Kratos holding back tears as he sees a future where he is loved and praised gets me every time
kratos was despised for a long time during greece being called a monster, but now everyone respects him
I think not only that, but the fact that Faye drew that. She was the one who told him to open up to the world to find a new meaning, she gave him this meaning
Got me too fam. The way I had to pause the game to gather myself.
Genuinely made me sob
i cry every time loki leaves kratos and when kratos sees the future of him having a statue with followers... god. he so deserved that happy ending. he finally is a god that doesn't invoke violence or war, but love and gracefulness. This ending for him is so perfect, god I'm so happy for him. Happy tears
Loki leaves
Atreus remains 😥😢
@@cloudils Yes. He will always be. Just not Athena’s.
The smile on Katros' face at 19:08 to hear his son repeat his own words back to him, cementing that his son HAS listened, and is taking his father's words and his own promise to heart ... it filled me with great joy.
"Father ... she's, she's gone"
This part gets me everytime 😢
This game is ridiculously beautiful. Gives me the chills.
Kratos' whole journey is so wild. From being raised as a Spartan, being no more than a weapon of war, to being a father who failed his wife and daughter due to his ambitions, becoming a slave to Ares and commiting countless atrocities along with ultimately killing his family, being mislead by the Olympians and betrayed by them while becoming the new god of war, losing his brother after just finding and saving him, being betrayed by the Olympians again and killed by his father, continously losing all the things he ever cared about (his followers, his army, his city and finally the last person from his hometown who he once again killed by his own hands) to the Olympians, going down a completely self-destructive path and only caring about revenge, destroying his whole world, and then finally after roaming for most likely centuries before settling down in Midgard, falling in love with Faye, having Atreus and learning both how to be a proper father and a good person and then finally overcoming his own nature as a general and god of war and becoming a god who will rebuild the world after Ragnarok. It's crazy just how much he's gone through and Santa Monica studios did an excellent job at writing his story thus far. Really hyped to see where Kratos goes next as his journey as a rebuilder has only begun.
I lost my father 2 years ago. I was oblivious why this game, and the last of us 2 made me so so sad. In hindsight, duh. They're are two of the best games I've ever played and they both helped me through my grieving process.
I'm sorry for your loss man.
And btw I'd recommend playing the first tlou if you haven't. It's much better than the second game and it has many moments I'm sure will help you with grieving.
Another one is the walking dead from telltale. One of the better soul touching stories you'll ever see
I’m sorry for your loss. But I’m really glad you could find comfort and healing in these games. Videogames can be a powerful thing. Sending love your way
You forgot the funeral of Brok, saddest cutscene ever in my opinion.
YES
That is straight up depressing. Especially when Mimir solves the riddle and it is exactly what is in our heart at that moment. A hole.
Facts… that scene will always be upsetting to me…
A quarter of Fenrir's soul entered Atreus' blade, the other 3 parts ascended to the Lake of Souls
And if I'm not mistaken, it was the mind that stayed in the knife
The scene between angraboda and her grandmother broke my heart.
Totally underrated scene that probably won’t get much attention because it wasn’t the main part of the story.
Obviously the other scenes were sad, but with the other main characters you expect them to be, so they didn’t have the same impact as the grandmother scene did.
Is not as appreciated because angraboda is rushed to be likeable rather than being likeable, you can like her is just that you don't care for her as much as you like the others that were already present
i learned 3 things from god of war: *do not be sorry, be better* / *the culmination of love is grief* / *to grieve deeply.... is to have loved fully*
the last scene was real beautiful, him holding back his tears from the realization of a path he never considered. From a path of carnage to becoming a Chief God of a new pantheon.
This game is one of the greatest examples of true Character development. Writers need to take notice of how amazing it is to see what kratos was ( in everyones eyes in greece a MONSTER ) to now seeing him as a Father figure fighting for "justice"
So this is how it felt, seeing someone that was so brutal, and when he become a father he shows all his weaknesses, sadness, love and grief.. all at once, I was to emotional but I'm happy for kratos, he find his peace🥺
I haven’t played a game in years but when i saw god of war ragnarok i went gost 2 weeks and enjoyed this beautiful game
Kratos character has changed so much from the anger driven man he used to be, now he's a loving father and learning to feel emotions other than hatred and the desire for revenge.
Underrated moment, before starting his story to atreus he checks to see if he has his eyes closed 26:46
This game teaches life lessons fr
That first one with Fenrir hit way too close to home given how recently my dog died of old age.
Same dude, my dog past away a month before I got the game…
Same here but for me it was our cat who we had to get put down because she had cancer and I remember coming home from work one day and she was pretty much dying the same way Fenrir was in the game and we had to take her to end her suffering. A few weeks later this game comes out and this scene caused me to think of her immediately and yeah my eyes turned into waterfalls for a bit.
I had one back in 2020, but I miss her everyday. Fenrir's death hit me hard
I lost 3 dogs in a span of a year and a half and legit the opening scene had me in tears with Fenrir. This game and the 2018 game are masterpieces.
Bro everytime I watch the scene of Loki leaving the music and the voice acting hearing kratos literally struggle but still push himself to say atreus remains as the hug eachother makes me cry all the time
We can all agree about fen’s death just hitting us so damn hard… especially when the wounds of a dog passing in the family are fresh…
God of war and God of War Ragnarok are the only games in my entire life that made me cry this much.
Santa Monica studios did an incredible job with the changes from it's previous games
I'm glad they took this path
11:58 anyone else feel like standing up straight hearing that "BOY!"
Fenrir's death got to me, made me miss my dog. Fly high Bobby❤
Man if I didn’t have a dog I would never understand how that would feel in a way but I do and I was in tears😢 I called her down for some comfort after that scene was done
This game has healed so many father-son wounds.
The story of the old man who called for Death.. when Loki goes, but Atreus stays.. when Kratos gives his speech before Ragnarok. Every dream of Faye.. All of these moments bring tears to my eyes.
Kratos may be the killer of Gods but man the guy just needs a hug fr
you should've included the part where Kratos realised the bear he was fighting was Atreus and was horrified when he thought he accidentally killed his own child, AGAIN.
After being fortunate enough to finally have a canine companion the rest few years the opening of this game killed me
Bro when he dies I started to cry when he just dies in the arms of Atreus
sindri he dies in the arms of sindri
i love it! ❤️ tryning not to tear up kratos been through so much 💯
I did not realize until now that one of Fenrir’s soulmates went into the knife. The amount of detail that was put into this video game is astonishing.
the scene with Fenrir made me cry because the weekend before I lost my dog to cancer he wouldn't eat anything, and I was trying to get him to eat something
Atreus remains.....I see my son growing up to be a man and in my heart the only thing that remains is the memory when he was small, my son is very independent now and almost doesn't need anymore, that Kratos moment of Atreus remains I can really feel it
Another god of war game would ruin the happy conclusion of Kratos he's finally at peace
Brok: What the FUCK???
Loki will go. Atreus remains….
I'm NGL, this game had me so emotionally linked with all of the characters... Fenrir waiting for Kratos and Atreus to return home before dying is one of the most emotional moments in gaming history!
7:25 this feels like foreshadowing to broks death and sindri's reaction half grief and the other half mad at atreus
mimir: something bad did happen! _LOOK AT ME!_ AT FREYA, AT TYR! _ODIN DID THIS TO US!_
that is the most heated mimir has ever sounded
idgaf what anyone says...............GOD OF WAR IS A TRUE MASTERPIECE
Man kratos has to deal with some shit he's older and tired with an insubordinat son most of the time dealing with God's coming after him who he doesn't want to fight in the first place after losing his wife a second time.
1:20 all dog owners gona fell the same pain im fell this is something that at least one time we have to do so then our friend dont suffer any more
When the wolf died I was literally crying 😢 it was o sad
Just the fact they lose brok is so sad no mount of epic moments can fix it
👍👍👍👍 goat video
Gotta be one of the best character developments of all time, up there with zuko if not better
Played god of war for 5 mins and I was crying already with Fenrir's death... Ffs... 😂😂😂
Such an incredible experience to play this game
Why does Freya always look like she got mascara running down her face.
well in 2018 she didn’t but it’s supposed to be from her crying over baldur i think and ig she just never cleaned it
@@lala_1306 . Good reason bro. Thx for the reply. Appreciate it.
you're a good boah
god what's this world is going to..
The death of freyr?
Just keep it mind...this is a videogame.
I am a new dad and that scene at the end between father and son got me good. 🥲
Congrats dude
