I spent 1k on an i7 4770k version of this exact PC back when I was 14 and they were brand new! I kept it and only upgraded the graphics card in highschool when i wanted to play games on PC for a change. With a GTX 1070 I still don't see a need to upgrade that as my Gaming Only PC. I got another beefy setup for work but most games work great on this old system! That's crazy to think about.

my dad give me his office pc that not use on his department. It has i5 9400f, sata ssd, 8 gb ram 2666hz, gt 730 and no brand power supply. I upgrade the ram to 16 gb, nvme 3x4 ( but the motherboard support pcie 2.0 and the speed being limited. I also put a brand new cpu cooler from thermalright assassin x 120, a brand new power supply 80+ platinum 550w and used rx 580 from sapphire. The pc is doing well and I planing to change the case and upgrade mobo and cpu to am5 later.
problem with ddr3 is that the chipset that uses ddr3 lacks in some futures that make the game have hickups and thats why the 1% low is 20 fps. had the same with a i7 4790k had good fps but chipset was to old so got then a 3600x and didnt gain much fps but no stutter anymore. best if good price is a i7 7700 based office pc so you get ddr4
Those stutters are likely due to the fact that the 3600X has 2 more cores and 2 more threads. Notice how the 4790 is pretty much at 80% to 100%? It's core limited. The cores in the 3600 are also stronger than the cores in a 4790K. Had he been playing on an i7 6700 or 7700, the frame rate consistency would be pretty similar, just because of the core limitations. Granted, faster DDR4 likely is a contributing factor as well in better frame pacing, especially if you upgraded the amount of RAM. However, the chipset really is a non factor here.
@@TheBlueBunnyKen then why pay for a see through case if u don't care about seeing the looks, when you can keep the other case and save the money for later or get a cheaper one with no glass for astetics lol .. Makes less sense what your saying then
@@1CGI3 that's a good point. But why not just make it look good now . That case is the cheapest Part of the whole pc to change later on when the time comes. Maybe I'm just picky, but I'm sure most people would appreciate a decent look if they could choose.
I always count how many included case fans comes with the case. Kolink Observatory HF Mesh ARGB like 55€ in €urope for the moment. Comes with 6x rgb fans included. Each fan cost like 5-10€ separated easily... The only issue is, that you might not be able to replace these fans once they die out. They just dont sell these exact matched fans separated.
there is something that i'd like to make clear. some of these office pc's use non atx standard parts (powersupply, case, motherboard, etc) which basically means that they wont be compatible with the average part you'd find online. some of these motherboards are different sizes and standoff locations or have different power connectors which makes it impossible to use them with parts you buy online
I have used a couple of the Montech XR, at $62 it is a no brainer for me on anything but fairly high end and super budget PCs. For the current PC I am working on I have ordered a Gamdias fishtank style case with a small display on the bottom for PC temps, if the quality is decent and the build goes OK, I may use them again on mid range, as goofy as it sounds, that cheap little LCD will grab a lot of attention. I wasn't paying attention because the DeepCool AIO I am going to use for this build also has a LCD with the same info, so I might save that and go with a ID Cooling AIO instead.
Love your videos man! I have took inspiration from you to start flipping PCs myself here in Norway, sold my first flip with a profit of about 400$🤓🤩 You’ve truly helped me get motivated to start doing this, keep up the work and get that house!❤️
Honestly it would be cheaper/better to just upgrade the GPU (and PSU probably) within the Dell case. The new case doesn't give any value due to the green motherboard, ugly cpu cooler and psu cables tbh. Also Fortnite really sucks on old CPU's, it gives a lot of stutter. Not really playable tbh.
The cpu is reaching high temps because it struggles keeping up with the rtx 2060....the 1% lows can be improved in fortnite if a slightly lower gpu like the gtx 1650, 1660ti, or 1660 super, 1650 super is being used with this build
Hey Eli. I thought about getting a Dell XPS and doing a separate case swap and I was wondering if I could find a specific mobo that might play Helldivers 2 or any other AAA games. What type of Mobo should I find?

I think its nonsense to spend more than 250 grands on 4gen system. I know what i7 4gen is totally fine with nowdays games and it can run very good. But again, its 4gen cpu. just 30bucks more and u can find similar pc with i7 6/7/8gen or i5 7/8gen which is very good option if we are talking for bottleneck.

If I were trying to flip this, I'd actually go for a cheaper case "plain metal box" because the green Optiplex PCB isn't all that pleasant to look at.
In my area, that would make it sell significantly slower. If his local market is like mine, he made the correct choice.
