Hey guys it's a guide update for GMT hand installation. Good for the likes of Seiko NH34. If you are lucky ones who can get your hands on this wonderful movement, try out this guide!
I have been modding Seiko and other watches for around 15 years or so. This video is an invaluable resource for new and seasoned watch modders. I wish this had been available 15 years ago. I would have saved myself thousands in broken movements.
For setting the seconds hand I apply a tiny amount of Rodico to the flat seconds hands setting tool . Pick up the hand with the tool and simply install it .. works great 👍🏼
As I wait for my parts to arrive, I'm doing reserch into put my first build together. This is a very good vidoe, well made and to the point. The tips shown here are invaluable. Thank you very much poster as I have much more confedance in me actually succeding in this new venture now.
Absolutely love your video, clear and precise on how to get the GMT hand installed, saving loads of time. Thank you for making such meticulous tutorial video. Cheers mate.
I am an amateur watch repair and build person in retirement. This is a fantastic learning video. I wonder if you would do one on Lume and color design of Lume for us that want colors other than white.
Great stuff. This really helps. I’ll be using a brown Marinemaster dial with gold indices, with gold hands & a rose gold GMT hand in a heavy reliced (forced aged patina) bronze case & rootbeer bezel insert (bleach & coffee stained). However, the center hole on the Marinemaster dial is not large enough for the GMT center posts to go through. Any ideas how widen the hole, without damaging the paint? I was thinking small diamond file? But I’m open to suggestions.
For the setting tool, I opened up a ball point pen and removed the refill. The tip of the empty pen acts like a setting tool. A plastic pen won't scratch the hands.
I saw in your website thay there is GMT sport dresswatch, is that the dial size is 28.5 ? And only black color dial ?, it would be nice if there white version with blue gmt hand
Very nice tutorial! Thanks a lot from Spain!!! Just a question. Which microscope are you using , because unfortunately my eyes are not working very well and this microscope seems great to check the hands. Thanks. Regards

My NH34 mod seconds hand stopped after a month...talking to the seller but figured I should learn how to fix ... are there any common reasons for a Seconds hand to get stuck? Should I be careful when hacking the movement aka changing the GMT, or date, time etc? Basically if I did anything wrong to cause something like that? I have it on a watch winder too.
I spent an inordinate amount of time making this. Those macro shots took ages to make! And we have a guide on removing the crown: ua-cam.com/video/md-z0YZvKkY/v-deo.html And yes same as in NH35.

If you come out with a kit that uses the new Miyota GMT movement(if it is even available), I would buy it immediately.
We were actually debating internally whether to do that or not!

Great video, smooth production.
Your videos are very clear and well done👍🏻
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Very informative, thanks for sharing the knowledge
Best, invaluable, awesome.
Great technique and tips! Thanks
Please do a video on how to change the NH34 date wheel to black!
Good idea! Will do!
At 7:18 we should be careful NOT to wind the crown counter clockwise to which would change the date since the hourhand is close to 12 right?

Hey thanks for the video, very clear and helpful. Where did you get your GMT setting tool or did you make it yourself?
We made it ourselves ;)
