Well, they don’t have an 8. They call it the Leopard 2A7+ upgrade package. And while the hype is understandable, and the tank is decent, the Leo has had a few growth issues over the years. And the KF51 is built off the Leo2a4 platform. So, there’s a few issues that need to be addressed for this tank to be successful. First one, the armor for the driver’s seat is too thin on the Leo. While the Panther boasts the ability to control any system from any seat in the tank, you still don’t want one of your seats to be suicidal to use. So they have to boost that. Better to save lives than waste them. Secondly, on the Leo a7/a7+, they added some chobham armor to boost protection. Though the driver’s seat did not get the same treatment, sadly. The new armor is a good thing, but the engine is a bit overstretched due to the extra weight. So the engine would need an upgrade. The only info I could find on the armor of the Panther is that it’s welded steel. It doesn’t say if the removed the composite armor or not, but I really hope they didn’t ditch the protection for the sake of the engine. Composite armor is the way of the future, and they really should have it. Sacrificing that for an outdated engine, is not a good idea. So hopefully, they gave this thing a better engine, and didn’t take the easy route. Thirdly, the Leo sadly doesn’t have blowout panels for their ammo storage. That’s bad. The blowout panels stop the ammunition from killing the crew in the event the storage gets hit. These blowout panels should be STANDARD on _all_ tanks. Especially with all the shit we’re seeing in Ukraine. Tanks without them are basically death traps, give them blowout panels. The US developed hypersonic missiles in the 60s and then scratched the project bc it was deemed unnecessary. Btw, there’s tons of hypersonic missiles in all NATO forces inventories, the only thing special about Russias Khinzal missile is it’s mid flight maneuverability
My first thought is dealing with a panther that has survived contact with the enemy and the replacement of the peripheral devices on the outside every time, namely the cameras. The logistics needed to keep these tanks in 100% combat efficiency, etc.
Wait isnt there a new generation of Abraham’s. Not a new sepv3 or 4. But like a brand new tank basically. ???
Abrams X. Basically, if the KF51, T-14, and M1A2 SEPV3 did a threesome and had a successor.
shocked Russians lol )) ;ooks like every one who loses war to Russians still trying so hard to impress them😆
Your comment aged like milk
No, it doesn’t
The breakdown incident of 2015 is more shocking, tbh.
И пугали ежа голой жопой! Тигры жгли и это будем жечь!
I guess price is also a big factor and should be among the comparison criteria.
iam german, i was shocked too O_O
I'm imaging just relaxing with my squad, then suddenly 5 of these boys are firing 130mm shells at your little resting spot. 3 shells in 16 secon so every second is another explosive projectile flying at you. 12.7mm gun firing, maybe 20 infantryman. Good luck surviving that don't even give a fuck if you're Rambo!!!
Second of operation Barbarossa let's go ....
I wonder when there will be a new modern German Tiger tank :)
wonder what the new Tiger 1 and 2 would look like
look at that barrel it looks like big ass 50 CAL SNIPER HOLYYYYYY
It’s a 130 mm canon, the thing is 10x larger than a normal 12mm (or 50 cal as it’s normally called)
Does it run on Windows xp?
Now the Germans need Rommel II for Panther
