I always thought it looked kind of old, but for a 2002 car it aged extremely well. It‘s just a feeling but I think the W211 will become as iconic as the W124.
Almost 20 years old with 125,000 km on the odometer and this E55 still performs like a new car. Even the soundproofing at over 300 kmh is impressive, especially considering this is a car from 2004. W211 is still my favorite E-Class along with the W124. Great video!

the car is from 2002 original
Mine is from 2005. It had done 560 800 km with real zero big issues. Kleemann K3 tuned and had the gearbox replaced and a full restoration when 400 000 km , still running in 9/10 conditions

The speedo wasn't accurate. I think on GPS he didn't reach 300km/h.
Speedo from factory are only about 5/8 kms difference below. He did pass 300km
@@ritss1583 No. Every car speedo is different, there are some speedos that are even 30km/h off at 300km/h, for example the M5 E60 or Lambo Murcielago )
And if you know a thing about cars you should know that a 1800+ kg mid size sedan with less than 500hp will not exceed 300km/h.

One of my favorite things about the e55 is how quiet it is at very high speeds. The other similar cars I’ve owned make weird noises around 150. My c7 s6 made such a bad whistle you couldn’t drive over 160 without being miserable and my f80 also made a terrible noise at high speed. Sold my f80 for an e55 after owning one years ago and I’m so glad to have it back. Simply the best for a high speed cruiser imo.

Up to 63 W 212 was still good. But still 211 is my beloved 🎉
The W211 was actually considered one of the worst quality wise. The standards dropped heavily between 1999 and 2006 and for the large part until 2012.

E55 AMG is an excellent car. It is a 2004 model vehicle, but it performs as if it were new. It goes at speeds over 250 for minutes, but it doesn't even click, which is really impressive. In my opinion, the 55 AMG V8 engine is one of the most special and successful units produced by Mercedes.
Nothing's compare to this timeless car and fantastic engine. Thank you Mercedes and AMG. And of course thanks so much for this awesome vidéo.
And the best part, with some cooling mods, exhaust and supercharger pulley you can add another 200hp to this! It really is one of the best cars ever made.

Not sure what's more impressive, the power of that M113K or the German lane discipline! 😮 Here in South Africa, this would never work - everyone just sits in the overtaking lane. Just below the speed limit. All. Day. Long.

Even in todays standards this still exceeds some performace levels, so imagine how ahead of its time this car was in the early to mid 2000's.

My customer lives in a small town in New Zealand. He asked me to take his W211 E500 to town and try to sell it for him.... I ended up buying it for $5000 and only 100K kms on odo.

My Derestriced 2007 SL55 did 296 in 4th Gear,on the A96 near Stuttgart. It ran to 330 kph,on way to Nurburgring,to Race.What a car. Now have a Performance Edition SL63 Bi Turbo.320km/Hr only.

I had a 2004. Solid build quality and great seats, but...the E55 had too many issues such as supercharger replacements, fuel pumps, electrical issues, air suspension, heater cooling issues, and the list goes on. When it was on its game, though, it was a beast. My kids learned to drive on it too. Good car if you like to tinker. It can make gobs of additional power too with simple mods.
