Nice video. Great to see this run being showcasted again! Just a slight correction, its not clear 0 star shindou is possible. There is a speed cap of 400 speed you can build while doing wallkicks, and the way 30 star room is designed makes it hard to keep that speed through DDD with good positioning. In fact, there isnt a known method yet of how to do it (if theres any)
I bet there is a way somehow. If you have >400 spd, you MUST hit the wall with only your last quarter step, or else you will lose all your speed. (Or you need to hit the wall at a slanted angle, that's fine too.) Basically, if you hit a wall with an earlier quarter step, your next quarter step moves forward 400/4=100 units, which is bigger than wall hitboxes, putting mario Out of Bounds. Mario's movement is cancelled, and he proceeds to lose all his speed. (And if you hit a wall at an angle, then mario's next quarter step would go a bit sideways instead of forwards, so that could be good, too. You don't have much control over your angle though, so idk man.) Also, you need restrictively good spacing to pass through the 30 star door, how do you follow that up with ensuring good spacing for the DDD "painting" too? So to guarantee you'll never hit out of bounds after you achieve 400 speed...? Err, it's a hard math problem where you need to be aware of every single wall surface triangle in that area of the basement. Mario's air movement physics is actually really simple so I'm not worried about that, tbh. MK, do we need just 400 speed, or was the DDD "warp painting's" floor triangle slightly bigger than that? I thought it wasn't exactly 100 units width, but correct me if I'm wrong. im too lazy to check for it myself. (and i guess i can ignore floor unit truncation cuz both edges truncate the same direction)
Actually, the BLJ wasn’t patched by capping negative speed (for some reason), which can be shown by doing other negative hyperspeed glitches like Shell Hyperspeed, Hyperspeed Walking, Hyperspeed Water Sliding, etc. It was actually instead patched by causing Mario’s speed to be reset to 0 the frame he lands from a long jump (clearly specifically targeting the backwards long jump)
THANK YOU! I knew Mario's long jump looked odd when I tried it. I'm surprised no one noticed this as Mario completely stops in place when you do a blj in the Shindou version.

I mean, theoretically, it's human doable, people have done a ton of frame perfect inputs one after another before. The problem is that the rhythm of them changes and speeds up, so it quickly becomes WAY harder than a consistent rhythm. Technically, a person would do it, but they'd have to spend literally hundreds of hours JUST doing this.
@@kabobawsome some movement here I think is humanly impossible. Just to do the first skip you have to do 4 frame perfect things, one of them including moving the joystick down neutral and up in the spawn of 3 frames. So just an interesting tid bit for people to learn. At 3:40 a specific slope is mentioned, a type 0x13 slipper slope. you might wonder what 0x13 means. In programming 0x denotes a number is in hexadecimal this means the highest number each digit can count to is 16 rather than the normal decimal system which counts to 10. So if we convert the hex 0x13 to decimal it's actually 19 So the correct way to read the slope name would be a type 19 slippery slope!
Tip: in the endless stairs if you angle your camera just right, you can long jump and do the firstie and when you have enough speed you will wall jump on top of the 70 star door, and you will jump once on top of the endless stairs and it will make you double jump hold backwards on the joystick and you are home free.
