    Greg, many public libraries allow you to suspend your holds without losing your place in line. It’s a great feature, especially if you’re on vacation and don’t want to lose your hold. 😀

    My pride reading for this year is: Biography of X by Catherine Lacey, The New Life by Tom Crewe, Boulder by Eva Baltasar, Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski and Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin. Adding Cantoras and The Prospects to the list. Thank you for the recommendations.

    OMG, I can't believe you haven't read Boy's Own Story yet - I'm watching your vlogs for some time and I wouldn't expect you omitted it till now. Actually it's the first real LGBT book I've ever read - there were not some many options in small Polish city 15 years ago. I borrowed it from public library (I guess it wasn't banned from youth section because in Polish it has misleading title "Zuch" meaning "Scout" or "Brave Boy") and I love it. I've read it several times until they send me notification to bring it back. I bought it years later, read it again and it was still remarkable. Hope you will like it.
    P.S. Tin Man looks great, I'm adding it to my TBR this June.

    I’ve been adding to my June pile of possibilities for the past week from books I already own. For June on the Range I have a Zane Grey and a Louis L’amour. Because I am going to Ireland in July I have Milkman. I am in two bookclubs, but I am not sure what those will be yet.
    Everything else will be queer for Pride month. I have two EM Forster books including Maurice. My biggest stretch will be a fantasy, She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan. I’ve heard it’s good from people who enjoy fantasy but it’s the first in a series and I’m not a series girlie. Give me a good standalone.
    I’ll probably hit up my library or used bookstore for a short Oscar Wilde play. We got tickets to see his house when we’re in Dublin and I’ve not even read his work yet!

    • @SupposedlyFun
      @SupposedlyFun  Місяць тому +1

      I’ve heard good things about She Who Became the Sun. And you can definitely read Wilde’s plays quickly (I’ve read An Ideal Husband). I hope you enjoy Ireland! I’m in an airport for my connecting flight home and we had a blast.

    I am going to read Guncle and Tin Man in June. I promised to give you my thoughts on Blackouts…I read it twice. The first time I liked it but felt kind of lost with it. I’m straight and maybe that was part of it. Then I tried reading it while listening to the audio… oh my gosh. The audio is so beautiful. Having two voices helped me so much. In fact, I’m thinking of listening to the audio again. That would make three reads. I might never truly understand it all, but I found it beautiful.

      @@SupposedlyFun ohhh that book!!!! You know I did a review of it and praised how much I enjoyed it and she sent me a signed copy all the way from the UK - this was years ago. I just was super touched by that bc my reviews aren’t all that lol!!! 😂 I totally enjoyed Still Life by her as well. A much slower burn and a much longer story that made me pine for a sweet unconventional artistic life in Florence Italy, which she describes so well it’s more than a setting it’s like a whole vibe….! Looking forward to your thoughts on Tin Man. I’m flying thru a fantasy story currently which I haven’t done in years - called When The Moon Hatched and it’s so fiercely feminist and has dragons and characters with fluid sexuality… I’m already on page 413 and I’m just loving it.
