UA-cam wont let me like this more than 1 time. And I really like it, not quite in a sick deranged way, but close...I have so frustrated with lack of understanding and lack of patience to learn how to use. Thanks.
Thanks for making this tutorial. At 60 I'm not tech savvy and I was going to get Onx but kept hearing Gaia was better but after checking out your Intro. I went with Gaia so I'm sure ill be watching these a lot till I get the hang of it.
So Glad I found your channel, even "Chapter1 Basic Overview" has been a help already!. I recently purchased a Garmin Zumo XT2 for my Honda ADV Motorcycle. (CB500X). I'd already subscribed to Gaia GPX Maps a couple of months earlier, but I've never fully understood what it can really do. I'm looking very forward to your future videos. Thanks heaps and I have subscribed to your UA-cam channel.
myself I dont care about trails and routes others have saved generally. I go on my own hikes and bike rides out in the desert and want to record and retrieve them and also draw in map often before leaving. all trails is nothing but trouble and am thinking of trying gai gps
Well done, it's been awhile since I started using Gaia GPS. The recent changes caused me some issues; thee videos which are quite good will be helpful. Appreciate your investment of your time.
Great series! I have zero experience overlanding. Question: are there definitions for the road types? What is the terrain expectation of “Minor Roads, etc.?” I have a stock SR5 with highway tires. What rad types can I handle. Planning a trip into WV with my boys (young adults). We will be on our own, so I can’t risk getting stuck. TIA.
The road classifications don't necessarily give you good insight on the actual condition of a road. Sure, you know if it's paved or not but beyond that I don't particularly find it that helpful. For your situation, I suspect that the more helpful thing would be the MVUM and Public Land layers. The MVUM will show you what roads/trails your vehicle can legally be on and the Public Land layer will show you what areas you can be in so that you're not trespassing. As far as road condition and what your vehicle can handle, well, weather can affect that drastically in a short period of time so the only real tool you can rely on is common sense. I might sometime this year. Check the (mostly inactive) facebook group (link is in every video description). If I decide on doing one that'll be where I post details.
My struggle is I love using my old ipad pro with cellular data. Even with it plugged into an cigarette lighter charger. Need at least like 6 hours. If Im close to town its pretty good but out in the desert not so much. Any ideas?

Also use google maps as layer
I find Gaia to run very slow on my computer. Any idea why or how to improve performance.
I don't know how to diagnose that, too many variables
How do I change colors of route on the Gaia app
