Game Changer: The Panther KF51 Main Battle Tank
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 бер 2023
- With a combat weight of around 59 tons, the KF51 Panther is far more mobile than any current main battle tank. Its main armament, the 130mm Rheinmetall Future Gun System, gives the Panther superior firepower, making it more than a match for all current and foreseeable threats. KF stands for “Kettenfahrzeug”, German for tracked vehicle.

@@rasssse92 German tanks were not superior to allied tanks in any way. This is a common myth to those who have believe whatever history channel tells them. Just cause German tanks had big guns and more armor doesn't make them better. Often times they either got stuck, broke down, had a lack of training, etc. Even if they could get to battle, they were extremely easy to flank. Rheinnmetal strikes again
Financial time ..2014 ( ggle search Rheinmetall + russia)
Evidence that EU sanctions against Russia are starting to hurt European companies emerged on Thursday when Rheinmetall issued a profit warning after Berlin withdrew authorisation for a contract to supply Moscow with a combat simulation centre. The German defence contractor said it was looking at “all available legal options” following the cancellation of the export licence for the €120m per year combat training centre at Mulino, east of Moscow. For 30 000 russians troups. The move forced the company to revise down its forecast for operating profit at its defence business from €85m-€95m to €65m-€75m. Shares sank 8.6 per cent to €38.35. The German government exceeded the sanctions rules adopted by the EU last week, which do not apply to existing contracts. The losses in its defence business were compensated for by earnings in its automotive division, where the operating result rose 22 per cent to €93m.
“back in my days we had allot off panthers and tigers” 👴
When I first heard of the KF-51 my first thought was like "We're building new Panthers? Ah shit, here we go again"
Bad overused meme
And those tanks were amazing and something else back in there time
its a interesting move to name it the panther but then again we have a firetruck named that and we are out of cat names... next tank will have to be called Mieze..
@@frohenleid There are still plenty cats out there tho, so far we only repurposed Lynx/Luchs (again a light tank), Panther (again a "medium" tank), Tiger (this time firepower from above) and Puma (this time a IFV instead of a light recon vehicle). Gepard and Leopard being somewhat "new" if I'm not mistaken.
Perhaps we'll see the names of stinging insects being repurposed for artillery aswell in the future - I just love to be able referring to cat-named tanks without immediately being shoved into the "Wehraboo" drawer
While it appears that it can/will be manned, I think the plan is for a dood/doodette to get comfy in a gaming chair facing multiple monitors at a remote location and rock on.
There are so many issues with the concept of an unmanned tank.
What if the gun jams? It's taken out of combat by something that'd take a manned vehicle 30 seconds to fix.
What if the cameras get taken down? In a manned vehicle that's a big reduction in combat capabilities bc the crew has much less visibility, but for an unmanned tank it's something that completely takes it out of combat.
What if it throws a track during an operation? Maned tank crew can fix it in half an hour to an hour. Drone has to wait for repairmen to arrive.
What if it looses communication? Crewed tank can go back to base for repairs. Drone has to wait for pickup bc it just lost the connection to driver.
There's a good reason flying drones are nothing new but we haven't seen a remotely operated tank, even though that would be objectively easier. There are so many ways a drone tank can be taken out of combat which would not work on a vehicle with a crew...
@@edim108 i love how that's the problem and not the fact that it's completely unethical because at this point you're basically playing carmagedon x battlebots in real life.
@@BM-13_KATYUSHA I mean, it's not ethical either way. Tanks are literally machines designed to kill people...
@@edim108 that's why tanks usually have infantry support these days. We like to think of tank combat as just tanks fighting other tanks but it's so much more. Why get out of the tank and reduce its fighting ability to repair shit when the grunts alongside it do it for you?
@@rebelgaming1.5.14 Now you have to change doctrine to incorporate Repairing an Armored Vehicle into basic infantry training or integrating Mechanics into every infantry unit. You wanna be the one to handle THAT nightmare?
The infantry protect the crew so they can do their job, including repairing THEIR tank, not fuck around with something they don't understand in the middle of battle.

Wow, can't wait to see the Maus.
I love to see how this tank performs against the newest Abrams X variant!
against? 😮
Abrams X was only a technology display. That's literally it. If a new Abrams comes out, the Army will for sure strip out a lot of what they don't want. Still would be dope to see them both in action though.
Unless they add an active defense system on Abrams and a possibility for a scouting drone, Abrams X will be less effective at least in terms of battle intelligence and protection
For lots of reasons, the Abrams X will never be in service be cause there's no need, it cost a lot for nothing, Abrams M1A2 last modernization is sufficient. So it will never mass produced.
This and the Abrams X are pretty damn cool.
Well damn that is a sexy tank😂

No tank is a game changer until proven in battle. Most of these “game changers” never make it off the assembly line. Russias T-14 Armada was supposed to be a game changer but it can’t hardly go anywhere because of engine or transmission problems.

Who would have thought the tribe that considered barbarians by the roman would be such a master at building tanks
A turret the size of a tank is insane though 😂 but in a sexy way too😗
Now only thing missing is making it work
Almost all of its features have been employed in the PUMA IFV or other vehicles. So most of the "just work already you piece of shit" time has already been spend. The drone stuff however is not that well tested but then again it is so far nothing more than a fancy prototype

@@ShortHistory33 Nope. German government gave the contract for the next MBT of the Bundeswehr to a consortium of KMW&Nexter, with Rheinmetall as a junior partner. Project is called "Modern Ground Combat System", MGCS for short. That project is ongoing and just got the next phase go ahead in december. Rheinmetall, the designer of the KF51, is just a junior partner, and is causing trouble within the project. So they developed the KF51 as a stop-gap for the export-market, because they might get kicked out of the MGSC program and would not receive any more funds then.

Fun fact: the digital pattern helps it blend into computer systems, so on a range finder or aerial camera it will upload into the electronics and be rendered invisible to all tracking. Because...that's how digital camo works...trust me...I wore US Army ACUs for 6 years and that stuff worked wonders when deploying to the video game realm.

That 'game changer' will drive onto anti-tank mine and that would be all.
The worst thing about these machines is that they make it seem like almost a shame to not use them.
Oh great Minecraft Tank
The only issue with it....and many other new military platforms, is its reliance on more and more electronics. This means it will be harder to maintain and repair as time progresses. It will also require more specialized support members meaning more personnel overall.
Not that any of this is unique to this tank, as well i dont see this as a failure. Rather its just a growing trend that will create a new point of concern that may become harder to compensate for as populations shrink and supplies get harder to manufacture.
Ye it’s just something that is going to happen regardless as weapons technology advances. When canons first came around this same issue was created.
"now Hans put a flagship kannon on it like ze p1000 rattan"
Fun Fact: The KF-51 isn’t used by any military bc they don’t need it right now. It was simply designed and built to show Russia that we can do, what they did with the T-14 Armata, better.
