They should allow a percentage of the vast amount of over heals to be retained in an ability. Once you hit a certain amount of over heals you can do a big instant cast ability. I want to play disc but I hate having to do damage to heal.
I guess oracle is supposed to be inspired by prophet Velen, which is kinda cool. But man, there's gotta be a better thematic for the only double healer hero talent.
They could have go into whole 'prevent' or 'revert' damage aspect of Propheting. Like some of your healing spells put buff on teammates that anticipate the damage and reduce/put a shield/revert it or something. I just cant feel Oracle power at all. Its not 'hell yeah' visually nor 'now i pump up like crazy' numerically. Its just lame.
To beef up archon holy/shadow priest on the fantasy side, maybe they could draw on some of the "twilight" light/shadow animations they made for the Anduin fight in the last raid of Shadowlands rather than just repeating the current halo animation again and again. They could have both halo and divine star cause twilight damage, and perhaps have a naaru-like NPC show up to "empower" them. Sunfury Mage draws on a partiuclar moment in lore (Tempest Keep, Kaelthas, the phoenix Alar) and since Anduin's inner struggle with the light and shadow is a focus of the war within, that could be a cool fit.
I've already suggested this but just theme it around Naaru. becoming an Archon of the Naaru. Holy has Naaru already, shadow has fiend that could become a naaru instead. Both have temp transforms to become ultra holy/shadowy with apotheosis and void form, etc.
Oracle could have a fairly simple solution. Vision of Hope/Vision of Doom/Vision of Prophecy: (Cycles): Your overhealing is stored up to a value of X. Vision of Hope is large raid/party heal for X divided among all targets, Vision of Doom is a massive sibgle target nuke for X, Vision of Prophecy is a single target shield for X.
Great Video Jak! Really looking forward to playing around with Conduit of the Celestials next expansion. You did a good job simplifying what the tooltips are saying for each hero talent tree, looking forward to more 😊
The interesting thing about Archon is that the description of the tree fits way better with Voidform and Apotheosis, forms that empower you with either void or light. I imagine that the initial plan was to lean more on that theme and then they went with Halo instead because the two forms are so different from each other and because they're both technically optional talents (VF competes with Dark Ascension and Apo with Holy Word: Salvation). There's still a bit of support for those forms in the Archon tree, like the talents that increase their duration, but I would like to see Archon lean more into those.
So is Farseer. The theme on that spec is just immaculate & passive healing only helps shammy to be even more new healer friendly which is already its reputation.
@@dr.zoidberg8666 idk what u mean by "shaman is new healer friendly" personally, i find disc easier then that, but that's due to it's overhall in DF and it used to be way harder. You got so many buttons it's crazy, not even paladin can compare lmao
@@ZeroiusProduction Yeah, but you don't ever need to press hardly any of 'em until you're pushing really competitive content. Throw down a healing rain, then hit your group with riptide, healing surge, or chain heal as you see fit. If you fuck that up a cloudburst totem will save the whole group. & if you stand in the fire yourself, you have a self-rez. Resto shammy is a very forgiving spec & it has no complicated mechanics or interactions.
Did recent alpha dungeons as Farseer. It was pretty relaxing until a few big mechanics and then I was trying to figure out optimal throughout. Got a little scary but no one died. Healing totems, spirit link, nature swift, etc. shaman has a ton of buttons lol. First time playing Resto Shaman. It was fun though. Was doing decent damage too
@dr.zoidberg8666 any legitimate key pushing or raiding past LFR shaman is chaotic. Easily 20+ spells and ability's need to be keybound. The utility between totems, dispels and using ghost wolf to do mechanics is and will always be over whelming. Once mastered it's a hell of a class and fun.
Honestly I like the sound of Archon. It sounds quite hands off and passive, while looking cool. Its not as build around as the Shadow version, you just need Halo which has always been a filler talent before.
Super accurate. I've been maining resto druid since Legion and after seeing both Hero trees, I decided I'm going back to warlock which is the only dps I have any experience with. It's fine that they want to make passive trees, but the passives have to feel like you are leaning into a certain playstyle. Season 3 and 4 tier sets are more spec defining than the keeper of the grove hero tree and that's pathetic.
Good news is we still have the largest beta test in Warcraft history incoming in a few weeks, we will hopefully get lots of feedback and subsequently lots of alterations. Great video Jak
Also a thought about helping oracle is to have it so you will activate it from what your last move was. An aoe move like radiance or Holy Word: Santify could trigger Premonition of piety, a dps move could cause insight and a single target heal (take your pick) could cause solace. Still won't be good as voidweaver but it would be better.
The data mine for totemic shaman looks like it is going to be a lot of fun and from what I’ve seen that may be what I am going to go. Been playing resto shaman since bc
My gripe with farseer is that it’s more about lavaburst/riptide pushing than any kind of fantasy. There are only 5 nodes that mention the ancestors and there are 0 interactions with anything else in the kits. There’s even a talent on resto that “summons ancestors” when you crit, and that doesn’t interact.
I think I would bump Farseer up just because of Resto Shammy's position as arguably the best starter healer spec. More passive healing only increases that status & the theme is so incredibly on point. For me, Farseer theme is up there with Voidweaver theme.
I am shocked that the Shaman 2nd talent tree comes last. SHOCKED I say......and people wonder why we shaman feel under managed. In DF we had 1 minor revamp of talents, awful tier structure, and now our hero talents are brought online last. As usual.

idk I personally love farseer, especially the bubble. I like that its passive and the visuals are amazing too. There are people who do like such stuff, maybe not as many, but the question is if there has to be a roughly equal amount of people loving each of the hero talents, or if something more "niche" int terms of flavor is ok. I personally think the latter is the right answer. Only because fewer people like it doesnt mean its worse, its just that this particular taste is not as common as the other. If you find voidweaver so much better, maybe your taste changed and just want to be a priest instead of a shaman? Voidweaver doesnt hype me. Bottom line, it's up for taste and like Jak said, make sure to tell them WHY you dont like it. The extremes are where the alarmbells should ring. I had such high hopes for oracle, and now its really hard to find anything remotely positive or exciting about it.
Archon being focused around Halo really sucks in my opinion. The fact that they talk about a transformation makes me feel like it needs to be a brand new one that replaces Salvation/Apotheosis with a new visual. Wings of Naaru crystals would've been perfect to replace our ugly see-through yellow-jello one, because ours is the only Hero Tree with zero new visuals whatsoever. Even ORACLE gets new visuals and "spells". I'm also super annoyed they didn't bring Cascade back. They said in the beta of Dragonflight that they wanted to and it's still nowhere to be found. I would've taken that with a visual update as our core ability for Archon, even. Overall, when you compare Archon to Voidweaver, that received new amazing visuals and really tweaks your gameplay, Archon literally just feels like "You Halo bounces back, doesn't receive a new visual, and visually doesn't even bounce properly, take it or leave it.". Wow, such a gameplay improvement. I'm sure a dev worked overtime for that idea.
What if premonition replaces PI w/ an aoe buff for like 8 seconds tracks overhealing. After the 8 seconds it will consume overhealing on the targets as they take damage till the amount runs out and provides a minor haste buff based on the overhealing done for as long as that persists?
If we get new buttons to press with the hero talents, can we remove the earth shield stacks please? It's kind of annoying to press every 20 sec anyway.
Saying Cloudburst totem is active, while Treants are passive healing is wild to me... because they are both just totems. In fact, Treants literally do the same thing as Healing Stream totems. Cool video overall.
