I remember watching these videos about the ride as it was approaching the opening. It was one of the most exciting moments of my life leading up to it. Between these little official teasers, the rose parade, the sign lighting ceremony, and the AAA 13 diamond award presentation, I was ready to experience this. Takes me back to that glimmer of promise that DCA had as a "failed" Disney park.
@@towerofterrordatabase yeah! I went opening week and it was definitely a different experience. My first trip to DCA was in November of 2003 and it was a ghost town. May 2004 Hollywood Pictures Backlot was jam packed. After the novelty of Tower wore down it slimmed but it was obviously more worth going for it, Soarin, Grizzly, and Screamin. But also by then World of Color was announced and following that was the DCA 2.0 project.
@@BellhopStitch What about Mission Breakout popularity? I really didn't like this makeover. An elevator that drops should be scary, not fun with music.
@@towerofterrordatabase Mission Breakout is equally as popular as Tower. The change made by Imagineering was a lateral change that made very little sense. Bob Weiss, former CEO of WDI, stated in a presentation at Cal Poly Pomona in 2017 that "We took the most popular ride in the park and turned it into the most popular ride in the park." I agree though. I have experienced MB twice (once regular and once Halloween) and the experience is mediocre. There is no slow build and the ride feels more similar to the drop towers/bounce towers from carnivals and fairs. The spooky factor of the Halloween version still lacks the kick that Tower had and just ultimately feels as though they realized suddenly that the park they were now hosting the Halloween events in was lacking a Halloween attraction with the removal of an attraction that centered around Halloween.

@@BellhopStitch So probably Paris Tower latest update have the same issue, no build-up and no climax, since it's almost the same as MB. =/
