You enjoyed the tunes and how Incubus rocked when you were young. You realize and appreciate the poetry in the lyrics of their songs when you grow old.
Someone very close to me took their life almost 11 years ago this month. I remember this song coming on the radio on the drive home from the funeral and listening to the words for the first time. I listened to this song often during that very difficult period. It gave me a lot of the hope I needed to move forward. This is a great tune! For anyone feeling alone out there remember pain is temporary and there is always hope and support out there. It's our responsibility to find it.
I cry everytime I hear this song. It was my friend's favorite song. He died back in 2017 in a bad car crash. I was there with him. We were listening to this exact song when a drunk driver swerved right into us, running is off the road. He died upon collision and I suffered a concussion. Now I cry when I hear this song because it's associated with a traumatic event in my life-- losing someone whom I considered a brother. 😔
Aqueous Transmission by Incubus was the song that defined the very beginning of my friendship with my late best friend and soul brother 'Shaggy' (Kevin Arus-Altuz according to his state ID but of course no one ever called him that lol). We lost him in November 2012. He died suddenly at his parents home one night from an adverse reaction to an illicit research chemical/drug. It devastated everyone who knew him, because he wasn't a heavy drug user or addict. It was just a 'wrong turn at Albuquerque' that unfortunately took him straight to an early grave. Way too early. After that, our song and all the lyrics took on an even deeper meaning. It went from a sad break-up song to one about devastating loss but still holding onto hope, so now I'm doing my best to stay on this river journey called Life as long as possible, praying when I reach the end that Shaggy will be waiting on the shore to greet me, and I can finally give him all the memories and stories I've been collecting for him. Whenever I fall apart and the grief starts to set in and shut me down, I play Aqueous Transmission and it helps me smile again. Or at least not cry all day. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and what you went through. Hang in there :) *edit: I also survived a near fatal car crash when a drunk driver in 2008 smashed the car I was in 500 ft down the road and into a ditch. He hit my side (front passenger) with his 2 ton Chevy at 50mph. Never hit the brakes. You survived that crash for a reason. Just like I did. Even if we can never really know why or how. Or why we we're the ones who got to stay, but our friends didn't get to. But my point is this, we still have the rest of our lives to try and figure those questions out. I'll be praying for you, and wish you all the best.
I'm sorry. No offense but your 50 and say dope? I'm 32 and the first time I heard the reference I know that was a phrase for people that either do or want to hang out with the cool kids at the mall... Buahah Sorry but... man, this errands is not one that should catch the old gens and influence anyone... period...
Exactly!! I know we're getting older, but too many have been taken from us at such a young age. I am just grateful that we got to hear & experience it all.
We live in a world of moral relativism where there is no objective good or bad so you arent allowed to have any strong stance one way or another unless it is blind "acceptance" and "there is no correct way"... we are godless, we are lost.

I have “10:24” tattooed on my knuckles. When I was younger my dad and I loved this song (and still do). Whenever I was stressed about something small/losing sight of the larger picture, he’d whisper “10:24” as a reminder to refocus/recenter myself. Whenever I see my hand it brings a smile to my face and puts me in a better headspace
also, "the frog oblivious" The boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly. Like the creeping dangers of leftism. Orwell had it right.
Grew up on Incubus; and now, at age 33, going through a break up after 8 years together, I am experiencing Incubus again, as if it were the first time. Lyrics hitting differently & the same 15+ years later.
"Love ourselves before it's made illegal" This line hits so damn hard, especially because of how often we as individuals tend to have already made self-love "illegal"
I've been to countless concerts in my day and disturbed and Incubus are literally the only two bands that sound exactly like their album. Very talented artists all the way around.
This is by far the best incubus song. They were so musically connected with eachother song. They could have not made it any better. This song has made me not want to throw away my life, and just live it. It is beautiful in every which way.
One of the most amazing pieces of music I have ever or will ever hear. Incubus weren't just in the zone during this period, they were in another dimension
+Matthew Jenkins It's sad that the people who need to hear that will never understand it, and the ones that do will be left wondering why its such a rare thought
My favorite song on this album! Makes me think of my aunt who spent her life caring for others and never really got to live for herself. I try to live a good life and have fun for us both now.
Whew, the lyrics to this song hit so different at the age of 38. Please young people don't be afraid to go out there and take chances at a young age. Don't let the opportunities and 'life pass you by.' It honestly goes by so fast.
“She woke in the morning” I tripped on acid the other night and listened to this song. I’ve listened to this song since I was a kid. And it wasn’t until then that line could be interpreted as “she woke in the mourning” Mourning for her life that had passed her by. Song got even deeper after that.
This song used to make me feel like the world was so full of beauty and possibilities when I was 18. It gets ugly quick if ur not careful. I still enjoy the peace and good memories of those times. I hope to make new memories at 41
I took this song to heart as a kid. Now in my 30s, I still take this message to heart. I meet so many people my age who wish that they had left their hometown and took a chance with turning their hobby into a business. Hell, I even meet people my age who regret never having an unnatural hair color or getting a tattoo. When I say ‘you still have time,’ they are generally afraid of the change. I am glad I didn’t train myself to stop viewing adventures, learning new skills, and waking up to new beginnings, as anything but exciting. I am aware of the risks and calculate them, vs letting them become excuses to hinder myself. I wish I was wealthy so I could spend my money on new experiences and frequent changes to my routine. Life can be very boring. Even if you are generally really busy, it’s boring doing the same low adrenaline tasks, in the same order, every single day, and we have so much pressure on us to pretend we really are all content with just working, coming home, and watching tv, with no hobbies and little social life outside of family. I’m old now and I’m still not content with the minimum, because I learned early that nobody has to let life pass them by.
My interpretation of the song: We often get caught of in our tedious little lives that we stop taking note of the more important things, rarely stopping to smell the roses. Later on, before you know it, you're 80. You're old, tired and reflecting back on what you would have done differently. Don't be that guy. Stop and enjoy life. Don't let it pass you by.
I intend to get this phrase tattoed: "Don't ever let life pass you by". It's so important to me, I was in really bad times when I heard this song for the first time. And I kept this as a "mantra" to myself, to take control of my life and be brave. And it Works! Im so Glad for this song and for Incubus :)
This song gets more relevant each day. Al development cannot be stopped at this point, and we're all acting like the girl. I'm pretty sure the numbers represent a Bible verse: Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ!
The 2000s was amazing for alternative bands. There were so many and they all had a different style to them which made it enjoyable to listen to. Incubus, Foo Fighters, Switchfoot, 311, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, ect. Nowadays I can't think of any good alternative band since the 2010s, such a shame.
The younger version of me knew these lyrics word for word; Not knowing what they meant until my older age (30's)...Glad my soul knew it was something worth putting on repeat.
I have just been turned on to Incubus and listening to this song has hit a spot in my heart..."She called it a warning, Don't ever let life pass you by!" Turning 52 did make me think, "What meaningful thing have I done in my life to make this world a better place to live in and leave my mark on?"
Who listens in the 2000s and thumb printed the times to get us here? This is a beautiful band that made their way into my personal sound track and many others.
I am happily remarried and we have a perfect little blended family. I no longer have to use substances to get by. Things are great. Thank you for asking. ☺️
@@ChiefWindyCheeks well...I guess it could be interpreted that way lol. But I dont think thatd what was intended, even though songs are always open to interpretation..
I will be 60 in October 2023. Still listening to INCUBUS!!! I grew up with these guys, literally!! ❤❤❤ Jeannie in Lakeport California Feeling like this girl...it's passing me by....
When I was younger, I would hear this song and it would make me focus on being my best self. I hear it today as a 32 year old man, and again, I'm faced with the same feeling.
I was obsessed with this video when it first came out then again incubus was a big part of me when I was growing up. It makes me miss this music era so much, to everyone who grew up to this you know how great it was
inihc same here. Incubus was a huge part of my life during middle school. I remember walking home after school listening to their CD’s on my yellow Discman and just being...comforted I guess is the word I’m looking for? They helped me through a lot...
My daughter, now 19 grew up listening to them and now has gone to see them with me twice out of the five times I’ve seen them and it’s the best feeling. This has come full circle and she understands and feels every lyric, it’s dear to her heart because of her mom.
I just watched my first Incubus concert, and it was a blast! I made sure to sing my heart out specially on this song! This is my favorite Incubus song!
I think incubus should win all the Grammy awards. He's a great singer. All his song are 100% nostalgia. Especially In covid it brings me back when my dad had this on and I would be asleep and it would be midnight. Nostalgia to me.
I fell in love with Incubus at 14 when this song was first played on the (actual) MTV. I felt so touched by it, made me cry everytime. Now at 35, after I've wasted the last 20 years on addiction... its like my 14 yr old self felt my future pain and undertood what was to come 😪
I love Incubus, been a fan of them for a long time. I can ironically sing their songs being a girl and all you would think that it would be impossible for me, but it's actually not with the way my vocal range is designed I can do it.
@@synccrow114 while Incubus definitely had nu metal aspects, it wasn't nu metal as a whole. Morning View is defintely not nu metal. Make Yourself isn't even that nu metal (some songs kinda) the only nu metal albums Incubus had were Fungus Amongus and Science. Even those albums weren't soley nu metal either.
Thank you sirs for writing your songs... I've been in love with you for about 15 years and have never found myself in a spot where this song is more appropriate than now. You really are life changers, future present and past. Honestly, thank you for all you've done!
"Morning View," in my opinion, is Incubus' best album. "Warning" is in the middle of the best songs in it -- even though I can't decide which one is the best...
It hits different when you are older. In my twenties, i thought it was one of the not so interesting songs from incubus and i skipped it a lot on the cd. Now the song is talking to me and makes really sad. Working for years to much in this capitalistic society, being there for people who don't appreciate. So I'm burnt out. My life really passed by and I'm to tired to do something about it or even thinking about what i want or what is possible now.
guerria rebel The great music that has been made is still there..search it out.. there's tons you may have not heard. Try listening to something different too. Even the really old stuff is awesome.
How many people does this young woman represent? How many have wanted to scream at the very institutions that force us to bury our pain, sell our souls, or a combination of the two? Love the video - Very powerful. And don't ever be afraid to find a private space and scream your f**king head off. The right energy will always hear your screams.
Most have been taught to hide and bury our pain, which, by it's very nature, is negative energy that's now stored deep within the hard-drive that is our subconscious. Negative energy is the root cause of many illnesses, and we're just now being taught this. Imagine a world where we share our pain with one another? Where men can share their deepest secrets without the fear of being called a "homo" or "queer" for being mildly vulnerable to his friends, or to society for that matter. Or a world where women never have to fear being emotionally or physically beaten down and are valued as equals, if not valued even to a higher standard for being the very life that conceives, feeds, and nurtures new life. I picture a world where more people will one day hear the screams and come running towards that vibration to join in and release their pain. It's time to take the world back....In fact, it's time to take our own world back.

This song came out 20 years ago. It was great back then and it’s still sound good
Almost foreshadowing what is happening now, imo. 'I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it is made illegal.'
For reference Mozart is over 200 years old and still sounds good
@@Recoveringred so true
@ Joseph Johnson it just turned 20 yrs old this year dude do your homework
“She woke in the morning”
I tripped on acid the other night and listened to this song. I’ve listened to this song since I was a kid. And it wasn’t until then that line could be interpreted as “she woke in the mourning”
Mourning for her life that had passed her by. Song got even deeper after that.
Thanks for the new perspective of the song.
Ohhh dude
Omg yes! Thank you for this!
I just dropped some acid too! Fuck it
Damn dude! Changed the feeling of the song a bit. Also love the power that psychedelics can give you. Deeper level thinking type of stuff
This song used to make me feel like the world was so full of beauty and possibilities when I was 18. It gets ugly quick if ur not careful. I still enjoy the peace and good memories of those times. I hope to make new memories at 41
This song was put out before it’s time. UNDERRATED
Luke 10:24
"For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
wut
@@etthompson1842 it's a bible verse and i think this is related to the song i think im not a serious christian that remembers all verses
I believe it.
YES ❤️🔥🦂🍀🔱💚🌄
Thank you.
This year will be my first show watching incubus live!!!!! Thank you from Malaysia
I started to listen to incubus in 2001. I was 25. Now I’m 46 and still listening. Morning view album is phenomenal
The THOT anthem.
Welcome to the Big Brother Generation Señorita 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wish you were here by pink floyd has a similar message.
It's nice to read someone's take on a song, instead of them quoting the lyrics. W.Graham
Mark Canales catfish and the bottlemen!
Foo Fighters and Switchfoot are still going strong. Linkin Park and Muse are good bands too.
Id go as far to include the latter 90's as well. But that may end up dating me 😊.
All u find is rap this sad bc I’m 12 and everyone wears rap stuff and I have incubus, nirvana, rhcp, and atl shirts on and their like who that
Hopefully, there's a lot of good alt rock bands !
It just takes time and will to find those that suit you !

Your blessed because you made it to 52. Be happy : )
Hey, how are you doing now?
Who listens in the 2000s and thumb printed the times to get us here? This is a beautiful band that made their way into my personal sound track and many others.
This is the song I was listening to the night I decided to get out of a miserable marriage. Don’t ever let life pass you by.
😇✊🕊
I hope you are in a much happier place now. :)
I am happily remarried and we have a perfect little blended family. I no longer have to use substances to get by. Things are great. Thank you for asking. ☺️
@@jessc250 That's great to hear. Everyone deserves to be happy 😊
That sounds sad to me right now as I am listening to Incubis.💐
I suggest we learn to love ourselves before its made illegal....
Truthest thing I've ever heard!
i swear i thought its should learn to love ourselves before its being legal
Poetic way of saying... "have a wank"
@@ChiefWindyCheeks well...I guess it could be interpreted that way lol. But I dont think thatd what was intended, even though songs are always open to interpretation..
@@yuli8796 so true lol
Yess!! Facts!!
This song always gives me chills
That airy, yet dense sound they invented still fucks me up to this day.
I saw Incubus last Thursday in San Antonio,Texas. It was the first time I ever see them in concert. It was awesome, I had a great time.
Brandon Boyd always did hit the nail on the head.
I'm so happy I live in a world where I can just hit repeat on a playlist with all the incubus music videos.
I will be 60 in October 2023. Still listening to INCUBUS!!! I grew up with these guys, literally!! ❤❤❤ Jeannie in Lakeport California Feeling like this girl...it's passing me by....
I always heard incubus as a kid I'm 28 now and old enough to really appreciate their talent and deep dive on their music
When I was younger, I would hear this song and it would make me focus on being my best self. I hear it today as a 32 year old man, and again, I'm faced with the same feeling.
No body will ever know how deeply I feel about this song. Never let anyone keep you intertwined in their web. Get out while you can!❤
Absolutely freaking 100% right!
I LOVE THIS SONG one of the best bands ever imo. Seeing them whenever I can.
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🔥🌎🔥
I used to work at red rocks. Loved it. Incubus is amazing. Even more live... We call that goat nowadays.
Yesssss ❤️
I used to listen to cd's
Wow… that’s me in the car from 3:00 min onwards. This video was filmed in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 ✅👍
Probably one of my favorite songs by them.
A favorite of mine, period.
Now at 35, after I've wasted the last 20 years on addiction... its like my 14 yr old self felt my future pain and undertood what was to come 😪
Most underrated Rock Band Ever!! .. In my opinion...
I’ve seen the 5 times and I still am in awe every time I see them live. I feel every beat, every lyric, and every jump from Brandon...
This song continues to move me. Changed me when it first came out. Still does. Grateful.
easily one of the greatest music videos, songs, and from one of the greatest albums, EVER.
Incubus is pretty damn timeless. They dont fit into anyone genre..
They coukd have entered the industry in any decade and made it
I loved how back in the day the media tried to label them as nu metal, then immediately after they were like..."oh....but that's not right..."
Wouldnt the genre be alternative rock?
Brandon your voice is beautiful
Man the guys from Incubus are really nice people...
When I look at them I always regret not being nicer all my life...
Feels so sad...
Thank you sirs for writing your songs... I've been in love with you for about 15 years and have never found myself in a spot where this song is more appropriate than now. You really are life changers, future present and past. Honestly, thank you for all you've done!
This music will always b relevant! Classic tracks never fade away! Even Mazzy Star!
Fade Into You.......Takes Me Out Of This World ! (Mazzy *) Love Incubus and it's clever meaning behind the songs.
My life really passed by and I'm to tired to do something about it or even thinking about what i want or what is possible now.
now I'm 5 years old, been listening since I was -13 years old, still love it!
I have 0% of an idea of what you just said. I love it, and I Approve ©. 😂
@@hollyhayes9640 haha
Same
when music videos were creative and carried a meaning to the song! good old alternative days :)

So true, now everything is so meaningless

The great music that has been made is still there..search it out.. there's tons you may have not heard.
Try listening to something different too. Even the really old stuff is awesome.

I would would say I'm musically diverse. many different genres on my playlist
zooblek92
TheScholar72 Just give it up. Many legendary musicians have come to say that it's just not the same.
I remember I used to listen to this album from start to finish and the whole thing was amazing!
The video is so clear and the band really provided perfection... I always will love this song.
I'll make sure I'm authentic and true to myself. Never going to block my blessings again.
Well said! Just like another Incubus song tells us in "Make Yourself," it's better to make yourself than to allow someone else to make you.
Nice I'll listen to this song. Never heard it.
Is it just me? this video and song pretty much sums the Covid - 19 global crisis
How many people does this young woman represent? How many have wanted to scream at the very institutions that force us to bury our pain, sell our souls, or a combination of the two? Love the video - Very powerful. And don't ever be afraid to find a private space and scream your f**king head off. The right energy will always hear your screams.
Bull Falls, I love the way you think! Let's make the world hear our love and pain because it's all we have in the end.
Bull Falls PREACH!!😊😊
Alright , that's enough buzzkill. Shut up , turn out the lights , go to bed.
Bull Falls me everyday I have rage
Incubus was unappreciated. *instant goose bump nostalgia from all incubus n some good foo fighters songs*
“Those left standing will make millions writing books on the way it should have been” man what a line. Love this song
he's such a beautiful person, inside and out
My boy has partied with Brandon and says hes a Dick. His own band members will tell you the same.
Siberius the Sleeping Serpent Details please...
@@Unity1975 my friend and his pregnant gf were at a bar or concert, dont remember which, where incubus was playing and from what I recall, Brandon rudely stepped over his pregnant gf and my boy confronted him. From what I was told Brandon acted like he was better than everyone and didn't give a fuck about stepping over the pregnant woman. That's how I remember hearing the story.
Siberius the Sleeping Serpent I’ve had a friend who met Brandon... whole different story. He was super nice and they talked for quite a while... it was in the earlier days before the got super big so maybe that’s why
Incubus 2021. Keeping the 00s vibes alive
