They’re enough for showing up to class and doing light/medium sparring. A heavy bag will destroy them somewhat quickly though.

These aren’t heavy bag gloves. They’re sparring gloves, intended for sparring or hitting mitts. You should definitely only use heavy bag gloves on a heavy bag. These gloves don’t have enough padding for a heavy bag, and they won’t last long if you use them for that. I mention it in the video. I hope this helps.

Davud Mulamustafic yes, but they’re not as soft as a pair of boxing gloves. You’ll have to use light contact if you want to avoid damaging your partners, and of course, light contact (to the head) is how we prevent brain damage. I use them for sparring all the time.

For anyone seeing this comment, do NOT use these for sparring. 4oz is way too little padding, even with light sparring the impact is still hard and could injure training partners. I'd suggest 8oz for sparring, but for grappling they work fine.

It really depends on hand size, but I recommend large.

Many fight promotions have their own gloves, to make sure everyone has the same gear. I would say these would be enough support and protection once you wrap your hands, and mine are still in good shape, but I did break the stitching separating the knuckle padding from the metacarpal padding.

Don't use a tape measure like that...use a piece of string around your hand and then use the tape measure to get size.

I still have them. Aside of the initial stitch tear, and the peeling on the inside of the wrap, they've been good. I'm happy with them.

FighTer f 16 you’re welcome. For reference, my coach sells revgear gloves, and they’re more comfortable, but I haven’t sparred with them enough to get a really good comparison.

Justin Johnson I would not. In the follow up videos, I show broken stitching, and also some peeling that occurred from very little heavy bag work.
