    This is the BEST watch tutorial I have ever seen. This is exactly what a tutorial presentation should be, explain well and indicate well in the video. Thank you so much for the video. You are the BEST.

    I’ve commented on another video but just to say the fantastic macro shots, the coloured highlights, your attention to detail and your ability to explain things simply make this a perfect instructional video for, what is, quite a daunting process for a novice. The best video I’ve seen on this subject by a big margin. Thanks!

    Hello, I’ve now installed the hands and all good, the only thing is I’d say is DONT install the H&M hands at 12 when the day/date changes, reason is (as I’ve now discovered) the day/date starts to change around 11:20/11:30 so it’s all transitioning and muddled when it’s still the same day, far better would be to wind on a few turns after the day/date changes then install the H&M at 12, that way the day/date will change about 1am - 2am or whatever, when most people are asleep, people are still awake at 11:30 and it’s annoying to have the day/date unreadable, I’m going to have to take the movement out again and try to slide the hands round a bit to rectify this, I really don’t want to dislodge the hands or bend them in any way though as it’s a really difficult job to get all 3 to miss each other as they spin round, so yeah my tip is DONT install the hands at 12 when the date transitions but to give the crown a few more turns, Seiko do this themselves for the very reason I mention above, cheers 👍🏻

    I’m just trying to do some DIY work on an old watch I found on eBay. I was able to set the hands with nothing but two pairs of needle nose tweezers, using two pairs tweezers to gently pry the hands off instead of the dedicated tools you used, and was able to set the hands by using the tweezers to gently push down on it.

    On my quartz watch the minute hand is slightly off, i.e. when the minute hand is pointed at "12" the hour hand is not exactly pointed at the hour. Can I simply nudge it to the correct position without removing the hands? Thanks for your advice on this.

  • @jeremyhippenstiel4637
    @jeremyhippenstiel4637 2 роки тому

    Thank you for your videos. I successfully replaced the hands on my dad’s watch as well as a new movement. Then I had to remove the winding stem to re-case it and bent the second hand 😮. How do I not do that again and how do I order new hands?

    • @DIYWatchClub
      @DIYWatchClub  2 роки тому

      Well... just be more careful next time. See what angle you were recasing it and how and where the second hand was bent, and try not to do that next time. Hands are movement-specific. So simply search for the hands for your movement. If it is a common movement you should be able to buy new hands for it. Good luck.
