Oh shit, I accidentally had my mic test at the beginning. Have edited it out with youtube editor but that takes some time. Sorry to the people that still hear it :(
The book that Xarxes was instructed to write by Hermaeous Mora was the Oghma Infinium. The book Mysterium Xarxes was written by Mehrunes Dagon himself, and was the Daedric Artifact that Mankar Camoran used to become Dragonborn, create his own plane of Oblivion called Camoran's Paradise, and is also what inspired him to use his followers as servants to kill the emporer and open Oblivion Gates in Tamriel, causing the Oblivion Crisis.
One comment - I'm yet to see anything that indicates that the Heart of Lorkhan was actually destroyed at the end of TES3. All the dialogue I can find talks about the Nerevarine destroying the Dwemer enchantments that were placed on the Heart, not the Heart itself. And as Auriel and various other et'ada couldn't destroy it, I doubt that any mortal could manage it.
It seems like in order to learn everything he wants he actually kills them and absorbs their knowledge. Unless Septimus death and the Skaal's death was different. It definitely looks like he killed the Skaal leader and just stole everything he knew, so maybe that is why he killed Septimus? Of course like you said, having a monopoly on knowledge is a big thing for him as well. Also I think he wanted the box opened so that his book was given to the world again, since that is one of his artifacts. I do think you have a point that he wanted to know how the box is opened as well, but I think there is a lot more to it than just that. Although I could be wrong since he seems to want everything, even the smallest bit of information.
I just found your videos and have already started binge-watching them! Could you do a video on Shalidor? The events in both Skyrim and ESO have left me hazy on the details.
I agree with your theory competently I haven’t even thought about why he wouldn’t just take the book. Also I am a new viewer just found your channel subbed
I've always seen it as being very different, partly because the instant you use the book it vanishes from your inventory and returns to Apochrapha, partially because of the lore involving the Dwemmer. they could defy the Gods themselves with their own technology, you'd think that when the Daedra heard of the Dwemmer insulting them, they'd send a plague a horde or just annihilate them, but they didn't. Why? Well the Dwemmer knew enough to block all attempts and as the Lockbox itself is larger on the inside than on the outside. I think that without the door being open, no one could get in, no Daedra, no Aedra, no one, it was temporally and physically locked.
+Daemon Sadi I think all are about evenly strong, if any gain any upperhand I think it because of their personalities. Like sheogorad's randomness or mora's knowledge
The mysterium xarxes is the book Mehrunes Dagon gave Mankar camoran in oblivion. It has nothing to do with Hermaeus Mora. I think u confused it with the oghma infinium.
A great and informative video! I learned a few things of the lore from it. The meme at the end almost made me sputter my tea on the laptop, though... XD
On the theory...Hermaeus mora is alive or more like is or exist at the Time of the dwemer who made the box. If the dwemer knew Hermaeus Mora probably knows...doesnt Make much sense that He would want to know how to Open the box he probably knows such a simple thing. What does the daedric Lord of knowledge wanted from septimus ? Act as a protector for its artififact for the unworthy of the artifact and helper as far as the openning of the box, for the worthy a.k.a Player or dragonborn. We sure all know what hermaeus mora wants from the last of the dragonborn.... Replace miraak who is trying to escape anyway. What do u guys think ?
Hopefully the last dragonborn will achieve chim cause after the events of the dragonborn dlc that's about the only way he'll be able to escape from hermaus mora...
Was I not paying enough attention (if so, sorry) or did you completely skip over the part about old Hermaeus More not actually being a Daedric Prince (Like how Meridia isn't one either)? - he was originally made by Sithis to spy on the Daedric Princes by posing as one then got drunk on power and betrayed Sithis to keep his power. I remember reading a book in Oblivion about it.
Holy shit you replied, but no Azathoth existed since 1938, and Yog Sogoth existed since 1941, I just meant his design though. He's still probably my favorite Daedric Prince.

Amazing video as per, good sir! Love the mic test at the start. 😉
I got off on it.
Mic tests are my fetish
Gaiden Shinji of the Diagna you bet
I really like the intro, it's well edited, and the video obviously

The Mysterium Xarxes is Mehrunes Dagon's artifact. Xarxes wrote the Oghma Infinium

Makes sense that HM wanted to find out how to open the lockbox. After all, he did call it "infernal", which indicates that he is quite annoyed by it.

Take a shot every time he says knowledge

Thanks again for the TES Lore! Always appreciated

There are tons of videos on the strongest daedra, so I’m curious. Whom do you think is the strongest aedra? Possible video idea?

A good point. Though it seems some are more hands on in the world than others. Look at Akatosh sending his Avatar.
Daemon Sadi
Talos
Lorkhan/Shor since he tricke all foo the other aedra into creating mundus and giving up mos of their power in the process.
Daemon Sadi Talos is the most powerful. He both mantled Shor/Lorkhan and attained CHIM. He didn't have to give up any power like the other Aedra
"In his rare dealings with mortals, he often chooses to appear as a grotesque mass of tentacles"
This is better than fudgemupet
Yo man keep up the amazing work

Bethesda loves their Lovecraft mythos

Can we get a video on what happened to the heart of lorkhan cause the heart said that it is part of nirn and it can not be fully destroyed

Hello UA-cam:D
A nerd hentai lover
I love your videos dude, keep it up! But, your intro is way too long.
I know, I am making a shorter version, I had one of the old intro, but still working on the new one. Sorry for the inconvenience
Imperial Knowledge I think it's awesome
I would Love Mora a lot more if he wasn't a Blatant fucking H.P. Lovecraft rip off.
+SuperMasterJuice Didn't tes Daggerfall exist before that? So it should be the other way around
Holy shit you replied, but no Azathoth existed since 1938, and Yog Sogoth existed since 1941, I just meant his design though. He's still probably my favorite Daedric Prince.
Cut your intro by about two minutes
