It was so sad and touching at the same time. You could see both he and Kratos were still so full of grief.
There's another one when they find a musical instrument from Greece. The convo sorta goes like this: Mimir: "A musical instrument from your homeland. Can you play it?" Kratos: "Yes." Mimir: "Will you?" Kratos: "No." Also you should've included their dialogues on Lunda's orb. But great job regardless!
I still find that last one kind of funny seeing that Kratos had, "pillow talk," with hundreds if not thousands of women back in Greece. He even potentially knocked up Aphrodite so its kind of funny and odd that it was Mimir that gave Atreus advice instead.🤣
Kratos was cruel and dominant with woman save for lysandra and faye , despite taking strides to be better he is still haunted by years of savagery and trauma . He wishes for his son to have loving relationships instead of conquests
For anyone confused about the Laird story, the brother that asked why his brother broke the vow was the one distracted by that woman instead of the Laird.
I truly believe that without Mimir, both Kratos and Atreus would not grow to be who they are now. The relationship between Kratos and Atreus also may be very bad without Mimir during their travel in the previous game.
Being called brother from Kratos is such a huge honor I think it applies to anyone My two friends and I call each other brother and it just seems like a great honor to have those kinda friendships and bonds so to see Kratos and Mimir call each other brother It’s very heartwarming
As good as Ragnarok was there’s a few things that I wished happen. 1) Had the opportunity to explore Asgard a bit more. 2) The opportunity of meeting Hela in Helheim. 3) A look at what Valhalla looks like 4) A redemption ark for Thor before he gets killed
Honestly, between the wholesomeness of Kratos and Mimir since the 2018 to the smaller jokes like "the hell's an 'olive?'", Every single one of these clips has represented why I love it all. They're all too good!!
One thing I love about GOW: Ragnarok is how it not only shows Kratos’ change in character by how he raises Atreus but also by how he acquired and treated his weapons compared to the ones he had in Greece. He’s ripped the heads off of a couple of opponents and treated them as nothing more tools for how he sees fit, whereas Mimir asked Kratos to cut off his head, gives him counsel and the two have built a brotherly relationship. He considers him a brother, not some weapon or tool. A wise older brother he gets to hang on his belt lol. Same with Faye’s Axe, Leviathan. It was given to him in love and it always comes back to him, as opposed to Blades of Chaos… Which were forged out of Hate, Strife and Malice and given to him to be used solely as an instrument of war, to decimate all whom he saw fit, even the innocent. They too are destined to return to him. There’s a scene where he enters his home and throws down the Blades of Chaos, while he gently sets the Axe down next to him. He’s come such a long way but he’s still the same man from the beginning, just wiser… Better. A masterclass in storytelling 🎉
Feels like further foreshadowing that the next pantheon is going to be Celtic with a mix of Arthurian legend. Imagine the God of war version of Camelot
@@exavierreyes9902 honestly looking forward how the devs will handle that pantheon given its not as well recorded compared to the others. Cant wait to see them take triad gods and goddesses though.
Odin's dialogue as Týr really made me appreciate his character. As in, Odin, the character, can really get *into* character. That "He'll only cloud your mind" line has so many layers. On the one hand, he knows it's what he needs to say when they're all bashing Odin's name to make sure he doesn't stand out. But, clouding someone's mind is ambiguous, not really the kind of mental threat Odin really is. It could be Odin slightly bragging. Warning Atreus that Odin will cloud his mind, while he silently clouds everyone's mind around him. Such a good plot twist
That's life. You either die young and reckless, grow into an old fool, or learn and grow. Wisdom is experience and intelligence combined. Part of being intelligent is not only being able to understand and question the world around you, but to understand and question yourself.
I love it. Kratos has 100% thought about frying something to eat on his blades _atleast_ once. I'm imagining him sitting in a cave, over a failed attempt at a campfire, holding some flint in one hand, and one of the blades in the other, just weighing his options.
You know. Their relationship really started to develop towards the end of the previous game. “Head” this and “head” that. But when they’re falling out of the serpent’s mouth, “brother!” “I have you” Kratos cared, even then
From a person who odin prison by having hin stuck in tree for many winters, to be decapitated and brought back to life by Freya, being call "head" to actually being call "Brother" by the God of war himself. Mimir came along way of character development
Also, hearing Kratos chuckle about Mimir's story of the Laird and his brothers. That was epic! In the history of God of War, has anyone ever been able to get that man to chuckle?! HELL NO! You go, Mimir!! You da man! Uh... Da head!!! LOL
@@zj0ker208 True, but as you say. It was a chuckle out of spite. What Mimir got from him, was an actual chuckle of being entertained. More of a 'good' chuckle'. Though....... if one were to really think about it. There was most likely a time when Kratos knew how to smile and laugh. Prior to the deaths of his first wife and daughter.
Its so refreshing to see kratos have empathy and bond with someone who he otherwise would never care for. Mimir is someone kratos needed in his life, he's smart, trustworthy and wise. He looks after both kratos and atreus like family. It feels like for the first time kratos has had someone look out for him genuinely and not selfishly like athena.
You’ve come along way since I first met you brother. I have had good counsel since then brother Brought a fucking tear to my eye, the character development is unreal
They've each been through a lot... Both together and alone. Pretty straight forward they'd eventually become bros. (Truth be told it's better for Kratos than it was with Deimos, Hercules, or any of the rest of Zeus' b@st@rds Kratos was technically related to.)
One of my favorite character developments, Kratos moved up from calling Mimir from “Head,” to “Brother.” What Kratos been through and all he lost, addressing Mimir as his own kin gave me pure joy then turned to concern on what if Mimir is gonna die in this game or Mimir pulls a betrayal to Kratos, recycling Kratos’ trust issues from the previous games…then immediately tossed the idea of betrayal when Mimir became more an uncle for Atreus and having more strong bonding scenes with Kratos.
Kratos truly has come a long way from his time in Greece. I'm really happy how he has finally gotten a form a peace he deserves after all he has done. He finally has a family that truly loves him for who he is. A friend he shares his confidences and relates well. And a home he can truly belong. Kratos is one of the best protagonists to exist in video games.
It’s been an awfully long while until Kratos finally had someone to knock some sense into him again (after what happened before as well as Faye’s death). He’s finally able to discuss adult matters sincerely without sugarcoating it for Loki and dismissing it for everyone else (minus Freya). Mimir’s a good brother. I know he’s just a head always slung behind Kratos, yet my word was he so patient with him. Unsurprisingly for the wisest man, but he really saw potential with Kratos to be better not only for his sake but for Atreus, too. That also makes him an amazing uncle.
13:09 XD "the hells an olive?" I completely forgot for a moment krato's basically destroyed his homeland so none of the plants and animals from their are alive anymore. things like wine, olives and things greek sports like the arena's are just gone.
I hope Mimir is in the next game. He has every right to see the story to completion now. he has a right to be there, he's family just like Pandora was/is. i can't be the only one who feels this way, right?
Wine is still around technically. Like how kratos and artreus found some in the first game. And I imagine there’s other lands with grapes, so it’s only a matter of time before they make wine. There’s also technically a type of wine found in the Nordic countries called mead. Except instead of grapes, they use honey.
"In my youth we learned obedience" "And is that what you want for him?" If i have kids one day im for real gonna need all the lessons from this game its all good stuff.
"I have had good council since then brother" - that was the moment when Kratos really acknowledged him as his brother and my favourite interaction between the two.
i love how kratos dislikes riddles but he try’s to help mimir solve broks cause it’s so important to mimir which obviously means that it’s important to him loool. i love the growth they had together
I do love how Kvasier's poems are just references to other games and media :D. Haven't seen all of them, but I actually recognize the Death Stranding reference at 6:49 with the image of the United States like that! :D.
Its no wonder these two became so close, they got a surprising lot in common. Both excellent at what they do (one a great advisor and mind, the other the fiercest warrior of two pantheons), both served a cruel god who used them as a tool, both lost a great deal as consequence of serving their masters, and both rocking a sick bald head/epic beard combo.

Also you should've included their dialogues on Lunda's orb.
If by pillow talk you mean *Press the circle button*
Kratos was cruel and dominant with woman save for lysandra and faye , despite taking strides to be better he is still haunted by years of savagery and trauma . He wishes for his son to have loving relationships instead of conquests
Most women prefer a more... subtle approach... than the one Kratos used.
@@dkix89what, paying?
@@migitdcruz4895 That's true.
It's only the smartest man alive giving em counsel whenever....
Really helps to have a mediator who can see both sides, smooth over miscommunication and help them understand each other.
Being called brother from Kratos is such a huge honor
I think it applies to anyone
My two friends and I call each other brother and it just seems like a great honor to have those kinda friendships and bonds so to see Kratos and Mimir call each other brother
It’s very heartwarming
As good as Ragnarok was there’s a few things that I wished happen.
1) Had the opportunity to explore Asgard a bit more.
2) The opportunity of meeting Hela in Helheim.
3) A look at what Valhalla looks like
4) A redemption ark for Thor before he gets killed
Ragnarok could've been longer and the fight with odin could've been more epic.
Hela hasnt borned yet
It’s for correction, the name of the character is actually just hel, hela is the marvel version of the name
i desperately wish they'll bring back Thor, he's literally the Norse equivalent of Kratos, and it would be so dope to see him trying to redeem himself
Odin killed Thor to make sure he doesn't turn on him. Considering the kind of paranoid prick Odin was, it made sense that he won't spare him.
Honestly, between the wholesomeness of Kratos and Mimir since the 2018 to the smaller jokes like "the hell's an 'olive?'", Every single one of these clips has represented why I love it all.
They're all too good!!
14:44 made me snort from laughter
Same, although I prefer it when Freya is with them, her laughing is adorable and so funny
5:54
Haven't heard this one before hahah its hilarious
"Boy" "Woman" "Dwarf" "Head"
"Atreus" "Freya" "Brok" "Sindri"
"Brother"
“I’ve had good counsel since I’ve met you brother”
Mimir: Didn't you have an awkward phase in your youth?
Atreus: Hey!
I chuckled hard in my belly.
11:13
Indeed. I have never heard Kratos chuckled like that in my life. In fact, I don't I neither anyone have heard Kratos laugh nor chuckle before.
Kratos did chuckled a little when atreus ask about his name and said that his name couldn't be for a god
Mimir and Kratos are the classic brawn and brain duo done right.
At 13:25 the name Mimir mentions, "Nimue", is another name for THE Lady of The Lake from Arthurian legend.
@@Blufuzzyhat Do you think they'd make The Morrigan and Morgan Le Fey separate characters or combine them together?
Odin's dialogue as Týr really made me appreciate his character. As in, Odin, the character, can really get *into* character.
That "He'll only cloud your mind" line has so many layers. On the one hand, he knows it's what he needs to say when they're all bashing Odin's name to make sure he doesn't stand out. But, clouding someone's mind is ambiguous, not really the kind of mental threat Odin really is. It could be Odin slightly bragging. Warning Atreus that Odin will cloud his mind, while he silently clouds everyone's mind around him.
Such a good plot twist
Mimir is on a role here, he made Kratos liked a riddle, asked him to tell a story, and made a joke that actually tickles the God Of War
"Mm. I like this riddle."
I can't believe Mimir actually got through to him with that one.
as soon as mimir talk he back out and left immediently as fast as lighting, it was hillarious. 11:54
Kratos heard him talk and said “LORE”
the way they made kratos old and wise is just crazy how it works
That's life. You either die young and reckless, grow into an old fool, or learn and grow. Wisdom is experience and intelligence combined. Part of being intelligent is not only being able to understand and question the world around you, but to understand and question yourself.
Real life example is Mike Tyson
@@ninjaqwest2733 that is actually an accurate analogy
kratos doesn’t even call his son “boy” anymore. the one time he did just realize how angry he had to get in order for kratos to call atreus “boy” 😂
But when they’re falling out of the serpent’s mouth, “brother!” “I have you” Kratos cared, even then
Atreus asking 2 bold person about letting hair grow out is just the funnniest thing in the game yet
2:14 I love the way brok comes in with the AYE!!
From a person who odin prison by having hin stuck in tree for many winters, to be decapitated and brought back to life by Freya, being call "head" to actually being call "Brother" by the God of war himself.
Mimir came along way of character development
1:23 my man Kratos, I’m about to shed a tear. The man had come so far from his rage
The writing in these two recent GOW's has been so charming.
Also, hearing Kratos chuckle about Mimir's story of the Laird and his brothers. That was epic! In the history of God of War, has anyone ever been able to get that man to chuckle?! HELL NO! You go, Mimir!! You da man! Uh... Da head!!! LOL
I'm pretty sure the last time Kratos chuckled on screen was when he spitefully chuckled at Athena after stabbing himself with the Blade of Olympus.
I really just love how these two are co-parenting Atreus too, two bros being the lad’s fathers.
“ No it’ll only itch more later “lol
You’ve come along way since I first met you brother.
I have had good counsel since then brother
Brought a fucking tear to my eye, the character development is unreal
13:02
Mimir: Any pre-Fimbulwinter foods you're aching for?
Kratos: Olives.
Mimir: The hell's an "olive"?
Amazing how Kratos the son of Zues is now pretty much the All-Father of the Norse pantheon .
13:09 XD "the hells an olive?"
I completely forgot for a moment krato's basically destroyed his homeland so none of the plants and animals from their are alive anymore.
things like wine, olives and things greek sports like the arena's are just gone.
"In my youth we learned obedience"
"And is that what you want for him?"
If i have kids one day im for real gonna need all the lessons from this game its all good stuff.
From "head" to "brother"
Amazing growth of their relationship.
I love that Atreus and Mimirs arguing implies that they have lots of family fights
“Kratos, throw me at him! Horns first!” 😂😂😂😂😂 best line from mimir
"VERY talented with a sword."
"Mimir.."💀
3:02 This entire sequence is so goddamn good lmao
"I have had good council since then brother" - that was the moment when Kratos really acknowledged him as his brother and my favourite interaction between the two.
"big footprint"
"Smartest...man alive"
😂😂😂
13:54 Atreus asking for suggestion from the 2 bald guys 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, he didn’t really thing that through 😂😂😂
13:35 holy shit that’s referencing the lady in the lake and King Arthur!
Bloody hell, Kratos was alive to hear of the hot gates and was actually at Troy? Crazy
The hells an olive?? The best fucking quote out of all of the games by far.
i love how kratos dislikes riddles but he try’s to help mimir solve broks cause it’s so important to mimir which obviously means that it’s important to him loool. i love the growth they had together
I do love how Kvasier's poems are just references to other games and media :D. Haven't seen all of them, but I actually recognize the Death Stranding reference at 6:49 with the image of the United States like that! :D.
Them calling each other brother is awesome
Its no wonder these two became so close, they got a surprising lot in common. Both excellent at what they do (one a great advisor and mind, the other the fiercest warrior of two pantheons), both served a cruel god who used them as a tool, both lost a great deal as consequence of serving their masters, and both rocking a sick bald head/epic beard combo.
13:13 the squirrel keeps ringing in my head make it stop! Over and over again! Curse you VGS
