Thanks guys this is very helpful as I am doing the 4R70W conversion in my 66 Mustang.
Great Video as always. I have a Snap-on 3 foot long, 3/8" extension that's perfect for reaching those top bolts on the transmission, I drilled a 1/2" hole in the front corner of my tool box, dropped the extension in, and the storage problem is solved. Cam, tell Santa you want one for Christmas. And the next time you have a parade, make sure you include the rest of us, everyone loves to watch a parade!
HAHAHAHAHA we'd had THREE straight interruptions. The last one was the missus, so we had a send up.

I think an alternate plan would be to tap it for NPT and install a flush plug. Great series, it shows that stuff rarely works out like we hope, more time, money, and parts, etc.. Thanks for sharing!

Within a few years, 5.0 Mustang Parts, Suspensions, Engines, Tracks - entire Racing Series - DEVOTED to that little Car.
I truly loved that Car. I would give ANYTHING to have another. Mostly Stock, apart from 8.8" Rear and late 90's Exploder (GT40!!!). I tinker with it, reliving the best of times for me.
Won't happen though. Even IF I could get Money... The only 82s I've seen for sale within 1000 miles - are either rusted out, banged up Shitboxes that SHOULD have been put out of their misery and crushed...
Or the nearly pristine, even some under 1000mi Shelf Queens, for between $12,000 and $35,000. 😭😭

Good channel guys! I've been looking for an flexplate for my 351 Cleveland with fmx transmission. Having a hard time.
I hear ya. Tons of flex plates on the market. If xou mean the block plate or separator plate, I found two on eBay
Will it be possible to tone down the heavy metal so it has the same level as the speak?
We are trying to figure out how that is happening. We have two music services, one is "louder" and when it uploads, it wipes the volume control out. Pisses me off.

Cam actually did it by hand and said "click" but the audio was so crap I couldn't use it.

Have you guys ever done a swap on an FE involving an adapter plate to run a later model 4 speed automatic?
I've honestly looked at that idea. But I'm more likely to go to Lintech lentechautomatics.com to get an AOD for the F 100. They offer an SFI bellhousing equipped 4R70W that we would probably want for the truck.
What was the torque specifications for the four nuts that attach the converter to the flex plate? Do you put loctite on the threads to prevent them from loosening?
If if you use the correct nuts they are a lock nut and don't require locktite. Torque spec is 20 to 33 foot pounds depending on the 4R70 that you use. I'd lean towards 20 as that is what I see most often.
No transmission fluid on the end of the converter, to prevent burning up the seal?
He did but the camera went soft focus on the one that showed it.
You say in this video that the vent won’t be an issue for the install on a Mustang. I’m assuming you are talking about a classic Mustang, say a 67?

Don't agree John. Neither do the algorithms. Dead silence is a killer. I just wish that the interface between my computer and the upload would stay the same. I keep the music quieter, UA-cam turns up the volume when it uploads. And since the two music services we use are different, I can't just put the stuff at one volume and forget it. Sorry it is louder than normal though, I can't do anything to fix it...no I won't do away with the music. 🙂
