Looks like a nice camera. The night time shot showed a car in the distance and the headlights looked extremely bright. Night time test with approaching oncoming traffic would help tell us if it just completely washes out.
Hi R! Ah the camera has automatic exposure control (most backup cameras have this now) so it decreases exposure when there is brighter objects to reduce overexposure (washout). You can kind of see that if you look at the night sky, notice how it changes from light to dark when there are brighter sources in the image. Now that being said, if there are car headlights directly behind you, aimed straight at the camera, yeah definitely the image will be affected (what I describe as someone shinning a light directly at yours eyes lol) as basically it exceeds the capability of the image sensor to compensate with exposure control. This is something we see commonly in dash cams since those are used while driving around where bright headlights directly behind the vehicle are common (such as in stop lights). This is actually a very interesting topic since it comes up in dash cams often and I have a video in the works covering this in more detail, stay tuned, Cheers!
