I’m not a fan of the ones I have they skip around and I have to adjust them mid round. I was thinking about buying these but wanted to see a review first. Thanks for the post!
Do not buy them if you plan on sparring anything more than very light sparring. Literally no protection at all. Save your money and get a good pair of either the Elite Venum shin guards, Top king, or Fairtex shin guards. If you don’t plan on sparring then by all means by this pair they are cheap, stay in place, and light weight
WattsUpDev I can’t say that I’ve had that issue. They do feel a little stiff during grappling, but not at all while kickboxing. For reference, I wear a 32x32 pants size. Not uncommon for someone my height, which is about 5’8”, or 173cm.
I bought these and messed up my foot really bad. I am new to kicking so I'm sure it was partially bad technique but I would advise people who are new to invest in better shin guards because injuries suck
They definitely don't smell bad if you let them air dry after using them (instead of leaving them in a bag or covered in a pile), and you disinfect them once in a while. They're a lot like if you were to wrap some 3/4" (19mm) anti-fatigue mats in some cloth. Nothing great, but enough for accidental collisions during responsible sparring. I'm happy with them, but I like sparring without shin guards at all, and I kick my heavy bag without protection. Most $60+ muay thai shin guards will offer better protection, but these will be similar to the cheaper ($30 or less) pads.
Filip Wypor its been a gradual process. Little by little, since the first day, basically. It didn’t really bother me while kickboxing, but they felt a little awkward during grappling at first.
Okay maybe a weird question but how is it possible that everyone fits one size??? And do you actually have protection for your shins because its so thin, or it certainly does look like that😅
The elastic is tight and flexible enough that small legs and larger legs would fit. Of course, the taller you are, the further the pad will be from your knee. If you check a hard leg kick from someone who isn’t wearing pads, it’ll hurt if you’re new to kicking. Of course, if you’re new, you shouldn’t be sparring with full power kicks anyway. If your partner also has shin guards, it won’t hurt. They look pretty thin, but they feel pretty thick because the padding is kind of stiff. I hope this helps.
Soak them in vinegar for 30 minutes or more, machine wash with warm water, and machine dry on low heat. Cleaning vinegar works better than kitchen vinegar.
dirtyclinchmaster I spray them with vinegar after use. It would be hard to get the water out of them if you threw them in a wash, and I have a feeling the drier wouldn’t be good for them. Maybe I should sacrifice a pair with a wash and dry cycle to see what happens. Anyway, the vinegar does a good job, and there’s no need to rinse. I keep a ton of it since I regularly wash my rash guards and gi’s after soaking them in vinegar. High percentage alcohol would probably also work.
@@Uzunka7a I’m about 5’7” and I was around 140 lbs in this video. I do think they could be too tall for someone shorter than 5’2” maybe. Is that the issue you’re having?
@@Bunta1987qwertyI think they are too big for me and when I kick they move to the left. I weigh 150lbs and am 6 foot tall. I can send you a video clip of me wearing them
Haha. I actually like the metric system since I study engineering, but I know most of my viewers are American, and they don’t care. I really wish we just used metric like the rest of the world.
Thanks man, useful review and exactly what I'm looking for, light and subtle but durable

I hope they work out for you. If they don't, please make a video, or come back and comment. I haven't had any issues, but I'd like to know.

Question my new ones (Venum Cotton ), the foot pads touch my shin pads and don’t allow for great movement is that normal with these cotton ones?

How long did it take for them to curve

Just want to know if they will mess up if you put them in the washer?
I don’t think they’ll get messed up on a low temperature, but the foam would likely take long to dry.
Mine smell so bad ! How can I clean them ?
