Peryite not being very active is very much in style with him being a very Anuic character, in that his whole thing is about the maintenance of 'the natural order'. So naturally a character of stasis would be fitting. As to his role as 'taskmaster', perhaps it is meant that he oversees that things are carried out as they are needed to for natural order to be maintained?
I got so happy when the notification popped up, I've always felt like I don't know enough about Peryite and that there is so much to be curious about when it comes to him. 0:44 have you ever considered covering some of the more interesting and probable (in your opinion) theories on the channel? I'd love to watch such a series.
Yay! I was just thinking about Peryite the other day. He confuses me; he is the taskmaster and concerned with natural order, yet he only seems to manifest on Mundus through diseases and plagues, which doesn't really connect in my head. I suppose it could be population control, but...wait, what if it's less about the population on Mundus and more about having enough souls in Oblivion? Which would then make sense of why he doesn't seem to care about mortals unless he is causing the deaths of large numbers of them. Perhaps he uses souls somehow in keeping the Oblivion realms separate?
My favorite part about ES lore is that no one ever blames the game’s writers for an inconsistency or hole. It’s either an unreliable narrator or something lost to time, like the title “Taskmaster.” It makes the lore feel incredibly immersive and realistic
A guy in my group has a theory that Peryite wants to position himself to be the chief god of the next kalpa as this is the only way to truly accomplish his purpose
Peryite to me feels very similar to a divine, they don't really ACTIVELY do things, are considered weak, and are necessary to Mundus. What I feel like this video misses is how his rot and pestilence isn't entirely a bad thing at all, when a tree dies, it's carcass is host to all sorts of necessary life we don't normally think about, mushrooms, bugs, even diseases. these can help break down the tree and fertilize the soil so the next tree that takes it's place is healthy, same thing applies to animals too, this is sort of supported by how legends about Kyne (The human version of Kynareth) gives the souls of skevers and other vermin when they die, which you can see during dialog with Peryite in TES5 Skyrim. to me he feels like an inroads of Arkay with life prospering off the dead, and Kynareth with his sphere helping nature thrive, as well as you put it with him being an Oblivion equivalent to Akatosh. He may be a Daedra, but he doesn't really act like one at all, and that's why he's my favorite Daedric prince.
I have always loved Peryite, probably because I have a personality of liking things that few other people do. I just enjoy the mysterious & obscure stuff in the Elder Scrolls, and in life. I’m really kind of a hipster I guess lol.
Applying a gender to the Deadra is like applying a color to a thought. Sure, it might help you conceptualize the thing- but it's not inherent to it. They're just forces of reality. The embodiment of concepts.
I know. I’m really starting to think that the Sload created this plague to wipe us all out. They must have manifested themselves in our world using some foul magic, and are probably hiding out on some uncharted island in the middle of the Pacific.
The biggest joke ever told would be to find out that Peryite is Akatosh, conspiring with Lorkahn against Auriel and Alduin. That's how you shit post kids.
@@Fortniteloverepic by that logic, ALL Aedra, daedra, and the rest of the spirits "appear" in their forms, as akatosh as a dragon isn't his real solid form either. Akatosh created dragons. @@Fortniteloverepic and the form mocking is just speculative, as that is what some mortals believes, just as they believe he is evil, and the "WEAKEST" daedric prince. So.....
Peryite. The taskmaster - 'weak', as 'work' may be delegated, inevitable, serviceable, obedient, ill favored, or just ill. Not usually considered the Prince of Fun. A god of ecology, literally the god of binomial nomenclature. Who steps on who, what eats what, which one is the bigger fish - and how is this order maintained, to what large picture, goal, certitude, choice, ideal? Peryite is the master of this tasking, the taskmaster of ecological niche. So the question is, just how weak or strong - just how much influence, power, swiftness of change, precarious affectation, can this lord incur, manifest, represent, cause, task, or be associated with? Ignominious. Ignominy. Given this word's confluence with connotation, one can easily see how those who deem work as not fun and something to be delegated to the weak could likely be those to consider Peryite weak, a reactive power, steeped in the pits of duty, compared to most if not all other daedric princes, given Jyggalag's, err, imposed condition. In these thoughts perhaps Malacath is a relatable lord, given alternative views of work and morale. That work is to be delegated to the weak is perhaps a more Altmer view, perhaps even Thalmor. But this is not an entire truth, only a stereotyping on what was already layered to be so. The conservation of ecology is much more than any one solid point to pin down. The equation itself may change. And there will be Peryite.
Natural order is not the same as the concept of order. Natural order is the natural state of being. Jygglag is the Daedric Prince of the concept of order, so very simply put. Jygglag would want seven rabbits to stand in a meticulous line, while peryite would want them to just live as they are intended to within the natural order of things.
Peyrite seems to be having a good year in 2020
hahahahaha 11/10 comment
Dude 2020 is the oblivion crisis for Peyrite. Except instead of the mythic dawn we have the Republican party.
So was I, too bad it didn't take it more scum.

I'm glad someone finally covered Peryite properly
Bro.
Sheogorath must be a fucking *headache* to deal with, for Peryite.

I'm pretty sure that's just the name of the cultists we meet in Skyrim. Other groups would have different names.
