    They must have their reasons for placing the battery in this location, but would it kill them to include that info in the manual?!

    • @daspecialist1220
      @daspecialist1220 10 місяців тому

      Im pretty sure they placed it there so one can change battery in the rain/bad weather. Im sure they did mention that in the cars manual. Sucks they wouldn't give u a tool to remove screw. Thought it would be in the same location as jack. Maybe it was and previous owner lost it. Dont know but in the famous words of Forest gump, "thats all i have to say about that" 😊

    Well done, thank you.
    Tools needed:
    T15 Torx (for panel in floor)
    10mm socket (for both battery cables)
    13mm socket (for battery holddown bolt)

      I'm having trouble with my battery on my Traverse. There is a thin rubber hose that seems to come from the right side of the compartment and maybe connect to the battery any idea what that is in this video it's to the bottom of the battery.

    • @bobjackson7516
      @bobjackson7516 10 місяців тому

      @@SkyeeBlue3 It's been a while since I've been in the battery compartment of my Traverse. However, batteries that are stored in the passenger cabin of a car have a hose that goes outside to vent gasses. Lead acid automotive batteries can emit sulfur and hydrogen, both bad for humans. I'd highly recommend to make sure your tube is fitted properly. As a side note, hydrogen is HIGHLY combustible.

    Ya know what, I think that is actually a great location. No, it's not traditional, but it is easy access. You don't get dirty from the other stuff that's under the hood. Thank you for the video, I would have never guessed that that's where it is.

    • @me-un4jl
      @me-un4jl 7 років тому

      Yeah, that and they actually put them here so the battery is much less likely to be damaged in an accident. That way your OnStar, airbags etc will continue to work even in a severe accident.

  • @rmedal4594
    @rmedal4594 2 роки тому +1

    It's a T15 torx.
    The 15 does not mean millimeter in the case of torx.
    For anyone who needs the info: 10mm socket loosens the terminals. A 13mm socket on an extension releases the battery.

      did replacing the solenoid work? Did the engine light go off after unhooking the battery? I just replaced the same on my 08 enclave. has it stayed off? The remote start does not work when the engine light is on and it is getting cold and my wife wants to use it.

    Excellent location, never need to clean off the battery cables and easy access. Thank you for the video, because it does not show it in the owners manual.

    • @emuhill
      @emuhill Рік тому +1

      Wrong. The cleaning of the battery cables is due to corrosion. I can assure you that the Chevy Traverse is no exception to this. In fact the Traverse I'm driving currently, the positive terminal clamp is going to need cleaning soon. It is somewhat corroded.

    A Good, Short and to the point as most videos should be. Others which I didn't view were 10 to 15 Minutes. (To access the battery compartment which is already in the Owners Manual ???) I pretty much knew where it was, but didn't want to look it up in manual. Most of the time, the shorter the video, the better it is.
