- These nutty cookies have a satisfying crunch and a great honey taste.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups walnut pieces
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter, small pieces
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup honey
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
Icing sugar
DIRECTIONS
1. In a food processor, process the walnuts and sugar until the walnuts are the size of coarse sand.
2. Add the butter and salt. Process until butter becomes creamy.
3. Add the honey and process to mix in.
4. Remove the walnut-honey mix to a large bowl.
5. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
6. With a cutting motion, work the flour into the walnut-honey mixture.
7. Roll the resulting cookie dough into 1” (25mm) cylinders and wrap in plastic wrap.
8. Chill dough for 1/2 hour.
9. Cut the dough cylinders into 1/2” (12mm) thick rounds and place on a papered baking sheet, with a space of about 1” (25mm) between each cookie.
10. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-16 minutes, until cookies are starting to brown at edges and small holes appear in the top.
11. Let cool on sheet or counter for 5 minutes.
12. Dust cookies with icing sugar and move to cooling racks.

@@KumasKitchen i like it with goatcheese and honey on a cripsy
Bun
I have never quite been into baking, but i need to give this recipe a try!
Bündner Nusstorte, it's been a couple years since i had this treat!
Quite hard to get to, even in austria, most of the time i have relied on friends and relatives visiting, to bring one or two with them ^^
By any means, it cant be compared in any way but you should try a "Mohnzelten" sometimes, classical austrian pastry, potato dough with sweet poppy seed filling.
But I'll imagine its a bit hard to get in japan ^^
Best regards from Austria!
It's been a couple years for me too. I need to make one.
@@KumasKitchendon't forget to make a video :D
Those cookies deserve a good cup of tea! I know that green tea is popular there, but are black teas like English Breakfast or Earl Gray popular - or are Chinese teas like Oolong and Lapsang souchong more popular?
An English Breakfast go best with these. Can get here, no problem.
Thank god, no cheese. I like the walnut story.
You'll be happy to hear - no cheese next week, either.
When I see your cookie recipes I really want to try them, but a nut allergy is stopping me. 😩
Aww. Next cookie recipe, I'll try to avoid nuts.
