We will never see his like again. Pure genius. R.I.P.....
“I was born with a priceless gift, the ability to laugh at the misfortunes of others.”
- Barry Humphries
I thought I’d seen every clip imaginable of Barry and Dear Dame Edna… so it’s so refreshing and a beautiful thing to see performances and interviews that I had yet to see. The day I read the news of his passing … hit me much harder than imagined. We were so blessed to have him with us as long as we did….but will always wish we had more. RIP BARRY YOU MADE THE WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE TO BE!❤️
Just watched this interview.. i agree with all of your comment i thought id seen them all too .. but not this one ( im listening in October 2023 ) i appreciate your comment ( i feel the same way )
The world of entertainment darkened upon his passing and no one comes close today . Be at peace barry ( you still entertain us )
The most famous best Australian comic that has ever been
RIP the wonderful Barry Humpries xxx
I admire him immensely
Just came upon this. Wonderful. So good to see younger people recognizing Barry's greatness!!
Just like an artist sees the world through different eyes, Barry Humphries sees the world through different thoughts and words.
A great entertainment icon lol I'm really going to miss him 😢
Renaissance man:genius, charm, humility and, in mufti, the ability to convey an innate and sincere warmth.
🥀I use to watch his shows in the 70s with my Dad I miss those days🥀✌🥀
Barry Humphries, Australia's very own comedic genius.
Long may he reign.
The greatest entertainer bar none in my opinion... Such a gifted ,intuitive and intelligent man . The sharpest tool in the box is barry!!!!!!!!
How many performers can think on their feet and be so sharp and hilarious
A brilliant entertainer, sadly missed!
We can for sure put a pair of Dame Edna's glasses on the harbour bridge!
How very ironic. That apostrophe to suck the lifeblood out of any comedy - Hanna Gadsby, just transfixed to the chair speechless amongst a panel way above her pay grade. Then the treachery. Just prior to Barry's death, this rainbow whisperer injects it's venom to cancel Barry from the very comedy awards in Melbourne he, together with Peter Cook, helped to inaugurate. Accused him of failing to 'read the room'. Well! Unless this rainbow whisperer intended to send itself into obscurity, this singular act of projectile venom is possibly the most notable case of 'misreading the room' in history. It will be used as a bullet point in future tutorials on acting and presentation. To attempt to diminish the contribution Barry Humphreys gave to the world, is a treason of the greatest order.
RIP Barry. Thanks for all the endless belly laughs.
A legend. Unique. Once in a lifetime. Inspirational. Comedic genius. All words that desperately try to describe Barry Humphries & his alter-egos but which somehow seem to be completely inadequate.
The couscous line was hilarious 😂
The Best entertainer from the Land Downunder, as sharp as a Croc's Gnasher's.
Miss you .
Unfortunately most Americans don’t know what to make of Dame Edna, but Barry and his characters are absolutely brilliant! I believe Joan Rivers was the first celebrity to give him a great opportunity for the American public on Joan’s chat show in the 1980s.
Many Americans LOVE Barry, myself included. I think that he ranks with the late Rodney Dangerfield as one of the two funniest men I have ever seen.
Les Patterson is great and the magnificent Dame Edna is so funny that mere words cannot describe her.
@@yourroyalhighness7662 I am from America and I love Dame Edna and have seen her three times.
@@tomkelly4336 You are fortunate. I am envious.
I took that advice, and left the road at 65mph. Would recommend. Thank you Dame Edna.
Brilliant man 💋
Rip Berry and les patterson and dame Edna. He was a genius 👏
Adam Hills being smart let Barry loose.
He is so hysterical, miss him as Dame Edna. RIP Barry.
The poorer the off stage dress sense, the greater the artist!
A technicolour yawn was one of Sir Les's lovely ways of describing being sick. Clearly, Barry looked at his own wardrobe for inspiration.
Now than Sir Ken Dodd has passed, Barry must rate as on our best, living comic legends. A gorgeous treasure.
Amazing to see 3 comics and Hannah Gadsby. She looked bewildered.
Barry was 78, Petula was 79.
He could teach the younger generation of so called comedians how it's professionally done
Yes classy not trashy! Tasteful never vulgar genius!
Petula looks great!
💜💕❤️
A young Hanna Gatsby to the side.
The interesting part of the video is that it features a young Hannah Gadsby, who led criticism of Humphries' comments on transgenderism.
Yes, he is still a genious - but what about these people around him here in the interview? They are surely missing their I-phones. And have ABSOLUTLY NO idea, of who Barry H is.
Is it just me or is anyone else thinking, "Fuck me, those chairs look uncomfortable!"

Ironic that Hannah is there, that tried to cancel him..if you don't find jokes funny, best not be a comedian.
😢 Rip Humphries
She's awful.
Yeah she looked like she was enjoying herself. So how did she become so bitter and politically correct?
Hannah Gatsby doesnt understand comedy.😂
Miss Barry already
7:53 Look at that stony-faced Sheila, as Sir Les would say! 😆 No way was she gonna laugh at that. Though you might think 'well why would any woman laugh at that?' All the audience were! cause they've got a sense of humour. It's amazing how many actual 'comedians' have the worst sense of humour ever.
So true. She’s about as funny as a house brick
That guy should NEVER say farewell ....... There is NO ONE to take his place
🤣🤣I think sometimes he forgets he is not dressed as her he’s a different kind of comedian every joke he tells is funny and he doesn’t it without profanity
