@@tinrats the gloves have not been updated. The new connection is that the suite now has wires that will run to the gloves and can. Is all be powered by one battery unit.
I am very happy to see Rokoko is reducing the overtime inertial drift and the fact you mentioned VTubing/livestreaming performances. I would love to know if you guys can benchmark Smartsuit Pro II for a typical livestreaming scenario and measure how frequent the streamer needs to recalibrate the suit. It would be nice to add more calibration poses as well, like when sitting (it would be weird for a Let's Play streamer to stand up once in a while to calibrate).
This looks like a good overall improvement, Sam! Great video! :) I’m really hoping for some sort of support for a 3d tracking solution for the gloves, though. That would really change things. Without being able to clap, pick things up, or accurately interact with things, the glove recordings take a long time to clean up and end up basically being keyframe animated. 🤷♂️

Yes!!!! And I'm glad I waited for this, especially for more durability, and higher frame rate capture. The ONLY thing I ask is the ability to export my data in different framerates out of the gate... Hi Rokoko!! I have a doubt I have seen on your website that the software license with "Smartsuit pro I"I is included for the first year. Does that mean it is no longer a lifetime software license like the old "smartsuit pro"? If so, what is the price of the software license annually? Greetings
I don't mean to criticize but I worked a lot with their old suit and have to give an honest accounting since this video mentioned only one fix to many outstanding issues with Smartsuit version one. The suit can get interference from concrete floors under mats or metal piping in walls. We had to go record our sessions in public parks to get better accuracy. They also don't mention if they fixed the amount of times calibration forces you to remove the suit entirely to recalibrate it at random or all the firmware update bug requests that happen. The last suit was only compatible with lower USB port versions. Not worth the headache if they didn't fix anything of the major problems it had. Even the naming conventions generated by the studio software doesn't align to programs like motion builder (why name it "right shin" when all these programs list it as "right leg" for mapping?). The company could probably benefit from reading forum feedback on issues that are preexisting from the old build. We literally are looking for a better replacement at our college, please let us know of any suggestions.
Highly recommend getting VR and trackers, Ive had the rokoko suit for about a year now and recently switched to that. Massive upgrade in every area. Aside from the personal issues that I had (my suits legs just didnt work half the time) -You dont have to stand. Rokoko simply doesnt work when your feet arent on the ground. With trackers you can lie down, spin around on your head, whatever. as long as the trackers are visible for the base station youre golden. -the tracker based capture is INCREDIBLY more consistent compared to rokoko where your limbs or the entire character start slowly drifting away after like 30 seconds of capture. -The suit is not comfortable and not at all convenient. Rokoko likes saying it is, but its a fullbody skintight suit. You will not want to put it on because its a hassle, and in summer it will fry you alive. -rokokos app is barebones and you will have to pay 20 A MONTH for basic features. This is using mocap fusion VR (do a little digging because its hard to find but worth it.) Things that I didnt realize I needed until I got them: being able to play back previously recorded mocap while recording new mocap. With VR you can literally see the character(s) youre supposed to reacting to, and it makes acting so much easier. More on this point: you can customize characters location, scale and avatar. If youre doing something like an orc interacting with a human you can record yourself as an orc, make your human avatar small and you will be extremely immersed while recording. You can add reference that plays when you press record which is extremely helpful when youre recording alone. Also, it will record your mic and handles it all in a convenient way without being a buggy mess (rokokos reference system is that 100%) I could write probably another 2 pages of minor issues that I ran into, but these are the ones that I can think of right now. After a year of use, I would give rokoko a 2 out of 10.

Actually I was thinking that I would ask/pay the creator of the program to add smartgloves support so that *might* be added

this is probably the only improvement that we expect from the smartsuit today ... with the current model, even under optimal magnetic field conditions, we still encounter the same problems ... But hey, for the moment , I think it is the best value for money.
The biggest problem I see with some of the reviewers! Is lack of understanding of MoCap Suits! Unfortunately most people don’t understand how a MoCap work and what are the expectations of it! Think of it this way, imagine you took a saw to cut a piece of pipe. After cutting that pipe there are sharp edges, so you need to file it down to smooth it out! The difference between theses suits is that some suits need more filing than others! Also keep in mind that experience and understanding the suit is extremely important!

Heyo! Yes, if you have a good compositing workflow for overlaying your character afterwards, then you can do this! How snug should the fit be? I have wide shoulders and had a really tough time getting out of the suit. Haha almost pulled a muscle trying to wiggle it over my shoulders without tearing any material. It does feel well constructed but I'm wondering if repeated stress of putting on/removing will take its toll over time. I'm 5'10 180 pounds and I got the medium size. Maybe I needed a large???

If you are still within the 30 days of receiving the suit, you can get the textile swapped for a larger size if you write to customersuccess@rokoko.com. The data from Studio is in FK (Forward Kinematic), which applies rotations to the bones to mimic the motions of the actor, instead of attempting to match a single target per limb as IK does.

Is it possible to create the same type of sensors that you have for the hands also be applied to the toes. This way you can bend and wiggle toes or arch a foot. Instead of feet having a stiff movement?

While we do not have a hands-on example of this, it should be totally doable as you just have to remain connected to the WiFi to transmit the data. Interesting idea!

But I don't consider this some toy product, it's a long term investment on my end to build my own products, if I could afford to just pay animators I would do that, but I do this to make myself more productive. This is the second time I've felt frustrated with Rokoko's sales strategies. I got sent a coupon for a discount on the gloves after I had already ordered it 2 months beforehand. I asked if I could apply the discount for my order(which ended up taking about 5 months to arrive), and they denied the request which is fine whatever. To Rokoko, just don't send me the sales email in the first place, all you're doing is frustrating me. Keep sending me emails saying that I'm a 'valued customer'. $3500 dollars later, great I can make some impulse purchase to spend another $2200 and have 1 less effective suit that collects dust. I'm not here to troll Rokoko, just to inform anyone who's going to drop a wad on cash on these products that with this company probably just wait until they send you sales emails before ever buying anything because you'll be waiting months for your shipment to arrive anyways.

I'm glad people are excited the product is getting an upgrade but I just got this thing a few months back and I would have just waited had I known this was coming, it's pretty frustrating for something so expensive
@@kvickart i guess that kinda happens sadly. i mean theres not much they can do. they cant really stop sales for a few months. to be generous they even delayed everyones current orders until they could announce the smart suit 2 and that theyll upgrade everyone who's suits are still in shipping.
@@kyanhudson6831 Yeah I understand that they need to clear out their old inventory and keep the business running. But I don't consider this some toy product, it's a long term investment on my end to build my own products, if I could afford to just pay animators I would do that, but I do this to make myself more productive.
This is the second time I've felt frustrated with Rokoko's sales strategies. I got sent a coupon for a discount on the gloves after I had already ordered it 2 months beforehand. I asked if I could apply the discount for my order(which ended up taking about 5 months to arrive), and they denied the request which is fine whatever. To Rokoko, just don't send me the sales email in the first place, all you're doing is frustrating me. Keep sending me emails saying that I'm a 'valued customer'. $3500 dollars later, great I can make some impulse purchase to spend another $2200 and have 1 less effective suit that collects dust.
I'm not here to troll Rokoko, just to inform anyone who's going to drop a wad on cash on these products that with this company probably just wait until they send you sales emails before ever buying anything because you'll be waiting months for your shipment to arrive anyways.
