Done the same route numerous times in my youth. Watching this brings back good memories. Maybe do it again soon. I'll be a lot slower now than when I did it in my youth.
@@TheSoloSummiteerit is indeed. I used to camp in hollow stones with a mate in his tiny van go force 10 and climb the cliffs on Scafell and Pikes Crag. Walking up Brown Tongue with full camping set up, lots of food and full climbing kit was a challenge.
Agree thats an awesome route , but glad i didn't have camping gear when i did it , steep and loose. Looks like u had a great camp, for a very worthy cause
Boss video Dave 👍🏻If there's anyone you want to be up Scafell with it's Rob.. Would have been nice to see some interaction but I know Rob let's the camera speak for him... I follow you both and spent the night on Brandreth with my old dog for the fundraiser.. Was a great night although it's a shame that the clag ruined it and our chances of seeing summit headtorches 😞...It's so good to see youtubers like you get involved!!👍🏻It was for a great cause and we reached the target of £5000 😊
Nice one Lee. Brandreth is a lovely view point. Unfortunately, as you saw from my video, I didn’t have many views from Scafell but it was still a really enjoyable trip. It was great spending time with Rob he’s a Lakes legend 🙏🏻. A effort from all the campers and fantastic that the fundraising target was met. ATB
Vastly experienced? He's only been at it a few year really and from what I've seen been very lucky a few times not to come unstuck. Only takes that one time.
I can only assume Andy means I’m vastly experienced compared to himself. I have a lot of experience of wild camping in the UK, but t’s all relative. As for being very lucky a few times not to come unstuck? I don’t think so. I take safety very seriously and don’t take unnecessary risks. I also encourage others to do the same.
Best footage of LR / WWT I’ve seen. Even better than your previous video mate - probably helped with Rob there with you. Definitely best fell in England: Was planning a camp there on Tuesday with the Durston but with how fast the weather can change it may be best playing it safe with the Soulo. Brilliant video again, always inspiring ⛰️
Awesome Dave. Nice you met up with Rob..... Like I've said. I neglected that area for years. It's 30 years since I was on the traverse. Looked great. And a nice pitch of course. Nice full film of a great trip. 👍and clouds are ok....☁️...mostly 😅
Great video Dave, never done Scafell - like the look of West Wall Traverse, but fancy Eskdale up to Foxes tarn too My favourite is Great Gable - family reasons/ fond memories as a kid doing the traverse
Was up last Wednesday, up the pike and across onto scafell via foxes rake. A fine mountain indeed - although the missus wasn’t too keen on mickledore up foxes rake 😂 - I’ll be back up there but I doubt she will be joining. Love the videos, keep em coming!
Really enjoyed this video and it did look a fantastic route. Don't go to the Lakes often as I live in North Wales but having and great commentary and having a map to hand really lets me understand the area.
Good ol' UK weather in June ay Dave 🤣🤣 Either way, ace to see you out and about. I've neglected the mountains recently for some multi day hikes.....missing them though! Stay safe and well mate, Adge
Beauty video as always mate! Some stunning footage in there, even with all that clag! 🤣 We were camped on Nethermost Pike for the fundraiser, glad to see soo many out supporting the MRT’s 👌🏼 ATB mate
hey, Dave , well, it was another great adventure , as usual. very enjoyable video. coming off that mountain had some sketchy spots. Looked real steep. I bet it was fun, though. I'm looking forward to the next adventure. Dwayne
Superb Dave again I really wanna do this but as you know I always go with my mate Riley my spaniel it’s just something we always do together I’ll have to come up with a plan on my own for this one. 🤔
I know what you mean Nigel. I love dogs myself but wouldn’t want to risk taking him up there. Depending on his ability he could get you both into trouble. Maybe do it alone first and see if you think he’d be ok or not? ATB
Hi Dave. Absolutely brilliant mate, superb, it’s just a superb area isn’t it. Pity the weather didn’t play ball when you were up on the summit, but still, the rest of the time it was immense. All the best mate Dave 😀⛰🥾🏕️
What a route that was Dave. You said it was tough and it looked it...just relentless. Brilliantly filmed..capturing the harshness and beauty of the place. You have that ability that from the start of your hikes and camps, you make the viewer feel like they are there with you every step of the way..captivating stuff. I've watched your film of Lords Rake from a few years ago a few times, this was every bit as good. All for a great cause as well👍 This was such a good watch. And that sausage roll looked immense..deffo not from Greggs that one😀 Take it easy mate👍
Fantastic video, Dave. As always a great watch and a fantastic and important fundraising.- Donated✔ I was not far from you as I was doing the 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE for a fundraising and summitted Scafell Pike on Saturday at 21.55hrs (challenge completed in 23.55hrs)👍
Hi Dave, excellent video. Such a fantastic mountain, probably my favourite too. Sorry I didn’t get chance to come over to you. I put my summit camp video on UA-cam yesterday. Take care ATB Dave
Well done Dave….i was up on Hardknott for the same fundraiser, I knew you would be up on Scafell and as the night went on I could see the clag rolling in over you, good night though 👍👍
It was my first time to scafell pike on Saturday, yeah hundreds of people on that tourist path and agree the decent is horrible. I was looking over to scafell from top of mickledore I had about 25mph winds. I certainly see why this is your favourite area it’s really incredible.
Cracking video this Dave, I did Lords rake the other week in my video for the first time, I thought it was hard work with just my butties nevermind all my camping gear 😂 good effort that mate. Looked a good camping spot. Love them atmospheric mornings.
Excellent video - those clouds and mist at the summit were spectacular. Your ascent brought back some scary memories of an ascent I did with friends 30+ years ago. Only ever to be done once 🤣🤣 Strange to say, I don't remember how we got back to Wasdale youth hostel where we were staying 🤔So pleased Alan managed to raise the £5k for the MRT
Yeesssssss, probs my favourite Lake District mountain and hike too, tis always empty as well. The only "easy" way up is probs via slight side but its a canny slog so probs keeps the masses away!
Great one Dave, I’ve walked up foxes tarn onece, going down looks much trickier!! As you were going up Lords Rake, in thinking one day, that large boulder is going to move😮 just goes without saying, even in mid summer, it could still be like winter on the summit’s, but you still see walkers in flip flops and bikini’s! Most of my walking is from Boot, only because it’s accessible by Train, Eskdale my favourite area, last Saturday I walked from Boot to Wasdale head via Miterdale forest and Wastwater, then return via Burnmoor tarn, about 16 miles, then I was ready for a pint, haha! Keep safe on Mountains.
I'd Say Yewbarrow Is Quite The Challenge. But I Agree That Scafell Isn't Easy To. Started In Wha House Farm When I Summited The Came Down Past Foxes Tarn And It Was Clear. A Great Hike Experience From me!
Really good video that Dave and well done for supporting such a worthy cause 👌. Whats that bag you were using, just looks better fit than my exos 48. Just how you get up Lords rake i’ll never know, been hiking the Lakes for many years but not done that and now i never will with my knees😟. Anyway you take me there so thanks for that. Think you about same age as me but bloody hell you’re fitter pal 👍
Fantastic to see you boys finally out together, two fantastic ambassadors for outdoor and especially the beautiful Lake District. Rob sure is a mountain goat and as you say Dave, captures the best drone footage. Respect to you both, for your charitable efforts on this one. 👌👊👊
Oreyt, me and a mate are planning a couple night trek and would ideally like to start from wasdale head. What’s the rules on overnight parking? Last time I was there in summer they said the green is fair play but any roadside parking near the lake is prohibited and gets ticketed? Thanks ☺️
Another excellent video and edit Dave, awesome to share this hike with you and finally meet up at a place we share a mutual appreciation for the Scafells on a classic route 🙏🏻. We've been close many time's on opposite peaks and always crossed paths at different times 😂 so it was great to get out and contribute to a great cause The Duddon & Furness M.R 🙏🏻 Ive followed your channel for a long time now for many reasons..... I love your enthusiasm for the county and the lakedistrict peaks, one of the realest channels on UA-cam with no clickbait to gain views or cringey fictional drama to boost subs, just a humble guy with a genuine passion for what you do and knowledgeable and informative on routes and just as I knew through our many chats over the years you're exactly the same off camera, it really was a pleasure to meet you and I know it won't be the last until then take care my friend and keep doing what you love 🙏🏻⛰️⛺️
Tourist path? You're a tourist if you don't live round there....once heard you refer to them as ants aswell, just people that don't normally do that kind of thing wanting to experience Englands highest peak. I've had to unsub now.
There's nothing derogatory about referring to the tourist path as the tourist path that's what it's known as whether you're local or not, it's the direct route from the National trust car park, Scafell Pike has over 250,000 visitors a year many of them tourists taking this route wanting to summit England's highest peak as its more well known and popular its also referred to as the pony track. The direct route to Ben Nevis is referred to in the same manner or the mountain track on the direct route There's no reason to take offence 😂

Epic trip Dave. £10.49 for a cereal 😳😳😳! I use mug shots 69p or a porridge in a pot. Nice job mate anyway. I’m off to the doctors 🥼 to check my blood pressure after the price that breakfast 🤣🤣🤣
