I have the 2001 dodge ram 2500 with 5.9. At 50,000 mi i lost the lift pump which took out the injector pump. I put the latest air dog lift pump and filter on it with the new bosch 44np injector pump and new injectors. This whole set up was a packaged deal from Thoroughbred Diesel. Worked like a charm and have not had a single glitch. The truck now has 120,000mi on it. It has a 6 speed manuel transmission and 4 wheel drive. It is a powerful work horse! Great job of getting the job done.
Guys in the shop. Always a great video. Does prove that 3 heads are better than one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 God bless you all through the winter on the farm. Love those jeans Sanders.
Every single farm out there has to have a farm truck. My uncles and my grandfather on their farm had a 1972 or 1973 Ford F-250 and used it for years. Back when trucks were built to last.
great to see the guys working together. That Dodge Ram did not stand a chance. Looking forward to the winter wonderland projects. Never a boring moment in that shop. God bless and thank you.
Yaaaaaaaay!!! It's alive!!! Hope it keeps running, and no more hiccups. It can be frustrating at times, trying to troubleshoot a problem, especially as equipment evolves and gets more computerized. Rodent problems like mice and rats chewing on the wires somewhere, is hard to locate when it is in a tight out of the way place.
It is good that everyone pitched in to get the Cummins running again. It actually sounds pretty good. . . . As they say, there is always something to do on the farm. Thank you for showing part of your day.
After 40 years of most of the time farming and part of the time driving either trucks or school busses, I have found it I get my greatest joy out of farming mostly because just what Kevin said and that is that you get something different to do everyday. Sometimes even several times a day!!
I’d say Sydney is every bit of a professional as anybody working in any shop anywhere. Each and everyone of you could make it anywhere doing anything from what I’ve seen! I enjoy your videos very very much Ronda, thank you.
Congrats Sydney on getting the lift pump and injector pump replaced. Bleeding the injectors is usually how we clear the air in the lines on the tractors. My son's Massey had to have a rebuild on his injector a few years ago and recently the lift pump replaced, had to do the same type of work, just a little different, due to engine type! Hope it all goes well with the truck in the future and with the trailer rebuild! I hope you all have a good week!
Ronda, I gotta say, by the end I had a vested interest in that truck starting lmao. Good to see the gang get together, and the way you film it, makes us feel as if we are right there troubleshooting with them. Good stuff.
Sydney's description of the problems sounded like Greek to me. I grew up on carbureted 6 cylinders with no computers or emission systems. Nice to see all the guys out in the shop at once, and the winter project already underway. Have Seth and Mackenzie chosen any music for the wedding? God's blessings for all the family.
That was a great job, everyone working together to get the Dodge started. I have one and had to put a new fuel pump in the tank. I so glad to see everyone working together.
i hope you got good parts. several shops have received bad parts supposed to be new or remanufactured. not a good thing to waste your time getting the parts and installing them, testing and have to do it again. time is money. i never had the skills your sons have and now i don't have the patience to figure it out either. blessings to youall.
As a former Dodge tech the lift pump failure will definitely take out the main pump. They said to take the pump off the block and put it in the tank as a fix Good job.
Hi Ronda, IMO: All modernized equipment limits flexibility. That's why I don't purchase ANYTHING w/ a microprocessor in it. e.g. That fancy battery charger won't serve as a booster unless the battery needing the boost is charged up enough to satisfy it. Even if it's up enough at first, as soon as you crank the engine, the charge level falls below the microprocessor programming threshold, and the "modern" charger stops helping. Same thing with the truck, it has circuitry that limits it's flexibility when diagnosing and repairing it. Maybe someday companies will overcome their thinking causing those issues I don't know, but I got tired of it. I only buy bare bones, manual control anymore, and if that means old, even antique, sobeit. I'd have me another wheel on that old battery charger befor it got dark today if'n it twas mine. Don't ask me what year car I drive, nothing original on it is electronic except the radio. And guess what? The radio doesn't work. But the car drives just fine w/ out radio. ben/ michigan
They call fedex fix don’t hurt to put another lift pump out of tank an pressure gauge with the price of injection pumps love videos don’t miss any great family happy holidays 🎉
Another great video Ronda, really nice to see Kevin and the boys all using their combined knowledge to locate the problem, and was happy when it finally got started Hopefully the problem is finally fixed Kevin and the boys got their work cut out for them with the Horse Trailer but i am very sure it will come out looking like a new trailer, instead of steel flooring, wouldn’t it be better with a heavy Oak Flooring? But whatever they choose i know it will be fine 😊
It's always good to be a jack of all trades cause then you know how to do everything I don't have to pay for it especially if you're very good at it but in a jack of all trades all my life and I like it and I don't pay for other people to fix stuff
Helped start a cantankerous locomotive in Atlanta one fine evening...it had come from LA to New Orleans and was enroute to DC...but was about like the Ram...just needed a few "snorts" of ether(not a highly recommended starting fluid due to potential cylinder "scarring") and after about ten minutes she came to life...and pulled her train to DC. The mechanic at the mech desk got all excited when he heard that ether was being used, but he wouldn't have had to deal with the 300+ passengers trip plans, had we not gotten it restarted! IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHIN'!..also must say...it was fun to watch Sanders walk over to the work bench for something, then come back by the Ram with his dad and two brothers pokin' around under the hood....but kept going back to his mower project, but still kept listenin' to what solutions actually got her runnin'...Good job guys...and Ronda and Maple!
Great job on the Ram and the video! Bleeding the Cummins is almost mandatory any time it's dry. Injectors seem to air lock. Dairy farmers have to be the most multi faceted people in the world! They can fix anything, or try to😮
I had my first tractor someone give it to me it was a MTD tractor no mower deck that was. Many years ago . Then i started to working in 7- 8 years ago. saved up a reallly long time bought a cub cadet xt2 tractor i had that a very long time. 2021 i bought a cub cadet 2x snow blower. This year in October 26 2023. I bought a johndeere 318 finally. Sold the cub cadet xt2 for 100 dollars that has been sold i sold the cub cadet 2x snow blower for 700 dollars . I bought a snow plow for the johndeere 318 and the 49 snow blower. For it i bought a lot of spray paint for it. Looks good. I also bought a Kubota bx1880 in September 29. 2020.
Another good reason why it’s never a good idea to let your diesel vehicle run dry of fuel, although not in this case…..the problems of getting it started again are similar!.
I had a DODGE like this one new ,at 17,000 miles it just shut off, took it back to the dealership and they said the injection pump was bad so they replaced it, 😅 come to find out the fuel gage was stuck on quarter tank , It was out of fuel SMDH
"Don't do this at home"!! " Then why are we doing it"? No high fives just another job done. It's cool all 3 of the guys have input.
😂
Great job guys 👏
The lift pump will definitely cause the injection pump to fail due to lack of fuel PSI
Keep the old stuff running 👌🇺🇸
It's alive!! I don't know if it's in the future for the farm, but i for one would be very happy to see the guys have a bigger shop to work on stuff!
Putting a block heater on your dodge pickup will help it start easier during the winter time.. I love ur son's dodge pickup. it looks very nice..😊😊
Good luck getting the truck running
Work HORSE , another job well done
Merry Christmas and may God bless you all in 2024❤

You and Kevin have been great influences on the children to not to be afraid of working in jobs that are not sunshine and rainbows
Wonderful Family!! God Bless You All!! This World needs more people like you, please keep those awesome videos coming, Vic!!
Sounds like our farm shop. We do welding, fabrication and all kinds of engine/ transmission work in between chores

Diesels can really test your patience when they have problems. Good job on getting it up and running.

Great video , so good to see the don`t give up attitude , and then the teamwork at the end to finally succeed .

Bravo Rhonda Kevin great result and seeing all the boys together blessings
Love it when you go to the shop to check on the men. Good video Rhonda.

That was impressive guys.
a case of each time a new guy comes along it gets closer to running! shows when they get together anything is possible, good vid thanks

The music Playlist is all ready. 😊
I love it, the sound of an engine turning over , draws all the mechanics together. Family at its best. Love your channel.
Thanks!
That was a great job, everyone working together to get the Dodge started. I have one and had to put a new fuel pump in the tank. I so glad to see everyone working together.

Thanks for reminding me to go out & start my truck. There's nothing wrong with it but it hasn't been run in a couple weeks.
Your whole family is amazing. Very talented.
Thank you!
Good job working on that truck videos you do on UA-cam
What you really are trying to say, you are a "farmer" which basically IS a jack-of-all-trades! Take Care and Merry Christmas.

Some diesels are a real pain to bleed.

It was great! I hope to get him on video talking about it this week! 😃

I think it helps to yell “bring the THUNDER” when you crank it. VVG, some of you will know what I mean
I had a DODGE like this one new ,at 17,000 miles it just shut off, took it back to the dealership and they said the injection pump was bad so they replaced it, 😅 come to find out the fuel gage was stuck on quarter tank , It was out of fuel SMDH

Sorry Rhonda but it does seem like the old battery charger works better lol. I don't know why that is lol weird
Yeah, it's true. 😄
What kind of battery charger is the other one? Oh and tell Ethan to please make me a samdwich. It doesn't even come up on my phone like that lol.
Uhm Rhonda your boy child needs some pants.Ha ha
🤣 Yes, they don't last long.
those new battery chargers have to be "california approved". they are over complicated and don't work as good as the old ones.
Rhonda who is the oldest to the youngest how are you guys doing how is your weather there
Sydney 24
Ethan 22
Mackenzie 21
Sanders 15
Maybe you should get a Chevy would be more dependable and save your labor. ❤
