I just stumbled upon your channel today and love it! Proud owner of a 1978 F250 4x4 myself that went through an entire restoration. My only advice to you is to ditch the old C6 completely in favor of a built E4OD. Having lockup and overdrive in that old truck is just a world of a difference better. I made the mistake of using my C6 (after my 10 year restoration) and as soon as I got it out on the road I was disappointed and was already contemplating an E4OD swap. 18 months later, took it down and did the swap. Even got to keep the married NP205. Now people look at me funny when I am on the highway keeping up with them with the windows rolled up and AC on!
Most def keep on with your new style, a little dialogue goes a long way. And thanks for keeping the music low, some you tubers have it cranked up and you can’t hear shit. Keep on keepin on, brother.
Man I love your videos. The way you explain things even showing mistakes is perfect and I like the voice over the time warp . And the music vs the narration is perfect
Seriously, such an underrated channel!!!!! Keep up the phenomenal work. Voice over, time lapse, and attention to detail are all absolute top shelf. Thanks for sharing your journeys!!!!
Hi Austin, great project. I really like your videos. Extended time lapse is ok for me, I appreciate all of information you give us. I find the music on most time lapses some annoying, but with the volume a little bit low will be ok. Thanks for sharing and keep the good work. Take care!
I had a buddy in CT who had an 06 Chevy truck as well that rusted through 3 brake lines before 100k. I've never had one rust through on any vehicle. It's so crazy how differently vehicles are effected by just where they live
I have a few bumpsides and now Im gonna be glued to this series build on this dentside . I like the latest editing style and your voice over of the long drawn out process stuff. Its a much better pace watching those not so exciting parts sped up with descriptive voice over. FITech EFI is what I chose at first. It didnt stay long and I now am running Holley Sniper EFI simply because it actually works . FITech was unbelievably problematic and constantly giving me problems. Hopefully your experience with it will be better
After watching your trophy truck series I have thought you were going to crown Vic swap it. LOL. Love on your commentary and content; I have to admit I binged watched the crown & trophy series. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to your upcoming projects. 🤘🏼
Looks like it will be a fun project. The body work plans intrigue me the most. (building/working with tools in limited access areas) I like the extended time-lapse with voice over giving more info. If there is no info to explain, start and end is all I need. I could go either way regarding music during time-lapse. Some tubers play bits of normal time sound, during time-lapse. I think I have seen you do that too. I like that. Definitely want to see a "tools I use" video, with links. Thanks for your videos.
I don't know if you keep up with comments on these older shows, but I thought I would mention that I am mezmorized by these videos.... I absolutely love them. There is a channel, FixItNick, I believe who uses a cheap adjusting office chair to remove doors and bumpers and stuff. It might make it easier for you.
I try to keep up with the comments because every once in a while I get some great wisdom like this! I will be on the lookout at goodwill for one of those chairs, Thanks!
Just watched the trophy truck series over the last 2 days. Your channel is pretty awesome. I fancy myself a capable fabricator, but it makes me wonder what I could accomplish if I had that kind of space and equipment. Maybe I should work at a hot rod shop so I can play with the toys without having to buy them.
Honestly, that's not a bad idea. I have a good relationship with a few local shops that I used to do free or cheap work at when they would get a really unusual project just to get some knowledge.
I really enjoyed your trophy truck build I'm a big fan of the Crown Victoria so it was a lot of useful information for me I would really like to see you build a Rock Bouncer I think that should be your next project...
I thought about that, but a dedicated rock crawler is a little outside my wheel-house. I am leaning towards a general 4x4 that capable enough to safely go out without another vehicle needed, but comfortable enough to cruise around town when the weather is nice with the family
Hey Austin, I subbed because This truck is from my time and you can sure polish the hell out of it. If you like bringing these back from the Arizona heat, keep an eye out for another and I will leave it at your shop for you to work your magic on. It polished Real Well. New Sub, Thanks, Gerry
time lapse, low volume audio, the audio mix, and all that is great. If I want it faster, I'd speed it up, and if I wanted to skip stuff, I'd skip it. Really cool work on the hood scratch.
Thank you for doing this series on the 79! You sir are insanely talented and def know your craft well. So happy I found your channel! Please stick with Ford rebuilds. (Ford Biased) in the beginning stages of a 79 super cab rebuild myself. Albeit my project has about 10 times the body issues. Lol I’ll stay tuned in 👍
Austin, I want to Thank you. Thank you for reading All of my comments in all of your vids. Thank you for answering them! You are in a very small group of tubers that actually do that. Everyones says " Like, Subscribe, Comment" etc but hardly Anyone actually replies to comments. Thank you for being so Nice while replying to my comments. Thank you for putting out so many Great videos. Thank you for doing so many Great Projects. I truly enjoy watching your videos. It is soooo nice to have good content to watch while being Quarantined. Thank you for being there for us :-)
Dan, I predict that very soon (12 months) he just won't have the time to answer everyone's comment. Right around 30K subscribers UA-camrs run out of time to answer comments, they WANT to, but content and editing and that habit of putting food on the table for the family, gets in the way. Another indicator is percentage of likes to views. Austin is under 10 percent, when he hits about 15 % (hardly anybody goes over that) he'll be swamped.
Dang, you know your numbers. The best part of having a small niche channel is being able to interact with the viewers, and as exciting as it is to watch the channel grow, it's equally sad that I can't reply to every comment I want to.
When I started this build I had like 29 subscribers and it took me 6 months to get those. People's time is valuable and I am honored people are using it to watch my videos and thrilled that people are finding motivation in these builds.
My 2nd truck was a 78 F150 super cab long bed. Got about 8 mph and could move just bout anything. Love that tuck. This one looks an awful lot like it. Mine was orange though.
Keep doing what your doing bro! Be you. It's what makes your channel unique. Your content is too good not to hit it big eventually. Don't worry about the haters, as long as your smiling it's all background noise. Just keep managing family time and don't lose yourself in the work. You don't get those years back. Cheers! PS, I agree with your wife, the trophy truck is perfect the way you built it
Dude I'm absolutely loving your channel. The amazing papa show is one of my favorites right now. Found you through the trophy truck build and looking forward to seeing what becomes of the great looking truck. Thanks for all of the work you out in to making these vids 👍
Don't worry about making yourself like other UA-camrs. Keep your style. That's also why I subscribed, besides using a freakin' Crown Vic as the basis for an offroader, I mean, come on...
Cool truck! I had a 78. Same truck except round headlights. 400M shares a ton of parts with the 351 Cleveland. (Heads, cam, timing chain and oil pump) or do what I did and get a 429/460.
1st time seeing your channel. Definitely like seeing the whole process. A lot of shows put up a lot of video that ends up not really teaching anything. Also, the flavor of the build looks really practical and not just a bolt on extravaganza. Subscribed and can't wait to see more.
I like the timelapse and voiceover approach, with the music. I've edited a bunch of youtube videos myself, and struggled to find a good balance between the three, but I think you've nailed it! :)
Love the videos you got me interested on the crown vic to trophy truck then seen 1979 build you have me hocked I have 4 1979"s so can not wait to see what you do.
Stumbled across your channel it was super cool when I realized you where a local Arizona boy too i subscribed instantly will be watching all the new videos and just watch TT series look like fun
Big fan of the dent side Fords. Your video skills are very good, I like the longer work sessions with voiceover, and the music is fine, but I would cut the music volume by 5% or so to make it more of an accent to the vids and a bit less prominent.
Polisher (I highly recommend): amzn.to/3sdLyWD Polishing pads (these aren't the exact ones I use, but they are close. I use 3m pads I get from a local shop I can't find them on amazon): amzn.to/3k8RzRw High end polish (I use this on vehicles over 60k value): amzn.to/3buAZaO Really good lower cost rubbing compound: amzn.to/3dCuju3 Really good lower cost finishing polish: amzn.to/2ZEEFBi
Cool project, I’m happy the owner chose to keep the original paint to, a bit of roughness suits a truck like this. Your editing is great, no need to change anything imo. 👍🏻
Just finished the entire, awesome trophy truck series, all watched back to back over the last two days. Looking forward to this build as well. You are a true renaissance man. Skills and experience in everything, with such refreshing positive attitude. Thanks for sharing your day. Joel.....
I have thought about it and I am a HUGE fan of I-beams. I thought about going that route first, but then i'd change the whole steering, and eventually end up with nothing CV. This build was more just a goof to see what the off road limits of CV parts are rather than trying to make the best off-road rig I could. I'm already thinking about the next project and i'm leaning towards a build from scratch with a tight budget so I am not limited by the guts of an old beat up car.
I like the music/ voice over combo and for me the music is not loud. Great job. Is the owner going to be keeping the dual fuel tanks? If not will he be going for one big size or just the simple one tank.
Depends on the condition of the tanks, the sending units, and the valve, but we are trying to keep them both and it looks like we will be able to. The EFI will use a frame mounted pump that will be able to be mounted lower than both tanks and the valve.
cool old F350 & awesome project- I am sure the owner will be stoked with the end results! is that model F350 4x4 considered a "highboy" or "camper special" ? - any plans to upgrade the seats with newer models from an ext-cab ford truck? also, it would be tons of work but very cool to add hinged rear ext-cab doors like on the newer mode F150/250 ext cabs. looking forward to your progress in this!
I am unsure if this is technically a Hi-boy or Camper special. Off the top of my head I thought that was the term for the previous generation. The Jump seats will be reupholstered because the Owner wants the inside to look close to original. Same goes for the rear doors, that would be interesting to do, but would cost too much and would have to repaint afterwards
No it is a Ranger. You would know at a glance if it were a highboy (would look like it was lifted), and it would have camper special badging and tie downs if it were that flavor.
We absolutely considered it, but because it is numbers matching original, we decided to stick with what she's had for 41 years and see what an intake and EFI will do. I think if the motor or trans were junk we would do a coyote and the 6,8 or 10 speed f150 trans. You gotta start filming and posting your builds!
I watched all the Trophy Truck vids. Nice Job. In one video you had a "Sucker" count. You Need to put a "But" count in your videos. The number would be staggering. You say But every couple of minutes...
@@AustinCoulson yes, i like them just fine, f-350 is bone stock 400 low maintenance very reliable and i have started it in very low temperatures -20f with no problems, bronco 400 has eldabrock setup, carb, manifold, cam, and headman ceramic long tubes and its pretty fast.
Awesome content man thank you. If you're going to do a voice over I'd recommend leaving the music out it gets kinda busy sounding. Would love to see the truck painted, fresh paint is the bee's knees
I like how this video is with the music, voice over etc. voice over helps explain everything!
I like the narration. I'd turn the music and tool sounds down to 15-20%. Just a tad loud in my cans. Great videos.

Longer format with voice over, works well. The original paint came out well. It still needs the patina. Great job
excellent format dont change a thing... best ive seen so far and I watch alot of YT auto builds, youve got a cute kid
man i am so stoked on your Chanel real work with real world budgets!
I liked the video style while you polished the hood. And the rest of the video.
Man I love your videos. The way you explain things even showing mistakes is perfect and I like the voice over the time warp . And the music vs the narration is perfect
I don't understand why this channel hasn't blown up, this is some of the best content I've seen
Thanks, I really appreciate comments like this
Count me in Mr Austin. I don't miss any episodes of tha amazing papa show. Cheers from Seattle. We are suffering here with a horrendous 83F, ouch!

These old vehicles from dry parts of the country amaze me. My 2006 Chevy truck was ready for the crusher in 2016 with 135k on the clock.
I had a buddy in CT who had an 06 Chevy truck as well that rusted through 3 brake lines before 100k. I've never had one rust through on any vehicle. It's so crazy how differently vehicles are effected by just where they live
Great video, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no good with body work and was impressed how you brought the paint back to that finish 👍
These old vehicles from dry parts of the country amaze me. My 2006 Chevy truck was ready for the crusher in 2016 @ 135k miles.
This is awesome. Love the old Ford and the direction the owner wants to go in. 102 degrees ouch. Its windy and in the 40's here right now.
It's already hit 108. It's funny we have the same insulation, but for different temperature extremes

Just watched all the trophy truck episodes in 3 days. My first vehicle I drove was a 79' F150 4x4 so needles to say I'll be watching this series too.
I had a 79 F100 Ranger 2wd with a 351C, Reg Cab, Long bed. Loved that truck
I dont understand cars but i love the work

After watching your trophy truck series I have thought you were going to crown Vic swap it. LOL. Love on your commentary and content; I have to admit I binged watched the crown & trophy series. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to your upcoming projects. 🤘🏼
I can't CV swap everything I work on. Although that would make fixing them easier

I'm surprised you didn't buy a bronco. I'd love a bronco project series!
Me too, 100%. I've owned 4 Broncos and loved every one. Well, except the fuel mileage.
Hell yeah. Best body style ever made
I love you channel don't care for the music tho

Sign us up for all the episodes! This will be good watching
Dude I'm absolutely loving your channel. The amazing papa show is one of my favorites right now. Found you through the trophy truck build and looking forward to seeing what becomes of the great looking truck. Thanks for all of the work you out in to making these vids 👍
I absolutely love this channel its a huge inspiration for me! Keep up the great work.
Nice format. I like it enough to try and do the same.
So many things to do, you are very busy,
Wish you all the best.
I like the time lapses! You do great . love the videos I have seen.
Glad I found your channel looking forward to see it grow an this and future builds

Welcome to the channel and thanks for the comment. I tend to pass on jobs that are just bolt-ons, as there is little excitement in those.
I love the O.G. license plate.
Sweet truck..... when I build one, that is it
Can’t wait to see what you do with this beautiful truck.
Now that I see you are focusing on producing more great content like your trophy truck series.....Subed! Cheers!
I like the timelapse and voiceover approach, with the music. I've edited a bunch of youtube videos myself, and struggled to find a good balance between the three, but I think you've nailed it! :)
Very Cool project ..I own a '77 F-250
I like the extended slo-mo with voice over and music.
Awesome videos. My dad had a 78 F150 Custom with the 300 straight 6. Been trying to find it
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 300 I6
Love the videos you got me interested on the crown vic to trophy truck then seen 1979 build you have me hocked I have 4 1979"s so can not wait to see what you do.
Finally someone with a 351m/400

Keep up the good work I enjoy your videos 👍
Very excited about this project. It's a beautiful truck. Also, your editing and time lapse format are spot on. Thanks again for all you do.
That looks like a NP205. I just picked one up for my 86 F250.
I like the voiceover on the longer timelapse, I would like links to the polisher, pads and compounds.

Supercool your a great builder. I'm looking forward to a resto mod style build as that's is what I like to do. Great job
Fat fender garage makes some pretty cool a/c stuff for the dent sides.
When I first bought my house my neighbor told me if I need help with anything to ask his son. He said "he aint too smart but he can lift stuff". lol
I'm so excited for this build can't wait!!!! Watched all of the trophy truck builds oh yeah NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE!!!!
Rad!! Looking forward to more
cwd 123 sasss'.
Weeeeeeasel it!
Love your turns of phrase.
I'm ready to see this come along. Its going to be sweet
Cool project, I’m happy the owner chose to keep the original paint to, a bit of roughness suits a truck like this.
Your editing is great, no need to change anything imo. 👍🏻
Man-O-Manischewitz, what a sweet truck. Have Cab lights been considered?
Just finished the entire, awesome trophy truck series, all watched back to back over the last two days. Looking forward to this build as well. You are a true renaissance man. Skills and experience in everything, with such refreshing positive attitude. Thanks for sharing your day. Joel.....
Np 203 is a full time transfer case and has a differential in the transfer case, np205 is what you have
correct. I get confused pre-np208
Austin, you cant tell me you wouldn't like another 12'' of travel out the trophy build. how about making some A-arms from scratch??? I-beam maybe!!!!
@@AustinCoulson That's awesome to hear, I'm excited to see that. I'm a fan of the dual tanks, it has a nostalgia feel to it.
cool old F350 & awesome project- I am sure the owner will be stoked with the end results!
is that model F350 4x4 considered a "highboy" or "camper special" ?
I believe 1977 was the last year of the high-boy.
Keep it up on the time lapse voice over! 👍 I usually try to keep mine shorter but complete and faster, but I also usually don’t do voice overs
I hope you redid the drive shaft weld on the crown vic trophy build . The ends should be (one vertical and the other horizontal).
Heck yea! Doing a '76 myself. Excited to watch this series.
OH... I'M IN!!!... sign me up for uploads
Did you consider a coyote swap? They fit right in that big engine bay! Going to be doing one on a 77 250. Truck is awesome!
I’ve been thinking about it!😀
Keep up the great work!
I watched all the Trophy Truck vids. Nice Job. In one video you had a "Sucker" count. You Need to put a "But" count in your videos. The number would be staggering. You say But every couple of minutes...
You have no idea how many "so" and "but" i leave on the editing floor. It's so annoying but I just can't shake it.
That rust under the drip rail will come straight back through.
I own a 79 f-350,f36,4x4 std cab long and 79 xlt bronco, both 400 autos. Both trailer specials out of Wyoming, am i lucky or what?
Do you like the 400 in them?
@@AustinCoulson yes, i like them just fine, f-350 is bone stock 400 low maintenance very reliable and i have started it in very low temperatures -20f with no problems, bronco 400 has eldabrock setup, carb, manifold, cam, and headman ceramic long tubes and its pretty fast.
Awesome content man thank you. If you're going to do a voice over I'd recommend leaving the music out it gets kinda busy sounding.
Would love to see the truck painted, fresh paint is the bee's knees
You could replace the valve seals without removing the heads for very cheap. Mainly your labor.
I will probably end up doing that
