    I don’t even own a commander, and I’m glued to this series so far. I’m even looking for one locally for sale! I’m loving my XJ and feel confident in my upgrade projects after watching your videos. Keep up the great content. Love the vids!

    Nice job! I have the RC 2" lift on mine with 255 75s. I need to change out the front end suspension parts (still original on my 2006 w/ 149k miles) and replace the struts like you did in this video. Thanks for posting your play by play... very helpful.
    PS - after watching you replace the bushings on those control arms, I searched for new ones on Amazon. LOL! That did not look fun.
    BTW: The 3 inch looks awesome! Great job!!

      Thanks man!! I actually made a whole separate video on how to replace the control arm bushing but it was such a pain that I integrated the clips into this video and I'm recommending it not be done! My pain for your gain. Lol

      @@ProjectDanH Ha! Thanks for swallowing that pill for the rest of us! Looks like they're 160 for the LCA pair on Amazon. I haven't done any research on lower control arms. Just curious, which brand would you go with? I have a limited hemi with the QDII.

    That is a tough project. I like how you used the forks instead of bigger pucks at the top of your shock tower. I have tires close to yours with spacers & no lift (yet) & am not looking forward to lifting mine. Great vid! Thanks for sharing!

    red bearing grease on your Acme thread on the ball joint press works much better, its messy but keeps the threads from galling. The commander looks great i always wanted to lift mine

    Does anyone know a forum or how to take the headliner out of the commander? Just bought a second commander, first one with the sunroof and it’s leaking pretty bad. I know there is drain tubes I have to check but as far as cleaning the headliner I would love to see a vid on that or if anyone has a forum I would really appreciate it

      It's a little complicated than an XJ but the basics rules apply.. not so difficult

    I lifted my ‘06, didn’t like the ride, lost mileage, removed it. When putting the upper control arm bolts back, reverse them so they can be removed without removing the spring. Mine fit that way. Detroit Auto has great prices on all these parts. I did the lower CAs with full replacements. My clevus nuts came out, luckily. Need steering rack seal, fr diff bushings so may do the whole front, with axles/CVs, ball joints, et al. Doing my fuel tank skid this weekend, am stuck on one bolt above prop shaft.

    Curious to know why you went with pucks and forks instead of springs and shocks? Very educational video. I've watched quite a few of yours. Those Fuel rims look made for the black limited. Same as mine, might have to look into a pair. Haven't seen one until now that I like better than the stock chrome 17's.

    I'll tell ya, the worst part about working with rust, is when a bolt swells up with rust inside a bushing sleeve rendering it almost impossible to remove depending on accessibility

    Hey bud.. fab vid... I did the same lift... but the drive shaft angle... meant lots of pop and clunking... I fitted new cv axles... but still no good... so had to take the front lift out... or it's not driveable... could it be alignment? I fear not....

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  3 місяці тому +1

      Did you get it aligned after the lift? Also did you do A arms , bushings, ball joints and torque everything down?

  • @abitemoxtle
    @abitemoxtle 4 місяці тому +1

    Are the axles still straight or are they sitting at an angle after lift? Considering doing the same lift to my commander but dont want to deal with problems with the axles afterwards.
