The college audition process is confusing to many students, so I wanted to share about how college musical theatre auditions work. I previously uploaded a college audition vlog from Chicago Unifieds and it had great engagement, so I wanted to share some of my college audition tips and an overview and timeline. Musical theatre college auditions have many steps, so I wanted to give some advice for college auditions and share about my college audition experience. I first learned about the college audition facebook groups Crucible Cast Party (which will be ‘The Search for Elle Woods’ this coming year) through Audrey Trullinger’s college audition tips videos, so I wanted to continue sharing college audition advice and even application tips. College theatre auditions for BFA Musical Theatre, BM Musical Theatre, BFA Acting, or any other performance-based degree are taxing and in case someone was searching, "how do college auditions work?," I wanted to share about how college auditions work in hopes that it helps someone else’s process run smoothly. I couldn’t fit everything in one video, so if you want more information on my experience using a college audition coach, college audition outfits, how to choose college audition songs and college audition monologues, etc. definitely let me know with a comment on my community post here: • Post

Hello!!! Thanks so much for the advice! I know that most schools don't require you to use the same material as your prescreens during the auditions, but do you have any idea if using different songs/monologues would be preferable? Or what do people usually do? Did you use the same material or chose different ones? Thanks so much!
i kept my classic song the same & changed my contemp song & my monologue. my biggest piece of advice would be use material that *you* enjoy performing and try not to worry about what type it plays to or what an auditor might think.
Thank you so much!!!
Omg CCP squad!
