- It's back in the scrap wood pile to knock up another little project. During the winter it's sometimes a struggle to keep nice clean eggs when the chickens are free ranging. These tray inserts I had lying around are an inexpensive solution and the drawer system makes things even easier! Of course, if you wanted, you could make a sloped ply box yourself. 👍

Building really positive family memories during lockdown, the girls will always remember the time they built a chicken house with dad, very well done for being so patient.

I absolutely love how you are teaching the girls all along the way.
As taught by a wise man who had cows a neighbor was chiding with him of how much slower & less productive it was to have his boys there helping. The man with a sweet gentle grin told him "Do you think I was raising cows? No I'm raising boys."

This is lovely! We have an egg eater and my wife bought one of these black things, so came here to see how to integrate it into a nest box. I also have two little girls and a ramshackle workshop 😂

Fabulous video the girls are wonderful and so very willing and helpful and very good with the maths. I wish that I could have done the same with my sons they didn’t have any enthusiasm when it came to doing projects together and soon lost interest. But thier Dad isn’t doing DIY day in day out, and my DIY skills are poor.☹️

Justin’s plans are 👍, a mobile coop is great if you are running hens over fields, in our garden set up it’s a little different so will show another option I guess. For us it’s all about keeping things simple, clean and efficient rather than a super pretty poultry palace that is a pain to clean out and full of mites. 😂

Nice video Tim i've got chicks and ducks if the floor of the pen is wood put some sort of mesh reinforcement underneath thats how the foxes get in.👍🍺

An egg a day this time of year. We have 8 at the moment but will get a few more before winter.
