- राजशाही के पहले एपिसोड में हमने आपको रानी कर्णावती की कहानी सुनाई. वो रानी कर्णावती जिसने मुग़लिया सेना को न केवल पराजित किया, बल्कि गढ़वाल पर आँख उठाने की सजा देते हुए शाहजहां के सैकड़ों सैनिकों की नाक काट कर उन्हें वापस दिल्ली की ओर मोड़ दिया.
लेकिन दिल्ली और गढ़वाल के बीच की ये लड़ाई यहीं ख़त्म नहीं होती. बल्कि ये लड़ाई इन दोनों रियासतों की अगली पीढ़ी तक भी पहुँचती है. यानी जब मुग़लिया सल्तनत की कमान शाह जहां के बेटे औरंगज़ेब के हाथों में आई और इधर गढ़वाल रियासत की कमान रानी कर्णावती के बेटे पृथ्वीपति शाह ने संभाली.

यह कहानी काफी हद तक सही है पर इस कहानी का एक अध्याय यह भी है की गढ़वाल के राजा के पास शरण लेने से पहले सुलेमान शिखों कुमाऊं के चंद्र राजाओं के पास भी शरण लेने आया था और चंद्र राजाओं ने उसे शरण दे भी दी थी पर जब औरंगजेब के वहां से पत्र आने पर और उसे वापस दिल्ली भेजे भेजे जाने पर और ना भेजने पर युद्ध का सामना करने के चलते । चंद्र राजाओं ने उसे गढ़वाल की तरफ शरण मांगने के लिए भेज दिया उसके बाद ही दारा शिकोह का पुत्र सुलेमान सीखो गढ़वाल के राजा के पास शरण लेने आया और गढ़वाल के राजा पृथ्वी परेशान ने सुलेमान शिखों को शरण दे दी ।

ये कमाल की गढ़वाली बोलते हैं इस बात में कोई आश्रय तो नही है !! क्योंकि कोई भी बाहरी व्यक्ति या समाज किसी नई जगह में बसता है तो उसे वहां की भाषा और रीति रिवाज अपनाने ही पड़ते हैं नहीं तो वे उस नई जगह में अपना तालमेल नहीं बैठा पाएंगे। हम पहाड़ी लोग इस बात को बड़े गर्व से बोलते हैं कि फलां आदमी अच्छी गढ़वाली या कुमाऊनी बोलता है जबकि वो वहां का मूल निवासी नही है। लेकिन हमारा समाज खुद अपनी इन बोलियों से दूर होता जा रहा है। आज उत्तराखंड के शहरों में रहने वाले पहाड़ी लोगों को छोड़ो वहां गांव में रहने वाले अपनी बोली में बात करने से कतराते हैं देश के अन्य शहरों में रहने वाले पहाड़ियों की बात तो छोड़िए। वहां के किसी स्थानीय नेता को भी आपने कभी अपनी बोली में भाषण देते या बतियाते नही देखा/सुना होगा। हिंदी और अन्य दूसरी भाषा बोलने में उत्तराखंड के लोग अपनी शान समझते हैं लेकिन अपनी पहाड़ी बोलने में अपना अपमान!! पता नही किस और क्यों हमारे पहाड़ी लोग अपनी बोलियों के प्रति हीन भावना से ग्रसित हैं और उनकी अपनी बोली के प्रति उदासीनता के भाव ने हमारी इन पहाड़ी बोलियों के अस्तित्व को खतरे में डाल दिया है और ये लुप्त होने की कगार पर पहुंच गई हैं यूनेस्को के सर्वे में भी ये साबित हो चुका है। अगर समय रहते हमारे पहाड़ वासी न समझे तो हमारी पहचान और संस्कृति लुप्त हो जायेगी। क्योंकि किसी भी क्षेत्र की संस्कृति तभी बची रह सकती है जब उस क्षेत्र की बोली भाषा जीवित रहे। अभी भी हम अपनी इन प्यारी बोलियों को बचा सकते हैं क्योंकि अभी इन बोलियों को बोलने वाली हमारी आखिरी पीढ़ी अस्तित्व में है। यदि हम ऐसा न कर पाए तो हमारी संस्कृति और हमारी ये प्यारी बोलियां अपना अस्तित्व खो देंगी। समय रहते समझ जाइए नही तो बाद में सिर्फ पछताना पड़ेगा। जय उत्तराखण्ड। जय हिन्द।

Misleading title. Suleman and his men were PRISONERS.He didn't settle in UK , neither did Muslims. Uttarakhand is the only part of North India where Muslims couldn't invade. There are no Muslims in Uttarakhand traditionally. They just don't become natives . They are prisoners and not natives. You didn't even talk about how most of them had integrated with the local sanatani natives completely and the fact that saying not many did meat product work in Garhwal and just plain wrong. Meat is a traditional food item in Garhwal.

@New no. Garhwal and Kumaon were never under any mughal rule. They defeated all mughal invasions that fell on them
@New not under delhi sultanat too. All mainland invasions by muslim invaders failed in GarhKumo. Only gorkhas managed to occupy GarhKumo for 12 and 24 years and were defeated when British and GarhKumo made an alliance to team up.
@New garhwal and Kumaon are basically unknown in this country and have been independent since 600-1804 1816-1950. Other than the 12 and 24 year gorkha occupation period these two kingdoms that make up UK were never under any foreign invaders. That's why the frustration among pahadis exist. What even aurangzeb could not do, mainland national parties have done in 70 years. We are the only himalayan state denied himalayan rights and almost started a Civil war in the 90s as Uttrakhand's demands and end of UP occupation was in demand for more than 100 years. First given by Kumaon Parishad to The Queen of England.
@New gorkhas. I won't say nepal exactly as Only the Gorkha Army had occupied Garhwal between 1804 -1816 and Kumaon between 1791-1816. As Nepal's kings orders for the betterment of treatment for GarhKumaonis was rejected by the gorkhas. Someone in Kumaon's court had given information about forts to Gorka army and the famine and earthquake of 1804 in Garhwal were the reason for Gorka Occupation in Kumaon and Garhwal. The son of thd Garhwali king went to British forces in India and asked them to aid them in fighting the Gorkha army in Garhwal and Kumaon, resulting in the treaty of Sagaulli (Britain won't take over Nepal and Nepal had to move out of Garhwal, Kumaon and Sikkim).
I personally have nothing against Nepal as a country. Their army in Their GarhKumo expedition had gone over the wall and started human rights violations as they were frustrated by the outdated armies of Garhwal and Kumaon managing to defeat them initially.
Gorkha army of Nepal was more modern, had British style uniforms, a British rank system and Payment system too. While Garhwal and Kumaon maintained a smaller army and relied more on calling local malitias under smaller chiefs.

This seems to be a communist channel bhulla. Check their videos on UKD, it's all doubts. Some things in these videos are straight up wrong. Like how they ignore tha fact that most of these run away prisoners had assimilated into local sanatani people and how Meat is a traditional food item in UK and almost everyone in village makes it.

They presented their first video on a commie in a good light and all their UKD video is about doubts about UKD. and in this video they call prisoners as natives and ignore the fact that most of them who settled here had mixed with local sanatani natives . They also lie about the meat. Meat is traditionally eaten here and every pahadi from UK eats meat traditionally. In villages to this day you, irrespective of caste or gender, cook your meat in your house and prepare the animal yourself. Idk how tf did they come to the conclusion "Garhwal me maas prepare karne walle kam hai".

Quoting the Venetian traveller in Mughal court, Niccolao Manucci:
"Dara lost support of his closest friends even when he was in Delhi. Such was his nature."
This was his state even when his father Shah Jahan had power over the Mughal Empire.
Dara Shikoh's son, *Suleiman Shikoh*, took refuge in Garhwal after his father's defeat in the Battle of Samugarh on May 29, 1658.
Dara and his sons initially fled to Agra. But after Aurangzeb laid seige to the city, Dara and his younger son Siphir escaped to Lahore while the elder son Suleiman moved to Garhwal.
After the seige was lifted, Khalilullah Khan, long time ally of Dara Shikoh, swore his loyalty to Aurangzeb.
This is the same commander who wrecked havoc in Doon Valley from 1654 to 1655. It proves his military prowess and geographical control of the area surrounding Garhwal.
ऊपर दिए तथ्यों से तीन बातें स्पष्ट है :-
• दारा शिकोह के समर्थक निम्न मात्रा में थे।
• आगरा को चारो ओर से घेरा जा चुका था।
• खलीलुल्लाह खान, जिसका गढ़वाल राज्य के निकटवर्ती क्षेत्रों पर बाहुल्य था, अब औरंगज़ेब के प्रति निष्ठावान था।
इन बातों से सुलेमान शिकोह द्वारा एक-दो गांव जितने बड़े काफिले के साथ यात्रा कर गढ़वाल पहुंचना असंभव एवं विसंगत लगता है।
तथा उस काल में मुसलमानों के गढ़वाल आवास की व्याख्या भी त्रुटिपूर्ण प्रतीत होती है।
