I’ve been using Gaia GPS since it was actually a start-up endeavor. I’ve viewed dozens if not hundreds of different tutorials over the years. Your Gaia tutorials are perhaps the very best I have ever watched. They are succinct, well planned out, and pertinent. You have a fine skill at instructing. Great work, Sir.

I'm not sure I deserve that kind of praise but I appreciate it very much! Thanks for taking the time to comment. GAIA sure has changed a lot eh?

Thanks for the tutorial on how to organize saved items.
I work in a Hardware store, so organising things into logical groups is second nature to me. (I have about 6,000 hardware product lines that I'm responsible for).
Sure, it initially takes a bit of time and effort to organise things logically and properly, but in the long run it makes it so much faster and easier to locate what you're looking for!

Excellent tutorial. This is an important one because I think with something as intense as GAIA can be people can get scared of it. Organization is the key to success here and can alleviate any of that stress.

I should probably apply my GAIA organizing attitude to my garage 😅

Brilliant video series, thank you so much!
Quick question… is it possible to have the same item, example a track, in two different folders?
    Thanks from South Africa!!

You can but I think the only way is to duplicate that item

Thank you for your detailed videos on using Gaia!
May I ask if you ever ran into issues moving (larger amounts of) data through folders, or experiencing any issues of data not syncing properly to your mobile device are importing or moving larger data sets?
I have been experiencing multiple issues, contacted support about this multiple times, but without finding the cause. They advised me to archive all data I am not using at that moment, which takes away part of the purpose of using something like Gaia.
I'm using a similar number of tracks and Waypoint as you are, as far as I can see.
    Thanks!

Thanks for watching! The only similar issue I've had was with syncing new items a while back but I believe that was a backend issue they were having at the time. I'd contact them again and ask them to escalate the issue, since syncing is a membership feature and all. Also, for your own peace of mind, I suggest exporting all of your data to back it up locally if you haven't yet. I hope you get that resolved.

    Hi Roger. Great vids.
I have quite a few shared folders and routes from others. They show up on the “main folder”. But they also show as read only on the right and I cannot organize them into sub folders or my own. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Actually I said shared, but they are typically downloaded from websites. For instance an off-road park will offer their .gpx or GAIA or OnX maps for download.

I've not encountered GPX data like that myself but if that's the case then the only thing you can really do is to re-create that data yourself.
