😅
@@mardanhar82 He played for city though? I mean he wasn't great there though, so I shouldn't add him but he technically counts. But then Salah could also be in the side.
Raheem Sterling not mentioned anywhere by the way, what an underrated player
Carvalho was the best CB out of them all.
Jack Grealish is probably the worst LW City have ever had since state ownership and doesn't even make his own team's starting 11 over 2 mediocre LWs. Magic = diving and passbacks.💀
Foden and Doku are not mediocre.
@@CristanioPeweyyy Doku is a massively mediocre dribble merchant. Foden hasn't been playing off the left because of KDB injury. Im talking about Bobb as the other LW.
I’d take Sterling at Man City over Grealish
