Thank you for that Paul. I'm not sure you realise just how much satisfaction your videos provide for those of us who yearn to be doing what you are doing but are otherwise housebound. Keep up the good work and keep living the dream. 😊👏
If your bivy is long enough, try putting your pack at the bottom of the bivy bag. It will lift the top of the bivy up off of you and give you a bit more airflow 👌
Haven't seen your videos in awhile (because canadian winters means no camping or hiking) and I came back and you have so many followers now!! So happy to watch this channel grow! You are my favorite camping UA-camr and I've been following for a few years now!
Great one, Paul, thank you. I wonder how many will put "Long Beer Belly" on their self certification form on Monday morning! And that silhouette shot of you necking a beer against the sunset was epic. Well done.
So envious of you Paul as you are within easy reach of these places! The only time I've been up Helvellyn it was misty wet and no view whatsoever! Still a great climb mind! Shame it takes me a 5 hrs drive to get there! All the best!!
Great video as usual Paul . Not sure about the bivvy. For me I think a 3x3 tarp in a tent configuration would have been equally as light for carrying ,and also the indoor space it creates for sitting, cooking and sleeping would have been my choice. Thanks again tho
I defy anyone not to love the views from the high fells in the Lakes. Incredible weather for March. I tend to camp on the lower fells. Less folk about.
@Dee Canter Very safe. Far more so than walking around a city centre, you'll find. Lots of solo female campers on the sites. I use Castlerigg Hall. Everyone is really respectful & helpful, on the fells & on the camp sites.
Thanks for such a great video Paul. You inspired me and my partner to FINALLY get our own camp! We travel a lot so it had to fit in a bag with everything else. It took a lot of research but we got there! I took a lot of information, inspiration and tips from your content. Thank you!
Dear Paul, first I want to say that the view from up there is just amazing and the weather conditions I think were ideal, so we all enjoyed your shots! Personally I would not feel very comfortable inside a Bivi, due to the limited space. I think a one man tent would be my bare minimum. Keep up the great work!
Well mate that was a real enjoyable watch looking at the trip from your perspective 👌. Great conditions and so chuffed we could get out to catch up and enjoy some mountain time. Don’t know about you but I’m still high on life after that one. I’ll have mine up this week at some point 👌. Like I say though let’s pin another date down for more of this. Take care mate
Thanks for the link to the mini pump, I saw you use it and was like OMG genius love the convenience of it. Ordered complete…hope you have a great week!
Brilliant video as always Paul.. Helvellyn is one of my favourite places to be and looks like you had some absolutely superb conditions for both golden hours 😀 Awesome 👌🏻 ATB... Chris
The sunset views you got with this camp are out of this world - you got some amazing angles. I am extremely jealous and inspired. I think I will try this camp in Spring!
Wow you picked an awesome day for Helvellyn Paul. Thank you for sharing this. Blown away. If your video is this amazing, I can't imagine what it would of been like to be there and experience those views, the sunset and sunrise for real. Never have I been lucky enough for weather like that in the lakes. I hope one day I'll get lucky. But nevertheless, it's always been worth while, even in the rain. 😂 I did my first wild camp last week over 3 days. Stayed at Sickle tarn (Grassmere) one night, absolutely stunning place to camp! #LNT
Class night for it... if you want a mint cheeky one away from the massive being around you in the morning check out Hard tarn inbetween Dolly and Nethermost... absolutely stunning
What a stunning place to go, Paul. Thanks for taking us along. I'm in Australia and would really love to be able to do the places you do. Yes, we've got good areas down here too but often it's a bit of 'either too wild or too tidy' with where you can go around where I am.
That takes me back to my youth. In New Zealand now, but you have planted the seed for a mission when I next visit. Many thanks Paul for sharing, Wishing you more days like that one. NZ out.
You mean you don't play the sachet game? You're meant to forget it exists, make the meal as normal, and then find it by accident half way through amongst a mouthful of food! Keeps it entertaining 😆 What a glorious night.
My fave Helvellyn.Took my son camping at the foot near Ulswater(he was around 11)We started off in a thick fog.As we got to Red Tarn and Striding Edge the the sky was a crisp clear blue. The fells of the Lakes were islands in a sea of mist.Burned in my minds eye that image.
Brilliant....one of them days/nights that happen every now and again where the weather ,views, are breathtaking mate great video paul 👍 also out with Steve a fellow mackem top lad so bonus point aswell paul all the best marra stay safe 👌 🏕
Utterly epic! It felt strange watching that at times Paul as I was experiencing pretty much the same just off the top of Skiddaw that night.....even down to the salmon and broccoli S to S! A fantastic watch.👍
I did my first one last june for 5 nights in the fish river canyon in namibia . The second largest canyon in the world . Never looked back ever since , just bought my 2nd bivy less than a week ago and already camped in it .
superb mate what better conditions & on one of the lakes finest mountains..i did helvelyn in the early days via striding edge in winter what an experience that was..it's one of the ones i want to revisit to camp on hopefully this summer..tfs mate..
these videos has made me buy the gear and get ready for a proper wild camp. always wanted to do it but hard as i dont drive and where i live theres not much. but im gonna just do it! videos like these makes me wanna get out there
Wonderful. Thanks Paul. Beautiful sunrise. One idea regarding camp food. I recently brought some Huel to eat and some are a good substitute for the dehydrated food and cheaper. Maybe to a review?
Great vide..I've watched scores of your videos and that was one of the most fantastic. Occasionally you just know what the weather is going to do. You know it's going to be perfect and you'll get a Sunset and sunrise. It doesn't happen very often. Glad you enjoyed it. Still think for the weight a 1 man tent is better than a bivvy though.
Putting the rucksack inside the dry bag is such a simple yet genius idea I don't know why I never thought of, but will definitely be taking this tip on
Great video Paul with some awesome scenery. Don't know who's the drone was in video buzzing about while you were filming would have driven me nuts 😂 Got myself an Alpkit Elan looking forward to getting out and using it soon 😉 all the best mate 👍
Great video paul, perfect timing for me too, going week after next ...and i finally got to the lakes at the beginning of this week, three peaks up to scafell pike👍 thanks to you and others on here, my happiest is "up the hill"....cheers 👍
Great to see you in the mountains Paul😎👍. I bivied in the summit shelter last year, and camped up there in wild conditions this winter. It’s a fantastic place. ATB Dave
Greetings from NorCal. Thanks for the stunning views from up high where eagles fly. And you have a very pleasant UA-cam vibe also. And you cracked me up with that pudding, hope it wasn’t the kind with pigs blood.
Thank you for that Paul. I'm not sure you realise just how much satisfaction your videos provide for those of us who yearn to be doing what you are doing but are otherwise housebound. Keep up the good work and keep living the dream. 😊👏
Nothing quite like the constant sound of a drone to watch a stunning sunrise 😵💫
Definitely the bane of camping nowadays
Absolutely stunning Paul. However from a personal perspective and one that loves the silence ….. a 12 bore would
sorted that blooming drone out!!
If your bivy is long enough, try putting your pack at the bottom of the bivy bag. It will lift the top of the bivy up off of you and give you a bit more airflow 👌
At 6ft4 I was contemplating cutting open the foot end of my bivvy and just leaving my boots on ;-)
Never seen Helvellyn like that: that's amazing.
3:15 I slept in front of here in a sleeping bag and orange survival bag. I was 18 at the time, 52 now. Thanks for the video Paul.
Fantastic camp Paul.
I just wish that I could have just one night away, doing what you do.
Thank you for taking us along on your adventures.
Wow!!! Just incredible footage and scenery! Can’t go wrong with an adventure like that! That sunset was amazing
That was one of the most relaxing videos I’ve watched! Really missed your Lake District camp videos - hopefully more to come!
Great scenery thanks for taking the time to film it .I can never get over the lack of trees shrubs on your mountains...
Hi. BEAUTIFUL. SCENERIES. LANDSCAPE. AWESOME. AMAZING. HIKING. CAMPING.

Absolutely stunning Paul! Can't wait to get my gear together and head up the Scottish Highlands!
Wish I could do a bivi but for me it's like sleeping in a coffin. Enjoyed the content and the stunning views!
Absolutely perfect! You couldn’t ask for better conditions for camping on a mountain. Great video Paul, an enjoyable watch. Thank you x
So envious of you Paul as you are within easy reach of these places! The only time I've been up Helvellyn it was misty wet and no view whatsoever! Still a great climb mind! Shame it takes me a 5 hrs drive to get there! All the best!!
You looked snug as a bug in a rug in that bivvy tent Paul, love Helvellyn 🥾⛰⛺️
This has inspired me to get a bivvy, pad and blanket for a night or two up the Cairngorms
Wow! Beautiful scenery. What a gorgeous place. Thanks for sharing ot with us.
Great video as usual Paul . Not sure about the bivvy. For me I think a 3x3 tarp in a tent configuration would have been equally as light for carrying ,and also the indoor space it creates for sitting, cooking and sleeping would have been my choice. Thanks again tho

Striding edge & a camp on Helvellyn are definitely on my to do list, just stunning views 😍😍
Thanks Paul!! Utterly stunning up there. I'm going to do it this spring/ summer 2024.

I really like how you include the sunset and sunrise where possible, not only this video but many others. Great video!
Wonderful camp on the Everest of the Lake District. Amazing views and the night and morning skies were just beautiful.

Fantastic camp, loved the bivy set up, great idea with the dry bag, drone buzzing was annoying lol

That drone would be doing my head in. Great views. You should try Pillar via high level traverse next. Great walk, amazing views.
The sunset views you got with this camp are out of this world - you got some amazing angles. I am extremely jealous and inspired. I think I will try this camp in Spring!

Love mountain top camps. The views make up for no campfire ⛰🔥
Great video. Learned two things. No way could I manage a bivvy, love the thought but practicalities not for me. No. 2 dry bag in rucksack is genius 👍
What amazing conditions you had for that camp. I'm desperate to do my first bivvy so it was great to see you do one. Thanks for sharing!
I did my first one last june for 5 nights in the fish river canyon in namibia . The second largest canyon in the world . Never looked back ever since , just bought my 2nd bivy less than a week ago and already camped in it .
