  • Headed out from Seathwaite with Scott - The Lone Explorer - for an overnight wild camp in the mountains below the Scafells.
Our route took us up the side of Styhead Gill via a short scramble, and past the spectacular Taylorgill Force waterfall. From here it was on to Styhead Tarn and the mountain rescue stretcher box at Styhead. We then picked up the Corridor Route and found a pitch at 2400ft with fantastic views, dominated by the mighty Great Gable, and surrounded by solitude.
Scott was kind enough to lend me his Terra Nova Voyager tent and it was great to have such a large amount of space for such a lightweight (1.7kg), 2 person tent. Being an ultralight specialist Scotts shelter of choice was the Mountain Laurel Designs Cricket Tarp and Soul bivi combo.
Really great to spend time with Scott and enjoy a fantastic 10 mile hike with 2450ft of ascent.
Many thanks for watching - Dave
