Hope you have THE most wonderful trip! Cannot wait to hear all about it! Edinburgh is one of my fave cities🥰👀📚
I can't wait for the cardigan haul. Have a wonderful trip!
Thank you!
The Claire Keegan vibes you mention for Clear remind me of Frank O'Connor's short stories. He is also Irish and a lot of his stories were about human connection and not letting any social/economic/political rules detract from respect and care for others. One of his more famous stories is 'Guests of the Nation', which is an all-time favourite of mine. If you ever see a collection of his, I would highly recommend picking it up!
Also, I love you mentioning the Oscar Wilde statue. I went to the UK and Ireland when I was in high school and have a picture of myself with the statue that I'll never forget. Hope you and Joel can get a similar photo!
I love the videos with you three. Have a very safe trip and wonderful time. I can’t wait to hear all about it. Take care.
Thank you so much!
I read Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan last week, what a wonderful little book. Toppings in Edinburgh is supposed to be a really good bookshop.
I'm so glad you liked the Keegan book! I think Toppings is on our list but I'll check. Thanks for the recommendation.
Y’all power couple goals 📖🪱💚
😂🤣🤗🥂
❤ Thank you!
I am listening to Tom Lake and loving ❤️ it! Have a wonderful trip... im so glad i found you!
Have a safe and memorable journey, guys. Can't wait to see all the books and sweaters you bring back. Any chance of some donuts??
So glad you are reading Inland Island month by month. It was really a highlight of the year for me when I finished in December!
Joel is loving that approach!
I love how it is panning out! I love spring and fall so looking forward to it.
I’m so envious of your travel plans! Have fun!
I read just about all of Abby Jimenez and absolutely love her. And I’m not really a romance reader. Her latest is fun, fresh and may tug on your heartstrings.
I'm getting very excited to read one of her books! Thank you.
My plans for May: a three day shopping trip to Powell's in Portland.
Have a fab holiday :) can't wait to see the cardigans!
I love you two together so much 💞 Be safe! I’m so jealous lol.
Thank you! I love book conversations with Joel.
I am on the list for Sipsworth. A book where everyone is lovely is a nice change every now and then. Looking forward to seeing the cardigans! Have a wonderful trip with safe travels 🥰
Thank you so much! I would like to get to Sipsworth myself.
Safe travels! I'm sure you're gonna love it. Can't wait to hear about it. It's been years since I was there. I loved Ireland, back to my roots. That was a fun video.
I LOVED Charm Offensive.
Oh I hope you share some video of the countryside with us pleeeeease?? 😊 enjoy your trip!
If I remember, I’m hoping to share some shorts while we’re gone (in addition to the scheduled videos). But we will definitely share more when we get home regardless!
@@SupposedlyFun yay!! Have fun!
I’m reading huckleberry Finn for the first time right now. I was shocked by the language and then my husband explained it to me. There’s A LOT of information on why it was used. And Twain knew what he was doing. The information helped in making me enjoy it way more. My husband said it’s his 2nd fav book of all time. He had something similar to cliffs notes for me to use as well. I disagree with huckleberry being a bad kid/character.
I loved Just for the Summer as well!
Hope you are having a fabulous time!❤
Thank you! We leave tomorrow.
I am so looking forward to your trip so you can tell us about it! Love watching your videos and i add something to my list with every one!!
Thank you--that means a lot. I expect we will have lots of photos and videos to share.
You three are delightful.
Aw, shucks. 🤗 🥂
Agreed, the end of Clear was unsatisfying & puzzling. Odd, because Davies is superb writer, one of very few auto buy authors for me.
It’s frustrating because the rest of the book was SO GOOD.
Teddy is awesome
Thank you! He's a total cutie.
Enjoy the trip! I hope you find some good books. Are you guys seeing the sites on your own of through a tour? 😊
We’re doing a mix! But we’re not on an overall tour. The only tours we’re doing are individual deals like Trinity Library, Guinness Storehouse, etc.
I hope you enjoy my home city, Dublin! Dubliners fondly call the statue of Oscar ‘the queer with the leer’ which is marginally better then what we call the statue of Anna Livia ‘the whore in the sewer’ (in the Dublin accent whore and sewer can rhyme) 😂
Just to be forewarned there are student protests on at the moment in Trinity and the book of kells is closed, not sure about the library. Hopefully things are sorted before your trip and you at least get to wander the campus.
There’s an Irish foodie instagramer called Éadaoin Fitzmaurice who has loads of recommendations for Dublin and other parts of Ireland if you’re travelling around - her recommendations are always great.
I hope you have plenty of craic on your trip! If I see you knocking around I’ll definitely say hello 😂 ❤
Yo teddy long distance doggy hugs for teddy
He loves hugs!
Any chance of a cardigan fashion show when you return from Ireland and Scotland?😀
I think I will be very happy to show them off!
@@SupposedlyFun 😁
Haven’t watched yet, but really needed this today. I had to take my little cat Missy for an ultrasound today for a presumed cancerous mass. I will be losing her soon. Why is it always my favorites? 😢
I'm so sorry. I'm glad we were able to brighten your day at least a little. ❤️
Our hearts are with you. It is never easy. I am sorry you are going through this. Hold her tight and lover her.
Hello Teddy and his hoomans!
I read a book last month, Ndima Ndima by Tsitsi Mapepa, and definitely enjoyed it, but was also somewhat confused by the author combining stark realism (war, rape, etc) with mythology. I just found it odd and hard to digest within the same book. I keep thinking about it because I feel like I’ve missed something or am just over-thinking it. I would love to hear someone else’s thoughts on the book. It is worth reading for sure.
Thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't even heard of that book.
I read 11
That's a good month!
Who's looking after Teddy when you're away?
Who’s looking after my daddy’s when I’m not there? ~ Teddy
We have a great place in town. They watched Guinness and took excellent care of Jamie. Teddy has already stayed there and loves it.
@@LibraryLizard 😂 😆
Did they clean up the language
In James? So far I've only run into one use of the slur that I can recall.
