Some people might just think it’s a number but you have a right to be proud! You’ve come so far with your channel. I remember watching you when you were still doing nursing, and only doing plants on the side. It’s so awesome you were able to take it full-time and get as far as you have. And you work so hard! I watched Knotdude’s in depth flat mites vid and afterwards, I found flat mites in three of my Hoya. Best luck to you! I since only a few of my plants were affected, I gave them a castile soap bath, chopped and started them over. And they’re growing again!

I loved your idea of decorating your painted lady with christmas light so much that I decorated my 3ft tall silver torch cactus with lights and it is THE BEST THING IVE EVER DONE! I think im going to keep the lights on it until summer when it goes back outside! :D thank you for the fun idea!

Fern, you can get a deflector to put on your heat vent so that the hot air goes out into the room as opposed to straight up in the air. That should help your plants.
As a latecomer to your vids, I am still catching up on the backlog, (should be done sometime next year. 😝). I wish I had the talent to skillfully articulate how crucial the hard-earned knowledge you share has been to my obsession/enjoyment. 🖖 When I started converting over 200 houseplants to semi-hydro your sharing your journey and knowledge about plants, lighting, propagation, semi-hydro mediums, moss poles, and pests made a huge impact on my adventure. It may not be a good thing to encourage me but it has been inspirational. As a side bonus, I can savor the presentation style and format. 🙏 BTW the Vancouver area is one of the most beautiful places in North America and I am jealous of the extra month of rainy days you get compared to Michigan.

I haven’t tried the sulfur treatment, but I did try Adam Not Dude’s dipping method with 130+ degree water with my Hoyas I suspected of flat mites and that DID work like a charm! They’re now putting out normal healthy leaves again. Alsoooo, you inspired me to get a Phil. Majestic and oh my…I am so in love with it!

I am obsessed with your Gloriosum! I had gotten a one-leaf cutting and started to lose hope of it growing and just recently when I came back from vaca it started growing!! the little baby leaf is so precious hands down my fav plant right now 🤪🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hooray for 100k! Your hard work is paying off! You make having a UA-cam business seem effortless. For the Tnenanthe I have lost variegation in lower light but it always comes back in higher light. I think it seems stable but light dependent. If you have room near the sol tech light or the window I bet it would go crazy with variegation. Be careful acclimating bc they will burn if you go too fast. It’s the most resilient and least fussy of the prayer type plants I agree. Thank you for sharing!

Congratulations Fern on hitting 100k subscribers. I just want to add regarding the Sulphur treatment NOT to apply it to anything that has been treated with anything oil based such as Neem or Horticultural Soap. You need to leave a minimum of 30 days before applying any Sulphur as it causes Phytotoxicity. Beacuse the mites suck out the sap affecting the Chlorophyll it causes sudden leaf yellowing and dropping. You can also add Sulphur to the top of the soil to water through to target any eggs or larvae in the soil. Sulphur will help eradicate any pest. Hope this helps. On to the next 100k 💚💚

Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers! 🎉 In the US you can buy heat register “deflectors” that are expandable plastic pieces that are curved with magnets on them, you position on vent covers to deflect the air into the room instead of it going straight up. I use them where I have vent covers under tables with plants on them. Work like a charm and they were about 1 USD each! Bargain for such a handy gadget!😊

Yeaaaaahhhh....I have spidermites, mealie bugs and thrips at the moment. Luckily between Cpt Jack's & blue sticky traps they're not out of control. I'll find them once in a while but it's seldom that I'll find a bunch on one plant.

If that raven zz cutting that randomly perished was a leaf prop, check the soil before tossing, it might have made a little potato in there and can still push out new growth. That's what my zz leaf props often do anyway, the leaf wilts at some point and new growth comes in a little later. Congrats on 100k subs! 💚💚

For the Anthurium forgetii, I wouldn’t recommend chopping the stem if you want it to continue growing large leaves, when I propped mine the new leaves were much smaller. Maybe just cut off the ugly leaves?

The stapelia bloom stinks so bad. It lasts for a few days. Mine bloomed this summer and it was beautiful, stinky but beautiful.

Fern!! My Raven ZZ did the same!!! So when i pulled her out of the mix, she had a corm type thing. So I threw it in another pot with a deliciousa lol! Now shes growing back and poking out! Please pot yours together, she may come back ^_^

Definitely inspired to get a dragon of my own. Philodendron golden dragon variegated. It's pricey but I was going to try to buy one after the holidays. Hopefully the sulfur can solve your situation. Had to use apple cider for a situation it definitely smell up the place like dirty socks. For Christmas decoration definitely going to decorate my sago palm.
