      That's really disrespectful to neighbors. Consider a neighbor play some music you would really not like at high volumes and don't care what you think. Or you live in an apartment.. Respect of others' is very important. I adore AC/DC and Rush, and I like them at high volume, but because I respect others, I also ask my neighbors if my music was too loud, or I use Headphones or something like that. But still not at high volume because I care about my hearing for years to come.

      The band actually had a Bell forged for recording & several tours.
      The record label thought AC/DC needed a vacation after 6 years touring & loss of Bon so shipped band to Caribbean studio. However a hurricane hit the island & a machete wielding serial killer was loose on the island. That inspired this song.

    Angus took on the role of the "School Boy" outfit early in advent of AC DC and then just stuck to it. His "Strut" that he uses on stage, not so much in this video but much like he used in Thunderstruck was borrowed or was rather inspired by Chuck Berry.

    Bon is the one who mentioned Brian to Angus and Malcolm. Brian was the lead singer of the band Geordie. Bon went to their concert and was very impressed with Brian. Bon simply loved how Brian sang. Rumor has it that Bon's family suspected that Bon was thinking about quitting ACDC and show business. He was getting tired of the Road and was thinking about settling down and becoming a family man. Unfortunately, Bon was always drinking to deal with his loneliness and he died before he could make up his mind. (This story comes directly from Bon's brother). As far as Brian's voice changing to sound like Bon's, no he already sang this way when he was with Geordie. ACDC if anything changed their music some in order to fit better to Brian's abilities. ACDC actually took on a harder sound. Bon's voice was different. He could not have made the Back in Black album sound as good as it was with Brian. The instrumentation would have had to accommodate Bon's cleaner voice.

    • @crh4878
      @crh4878 Рік тому +3

      I think "Mutt" Lange is the one who pushed Brian to sing those high notes (per Brian in an interview). Mutt did the same with Joe Elliot with the records he produced with Def Leppard. Elliot attests that Mutt pushed him to tears to get those high notes for the album Hysteria. Being the perfectionist, Mutt would have Def Leppard do several takes for a song, taking them to their limits.
      Malcolm Young didn't like Mutt's process and didn't like the way he "sheened" AC/DC up (Mutt spent hours getting the perfect drum sounds for the For Those About To Rock album for example). This lead AC/DC to go more raw and less polished for the Flick Of The Switch album without the aid of someone like "Mutt" Lange.

    Brian and Bon sounds so different, even if there are small parts in their singing that is pretty similar. Howerever, they both fits in the bands sound so well. What I think is incredible is how they knew Brian should fit in (whoever it was to recommend him for the band), as he was doing a totally different thing in Geordie. In AC/DC he's singing in a way he had never done before (as far as I know).

    Hi Maggie, I`m a 70 year old rocker. Have been playing drums all my life and in my opinion AC/DC is the greatest party band on the planet. There are a few others but I don`t think they can top this band. Like your reactions very much and love your voice. Ted

    One of the secrets to AC/DCs energy is their drummer, Phil Rudd. Phil is often underrated by those who don't know. Phil has got swing. Most rock drummers don't have that. Phil can swing the beat, he makes you wanna move.

      I've said the same thing,other bands will have one or two remembered. But ACDC will be remembered. I'm 60 now and over the years I've met kids who were in their 20s who are probably 30,40,50 that raved about ACDC and I'd imagine there's a new generation watching UA-cam thinking the same and into the future generations.

    ACDC's 'energy' comes from their rhythm guitar heavy riffs. Malcolm Young is one of the best rhythm guitarists of all time. He had a somewhat special style involving playing open chords through a series of multiple Marshall amps, utilising low volume/low gain but 'amplified UP' by the series of amps.

    I bought Back in Black on day of release back in 1980. This is the first track. It blew my mind. Wow. Yes, Brian Johnson sings at the top of his range for AC/DC and he's been doing that since 1980! Hells Bells is a fantastic song. I last saw Brian Johnson on the Black Ice Tour in 2009, when he was in his 60s, and he was fantastic - the best he had sounded for years.

      Ohhhhhhh Brian it’s gonna be so 😮😮😮😮 and Elmo is gonna be so 😂😂😂😂 with Brian. When this album came out was like pure insult to the rock music world. No one before dared to make that. Was criticized by everyone, like too noisy or “ forget it that’s not music and you aren’t a singer “ 😢😢😢😢 but the time frame was perfect, was the time when the Classic rock dead already and the world was full of blended music, funky, disco, jazz and many singers were using orquestas. The rock music needed a spark to lit the rocket. Was critical times for the heavy metal and their sub genres 😊😊😊😊

  • @johnboiacca8680
    @johnboiacca8680 Рік тому

    Yes, there is a reason why ACDC songs convey the massive amount of "raw energy" we all know and love. They mastered the use of a few musical trick such as power chords, major fourth intervals and the perfect overlapping of three musical layers: a super-solid, almost machine-like rhythmic base (the frequent use of "pedale" bass lines also helps), upbeat, controtempo guitar riffs and the screaming, raspy voice of Brian Johnson. There's a very interesting videp by Rick Beato describing this in detail.
