This sent me down a rabbit hole regarding the legality of the menstrual blood thing. In the US (the county I live in and am most familiar with) it would probably hold up as some kind of crime, but you could go a couple different ways. Also #Not_legal_advice and #I'm_not_a_lawyer In any case where there is clear malicious intent it would probably be classified as assault. Basically any contact intended to cause harm to a person can be defined as assault, so spitting in their food, for example, or adding ingredients that will make them sick would qualify. I don't imagine the courts would care to make a ruling that "magic isn't real" and would instead focus on the material aspects. Intent to harm *was* there, it's assault. Shit gets complicated when malicious intent is not clear. Adding some menstrual blood to their spaghetti with the intent of making them love you more probably won't meet the criteria for proven malicious intent, so assalt is out the window. States vary on laws regarding food tampering, but most agree that it's illegal in some way. Perhaps "crimal mischief" if they don't have laws regarding "food tampering" that cover non-disease-carrying body fluids. Minnesota, apparently, is ahead of the game and made the specific act of putting body fluids in an unsuspecting person's food illegal after a case in which a man served his boss coffee with semen in it. So, uhh, point Minnesota, I guess.

So, I have been practicing witchcraft for probably 7 years, and I will say that you are right for sure. People have corrupted the meanings and intentions behind many spells and it is sad to see uneducated people spread misinformation and ignorance about witchcraft and it’s beautiful properties. Love spells that involve forcing someone to love you are corrupt and selfish, this will be taken into account by karmatic law. Real love spells like the ones I used to practice involve casting for love to come to you, and it is more like a charm. You don’t need to make someone specific love you, you need to be bringing in love and opening yourself up to the potential it brings by casting, and then you can have a successful love spell in which you have not broken the laws of karma and your relationship will likely be healthier.
YES EXACTLY. despite the fact that using spells to attract good fortune or affection to your life is welcomed, targeting one and putting a love/curse spell on them is a very bad idea

@@crypticmedicine this is why I feel conflicted when people say “I don’t just support women’s rights, I also support women’s wrongs”. Like, I know it’s most likely a joke, but it’s just a little weird.
@@crypticmedicineobviously writing about gay women doing gratuitous violence / war crimes / kidnapping / tax fraud etc isn’t fundamentally different than writing about straight men doing those things, but i also don’t think it’s a bad thing to write about, or wrong to enjoy writing about. you just have to remember this is fiction and that those actions are obviously immoral in reality. yes, many queer women have a lot of enthusiasm for stories about wlw being murderous werewolves, vampires, stalkers, bounty hunters, serial killers, evil empresses and generally not upstanding citizens. this is often because, as women, our broader culture is intent on downplaying their capacity for aggression and dominance, their arrogance, their hubris, their ugliness and all these other negative traits that are nonetheless cathartic to see fictional characters play out. it’s a desire to be recognised as fully human, warts and all. men get to see so many male characters that are fun to hate and uncomfortably relatable in their messiness. guys who range from morally dubious to slightly unhinged to completely and utterly feral. the actors who play them get to chew the scenery while they monologue and bask in the jeers of the audience. within the safety of our imaginations, seeing someone wreak havoc, become unmoored from their humanity or give into their worst impulses can actually be really healthy. it lets us hypothetically explore what our own foibles and insecurities might look like if taken to their absolute extreme. empathising with fictional villains allows us to grapple with the reality that all of us have the capacity to hurt others. that we’re all a few bad decisions away from being the villain in someone else’s story. sometimes the things we want so badly are at odds with our obligations to our fellow human beings, but that doesn’t make the wanting go away. fiction can be an outlet, so long as you remember the difference between fantasy and real life. maybe your writer friend was genuinely forgetting, in which case it’s a fair thing to point out. i just also want to avoid patronising queer women in general by assuming they can’t deduce that the actions of the maniacal, abusive, blood drinking, mind controlling vampire queen in their guilty-pleasure sapphic romance novel aren’t something they should emulate in real life.
@@joa1401 Thank you for your perspective. As an AFAB queer POC writer (and funnily enough given your example, disabled former actor?) who writes and enjoys transgressive fiction, I understand these issues intimately. I do fundamentally disagree with the "one bad day" perspective though -- I tend to believe if anyone is just a "few" decisions away from committing atrocities they've probably not got a very strong moral code, or are used to having a lot of unchecked power. My issue with my friend came from them seeking to justify, in real life as well, abuse committed by lesbians so long as it was against "bad" people, usually white men. Their fiction was actively celebrating the idea of wlw hurting others, as though that behavior would never have consequences. As someone in the queer community who has been subject to racism and violence inside our spheres, I know that violent people aren't weapons for a community to point outward. They will destroy their friends and loved ones too, and then the entire community bears responsibility for their mistakes. I hope this makes my position a bit more understandable. I had no intention of being this specific, but you seem to have put a lot of effort into your response, and I wanted to give you a more thorough explanation in return.

I am Native American and am of traditional Pagan-Wiccan belief and must say how incredibly disappointed I am. This completely demolishes everything we as a community are working for, we are so misunderstood as devil worshipers and nut jobs, things like this are what make it harder for me to publicly share my beliefs. Our main motto is “if one is not doing harm, so mote it be” which pretty much means “if your not hurting anyone do what you want” and it hurts to see people disrespect it and use this incredibly misunderstood religion for clout. These are not my people, may they learn their lesson in another life. Much love to funkyfrogbait for being respectful towards us real ones of the community and understanding this is not us.

The realness of that obsession cast doesn't make the realness of your disregard for human autonomy go away!" It feels like something someone who believes in that stuff would actually consider and internalize. Keep making great videos, man!!
Well and people don’t realize that love spells are meant to be honest and pure, more like a charm than anything. You aren’t supposed to try and make someone specific love you, you’re supposed to cast for love to come to you. By trying to use a spell incorrectly you could corrupt it and cast it completely wrong. This can result in awful things happening, and I can never determine that for sure but my biggest advice to any baby witches is that the “love spells” that you are normally seeing are obsession based and can only end badly. When you are contacting other worldly power you must always remember to be patient and wait for the right time and the right message. You cannot expect good results from a rushed and unpracticed approach. Please use what you learn wisely, because the laws of Karma will come back for you when you least expect it. P.S. As someone who does Oracle card readings, you nailed it on the head. Card readings, whether tarot or oracle, are tailored to be a very personal experience. You want the recipient to be there with you, so that energy is filling the space, some readers even allow the recipient shuffle the cards so their energy and questions are being directed into the cards being shuffled. Online doesn’t create that, it blocks off all emotion and energy, not to mention, devices create an energy field that could interfere with the said reading. Essentially these TikTok witches are just reading them selves, if you really want the truth.
How do you know this energy stuff? When I think of energy I think of potential and kinetic energy, or the bound vibrational energy of quarks and gluons in massless particles. What does it mean for this energy to fill a room, or enter cards? Can we measure this field emanating from devices you're talking about, if do, can we then measure how it effects the energy of a person or reading? If we can't measure it in any way, then how can we know this like you do?
I would say that they could be used for generalized readings like card of the day readings. But honestly, card readings are supposed to be in person to attune to the energy of the questioner, so idk what these witchtok peeps think they're reading beyond, as you said, themselves 😅
I had multiple private online readings and some of them were really on point. They told me thinks they couldn't know but were true. So it really depends on the reader.
As someone with BPD, the Twin Flame just sounds like spiritual justification for some of the hardest to deal with parts of attachments disorders and BPD.
Well the twin flames thing has origins in a cult that encouraged obsessive and destructive behavior. So it's definitely got origins in maladaptive thinking. (to clarify I'm not trying to imply that things like BPD or other mental health conditions are equivalent to a cult, just that it's not surprising that behavior encouraged by a cult like this would feel similar to disordered thinking)
I have bpd for the entirety of this video just screamed "bpd delusions hidden behind spirituality" and honestly it's scary. Untreated bpd can cause serious harm.
Yeah, consent in regards to dream spells, romance/sexual boosters etc. is a HUGE point of contention in witchcraft spaces. My partner has explicitly stated that they trust me to not abuse spellcraft in their direction, but I still check in before casting anything, even something to help them. And NEVER tamper with someone's food, that is a crime.
The idea that there’s a SINGLE soulmate/match/twin flame out there for you was actually an incredibly destructive mindset for me. I avoided dating because I wanted to wait for my ‘ideal partner’ and neglected relationships because I thought: what if they aren’t the ONE? I think there are such things as multiple soulmates, it’s not exclusive. It’s a person you have a healthy, growing, and rewarding relationship with who continue to make each other better people. Me and my best friends are soulmates, just not romantically.
See, you get it! To me, a soulmate is anyone you were destined to meet at some point in your life and stay with for a long time. It can be a platonic, romantic, or queerplatonic bond, and none of them have to be exclusive to a single person.
I don't even believe in the concept of soulmates bc of that, we can have chemistry with multiple people in different ways (romantic, platonic etc), and the concept of single compatibility is a bit silly for me, especially when it goes down to "you're incomplete without the other person" - we're all whole, we just happen to "vibe better" with some people so to say, idk
Like, imagine we're all some sort of food/ingredient - full and great by ourselves, but every now and then we find we go pretty well with some other food/ingredients, that's kind of how I see it lol
Almost ten years ago I was madly in love with someone; he was my first actual love interest apart from some plathonic loves in high school that were basically obsessing over someone from a safe distance, silently. He rejected me multiple times to my face and later fucked off to become a scientologist. I often thought "what if there is really just one love in a woman's life and for me he was it" never really assigned great importance to that thought, but after that I became completely unable to develop and maintain a healthy relationship up until the point when I just gave up dating altogether and chose celibacy
It's also bollocks. Left hand Practioniers do exist but they dont go around advertising it like that. It's the same as the ones that say: I have mental illness so I can get away with X, Y and Z and you have to put with it. People with REAL mental illness only tell those that need to know because they are going to be in contact with them or on an open forum where they are sharing their struggles. They sure as hell aren't using them as an excuse to be an asshole.

Oh my goodness, just got to the twin flame part. People just don't understand it. My twin flame is actually my best friend, we are complete opposites in every way, we're both straight women born 1 year and 4 days apart (I'm the older one) but we have grown so much together the last 18 years and we have lived away from each other before but we always find our way back to each other. Twin Flames is a crazy insane idea for so many reasons. If you haven’t watched Escaping Twin Flames, it’s a great documentary about Twin Flames cult and the people who have been harmed by it.
i used to be in a relationship with someone who believed in twin flames and he was so insistent but very controlling and manipulative in every single way. it's been almost 7 years since i broke up with him but he still haunts my dreams.
The twin flame thing goes even deeper and scarier than tik tok. There's a literal twin flame cult where people are allegedly coerced into staying in bad relationships, pressured into pursuing relationships with people who have made it clear they're not interested (to the point where members have been arrested for stalking) forced into relationships they didn't want, and there's even accusations that they are coercing people (who are not trans) to transitioning. All while being emotionally and psychologically abusive and taking their members' money. Also the leader thinks he's a reincarnation of Jesus. Because of course he does. Both Netflix and Prime have really interesting (and by that I mean horrifying) documentaries about it.
There is also a much better side of Twin Flames. It's a Native American term for gay couples and (I may be incorrect on this, so feel free to look it up to be sure) trans people. ❤ I hate the way the people in this video portray it 😢

I ended up brushing elbows with some weird metaphysical girlies back in the day who told me I had "negative polarity" in terms of my feminine energy (which meant I had feminine energy but my 'twin flame/magical partner' would also be feminine instead of masculine. In hindsight, it is clearly the funniest way I've been clocked as a lesbian to date), but I NEVER got any clear explanation on what "feminine energy" actually IS. Hearing people explain it as "women shouldn't be allowed to THINK" is insane omg. Glad I ditched this community wholesale
Traditionally feminine energy is more nurturing energy, or better yet supportive energy rather than protective. Masculine energy is the energy to face something, feminine energy is the energy to prepare for it.
You use feminine energy most to attract things to you and nurture certain aspects, while you use masculine energy to protect yourself or put something into action.
The funny thing about the twin flame stuff, is that the actual belief states that you are *not* supposed to end up with your twin flame. It’s not just like a super “soulmate.” Your twin flame is essentially the other half of you, but like looking in a mirror. They will tear you apart. It’s supposed to be a learning experience. You learn about yourself from your twin flame, but in the most painful way. Like learning a fire is hot by getting burnt. And they don’t always have to be romantic connections, it could be a best friend or sibling. It really irritates me when people take these real beliefs and misconstrue them so badly. It’s harmful, and it waters down the actual belief. Like when it was a trend to say “x is my spirit animal!” when a spirit animal is a native american belief with deep, spiritual meaning. Not a cute animal you like. Anyways, love your videos funkyfrogbait!!

In Greece, Plato believed that humans were originally created with 4 legs, 4 arms, 2 hearts, 2 brains, etc. but that the gods felt humans would be too powerful and ended up splitting us in half, leaving us to wonder the earth in search of our missing half. In Hinduism, the concept is shown through Shiva and Shakti, and is understood as one soul between two bodies. It’s very possible that many other cultures share similar beliefs. The term “Twin Flames” itself is not used in these cultures though, it was coined by an English author named Marie Corelli. It’s used today basically as an over arching term for the concept shared through many cultures. It’s definitely hard to find information out there that hasn’t been romanticized about it because it comes from cultures that are so old and rich with history. I’m no expert myself! I just try to do my best to learn the actual historical and cultural beliefs that these spiritual concepts stem from.
“Real beliefs”? Surely you don’t mean “beliefs with a basis in reality”. Therefore, the other meaning would be “Beliefs actually held by a person” which these “misconceptions” would be. Therefore, saying “real beliefs” means nothing here.
Funky frog, I'm not gonna lie I was nervous when I saw the notif for this video bc I'm a practicing witch and I was worried you'd kinda...dunk on all of us. I remember around the time technoblade died there was a lot of tiktok witches saying they worked with him as a pop culture deity. It really disturb me when they did that. Because to me it sounds like they were disrespecting his memory and were using it for clout.
It’s unfortunately down the similar avenue of those types of people who claim they’ve contacted celebrities and/or content creators after they’ve JUST died, and try to “talk” to them beyond the grave for the sake of gaining clout. The lack of self and moral awareness in some people is almost frightening.
You are not a witch. I work with Techno as a pop culture deity and I treat him just like I treat the other gods I worship! It’s a form of mourning and something that doesn’t hurt anyone, if you don’t do proper research on this stuff you don’t have a right to talk about it imo
funny enough with the whole pop culture deity, that's kinda a thing in Shintoism. the phrase is "8 million gods" but it really means an endless number because anything can be a god. if something compels you to act and inspires you it can be worshipped as a god for the emotions it provides. This means figures like Jesus, Mohamud, and Abraham are all often considered Kami because they inspire a lot of people. it's a really interesting idea if tiktok didn't make it dumb.
That actually explains some things I simply can't get my mind wrapped around lately. Last year or so some stories (novels? Antologies? Mangas? hell knows) by the name 'Heaven Official's Blessing' started to get WILDLY popular. From what I was able to understand from it it's essentially g@y p*rn written on a Chinese self-publishing site and I have no idea how it got so popular, but in my understanding it plays with the same idea of people ascending to heavens for being too popular and other things that might make perfect sense in Chinese but in translation they look pretty off and weird
@@weirdlittlesisterSo, Heaven Official's Blessing or Tian Guan Ci Fu was a webnovel, yes, written by the author MXTX who also published two other webnovels, Mo Dao Zu Shi and SVSSS, one of which gained a live action that got super popular in 2019. While her previous works did have smut in them, Heaven Official's Blessing is the only one of them not to have anything explicit, so I'd very much hesitate to call it porn. Its just basically a BL romance with a lot of bureaucracy, worldbuilding, action, and mystery (i mean there's even a mecha in there towards the end). But yes, it does follow a lot of the Chinese high fantasy tropes of Heaven including a huge amount of gods who ascend if they prove their amazing at something or show a lot of honorable traits, ie ascending cuz you can fight super well, or if you have a lot of valor, etc. MXTX's other works actually are more low fantasy, but that's neither here nor there. And while I'd hate to just say that Japan's Shintoism is exactly the same as what you find in Chinese high fantasy, if you're not well versed in either, yes it is very similar.
@@summernovah Oohhh ok, I kinda just assumed it's p*rn from the readers reactions on forums, which have probably contained a lot of shipping and adding elements that were not in the original :D Nevertheless, thank you very much for the clarification!
@@weirdlittlesister no problem! Glad I could help! Altho one last clarification, there is implied sex in one of the epilogue chapters after the story finishes, so while it's not explicitly in the story, there is some extrapolating fans can do. But in general, a lot of fans of TGCF love to write/read smut of the couples (maybe since there's none of it in the actual story itself this time), so I'm not surprised you've run into it lol
@@weirdlittlesister TGCF (and MXTX's other novels) actually gets pretty deep! Though it's usually framed as a romance, it has a pretty intricate plot that delves into deeper issues such as class and the ability of one person to make a difference (and the toll attempting to do so can take). It's definitely not a fluffy romance book that just has bits of plot here and there to propel the romance (though there's nothing wrong with those types of books either!)

I learned about witchcraft practice from my mother who learned from her grandmother and one of the most important lessons was „never do magic on or about someone who doesn’t consent“ that goes for scrying practices too!
As a witch and pagan, I love that you're making this video. WitchTok is such a double-edged sword: on the one hand, it shows people who might actually be interested in witchcraft or paganism some insight into that world and gets them to see these possibilities, however, there's also the scammy fear-mongering side of it which is just... bad. Especially with the love spells and such that skip the entire consent part (that just gives me the ick). Also as someone in a polyamorous relationship the Twin Flame stuff makes me cringe internally.
Thank you!!! I have been Wiccan since I was 15, and nothing I learned was in this video lol. What I was always taught was “do no harm”. That;s a very common saying amount witches and pagans alike. The way social media has turned such a beautiful connection to the world around us into… whatever this is, is heartbreaking. (I was also always taught to never fuck with those spells that influence other people. The energy you put out into the universe will always come back at you x3)

As a witch the only “love spell” I’ve ever done is on my man, since he enthusiastically asked for it to heighten our connection, as he finds it sensual and intimate. Consent matters for suuuure. Also twin flame rhetoric gave me legit spiritual psychosis when I was younger! It’s so so dangerous.
I'd never heard the term "spiritual psychosis" before, but after looking it up, I found it described something that happened to me when I was a teenager. the doctors concluded I was just having anxiety attacks, but the things happening in my head felt...very different from those, much more vivid, far far worse. after I got healthy again, the question of what had really caused it all still gnawed at me for ages. so thank you for sharing this message, I feel like a decade-old mystery finally got solved 💚
Exactly. Or my favorite love spells are ones done for yourself and to love yourself is the most important key to finding love. Once you accept and love yourself you are fulfilled enough to love others. Also CONSENT!!! Literally I never do a spell without that persons permission.

I’ve been practicing for a long time and the only “love spells” I do are CONSENSUAL and with intention of nurturing or reenforcing something that’s already there. Love isn’t something you can force. Plain and simple.

At 9:00, you mention how creepy love spells are, and you're so right! Many people who practice outside of the "Almighty App" refer to them as magical roofies, because that's basically what they are. I'm a Christian witch who left the mainstream Church because of the way I was treated for non-witch aspects of myself (namely, being autistic, physically disabled, and pansexual). So many modern pagan practices trigger my "pushy Christian" alarm bells. There's a huge problem with ableism in the manifestation corner of witchcraft, the belief that talking about and asking other people to care about your disability is manifesting poor health and disability, and that simply pretending to be well will make you better. This is extremely similar to the "you're not healed because you don't believe God will do it" healing teachings of bad churches I've gone to in the past. The masc/fem energy mimics the "God hates gay relationships because they're not how he intended us to go together" teachings. Many of those "this reading was made for you" posts prey on paranoia, OCD, and anxiety in a very similar way to "if you leave Jesus you go to Hell" does. Many people left the Church for one reason, didn't do any work to dissect their other potentially bigoted beliefs, and hauled the rest of their trash into a new religious circle.
You hit the nail on the head. There's a reason there's a pagan/witch to right wing fundamentalist pipeline, and it comes from people never doing the work to unpack the toxic ideas they were raised with.
it's always nice to see other Christian witches. and I very much agree. I've noticed that a lot of neopagans are former Christians that think that the religion is the only source of bigotry, and that because they're pagan now, they can't be shitty in the same way. They also decide to appropriate beliefs from cultures they don't understand beyond aesthetics, and then don't actually understand the weight of the things they throw around and how many of those things are early explanation for mental illness/physical disability, and our modern explanations are actually much preferred by the people in those cultures. as much as i love being fed eggshells and getting given iron jewelry (which i am allergic to), i think the explanations of autism/ADHD, anemia, cEDS, and the genetic lottery of recessive traits is a lot nicer, and doesn't require me to crunch eggs and deal with rashes.

Pagan here. Who doesn't use tiktok at all. Great video! The whole manifestation thing is also pretty dark once you start looking under the surface. It has roots in Christianity (Religion for breakfast here on YT did an explainer) and often comes with a very big dose of victim blaming and toxicity. And for all spells and practices consent should be the first thing to take into account. Dragging someone in your practice without proper informed consent is religious abuse.
Yeah the love spells section felt really icky. Growing up Norse Pagan, this is just crazy. My mom always told me that I should never take karma into my hands. Except the one time she did towards my father who is a pedo, abusive guy soo When someone treats me badly I do get upset but the only magic I'll use is my ritual to let go. Basically disconnect myself from the person who hurt me so I can heal in peace. If these things even work, the intention alone is enough to bring back karma onto those casting it Just love yourself like you want to be loved & you'll attract that love. At least from my experience
@@sparrow.6392 that's actually fine in my eyes. The punishment will fit the crime. It's not you actually causing harm, you're just asking Karma to work faster. That & if that person did nothing wrong then nothing will happen. It's trying to play jury, judge, & executer that's the problem. Actively trying to cause pain to someone else & playing karma is never good. I've used return to sender on an ex of mine who really hurt me. Take that sharp object & carve your name into one. Then the persons or things name you're trying to let go of in the other. The ends of your string together around the candles to tie them together. Then place your candles in the bowl of salt (make sure there is enough salt that the candles stand upright) Light both candles & let them burn long enough for the string to catch on fire. Allow the string to burn all the way. While the string is burning, breaking the tie between the two candles, recite: "(person or things name), this portion of our soul contact is now complete. I now release the ties that bind. I now claim back which is mine." Close your eyes & visualize the energy being returned to you & the connection being broken between you & the person/thing. Allow the candles to burn down completely. Then dispose of the wax & bowl of salt into the nearest water source, while giving thanks to either nature or whatever you believe in (I thank Loki normally since I'm specifically Lokean) Tbh though the cheapest way is just using yourself & nothing else. Similar to how Christians pray or manifest. Just focus on letting go of this person & just ask the universe or whoever that you want to help you let go. You are inherently powerful without candles & spells. It's just sometimes it's more effective for others to have a visual aid.
for the longest time the tiktok definition of a twin flame had me genuinely delusional and NOT moving on from a break up because i thought i was going to get back together with them. once i ignored that stuff i was able to heal and now im in an amazing relationship with someone new! i grew up in a spiritual household so i am no stranger to paganism but its so easy to be manipulated by something fake when you’re vulnerable you know?

As a non-binary witch, yes, you hit the nail on the head on how toxic pretty much anything on manipulating someone else is. I mean, duh. We personally view "masculine" and "feminine" as NOT equal to "man" and "woman". As in, someone who identifies as a 'man' can be all kinds (or none) of 'feminine', and so on etc. There is no limit to how a human can express themselves and choose to present. The danger arrives when someone sees 'masculine' and 'feminine' as opposing forces or something. In competition. That is WRONG. They are 2 sides of the same coin and every single human has traits of both. And they are not limited to humanity -- those traits exist all over the natural world.

The period blood thing should be classified as biowarfare. That's just insane.
Some kind of assault at a minimum
why did i have to play this vid as i was cooking spaghetti??????
I am quite certain that, if proven, it would be State Prison in many places in USA.
Any person who had a simple retail job knows that blood and bodily fluids is a biohazard and can be detrimental to other people’s health.
This sent me down a rabbit hole regarding the legality of the menstrual blood thing. In the US (the county I live in and am most familiar with) it would probably hold up as some kind of crime, but you could go a couple different ways.
Also #Not_legal_advice and #I'm_not_a_lawyer
In any case where there is clear malicious intent it would probably be classified as assault.

Everytime I hear about masculine vs feminine energy, it throws me into a very feminine rage.
It's also a thing that is a centuries old thing that a lot of older cultures and ancient religions have done (like how some ancient mythological gods come with both a masculine/male variation of themselves as well as a feminine/female version).
Something I think was mentioned in an OSP video.

Feminine rage is just high velocity lipstick (I hope you realize how much I don't mean that.

Much love to funkyfrogbait for being respectful towards us real ones of the community and understanding this is not us.
exactly, we're not all doing it for clout and it hurts to see the amount of disrespect
Exactly, I’m an indigenous eclectic pagan and it’s already so hard to find accurate religious beliefs for my people, and since I integrate traditional pagan beliefs/rituals seeing this type of stuff on social media makes it even harder to 1. Find accurate info and 2. Not be seen as a freak. I’m so grateful this video was made respectfully but I hope people watching take it with a grain of salt and recognize THIS IS NOT WHAT WE’RE LIKE. Like I promise 😭
I’m a Celtic “pagan” (I don’t like calling myself a pagan) and I hate the appropriation of cultures going on, and calling things of Celtic culture “witchcraft” like the Celtic knot. It hurts so much to see my beliefs and culture misrepresented like this, and turned into a gothy aesthetic. And I bet most of the people appropriating stuff like that - especially people appropriating the fae - couldn’t name a Celtic deity or story if they tried.

Y'know, I really like how Funky doesn't just go "magic STUPID and you're STUPID for believing it!" They kinda follow through on that thread of logic like "hey! that love spell your using? infringes on consent! The realness of that obsession cast doesn't make the realness of your disregard for human autonomy go away!"
It feels like something someone who believes in that stuff would actually consider and internalize. Keep making great videos, man!!
Nah, she is the real witch!
Yesss this is something that ALL witches should learn, and also cultural appropriation which is a biggg problem.

Id also like to say, years ago i had seen a creator post about witchcraft being a dangerous and scary thing that people still have to worry about and look out for, it made me feel dejected and looked down upon for a craft that has brought me joy. Seeing you post without negative judgement for the craft itself but for the people abusing it online, was really wonderful and a nice change of pace for me to see! You're awesome, as always
Hi just a question does that mean the titok lives don't actually work because it's over the internet? Thank you if you find the time to answer :)
@@arianneclarke8319 can’t the if your being sarcastic or not 😆
How do you know this energy stuff?

My farts are better than FunkyFrogBait's

The "i use dark magic" defense feels like the equivalent to when comedians say they have "dark humor"
No, Why they’re different :dark humor is used to make light of or explore serious or taboo topics. It combines humor with insensitivity, cynicism or skepticism, to amuse or provoke thought. A comedian is being paid to perform and entertain audiences.
This is different than an individual claiming to use “ black magic”. It’s just a way to seem mysterious, more powerful, and trying to justify their lack of ethics or moral standards.

Glad I ditched this community wholesale
i heard its not that but i'm unsure

This is some interesting belief. Can you tell me more about this belief? Like, the origin and stuff? I tried to google it, but most information is the misconstrued/romanticized versison
@@ilmianafirmantika8079 So it’s a concept in Greek mythology, Hinduism, I believe ancient Egypt as well, but I haven’t done too much research into Ancient Egyptian culture and beliefs.
They are all a bit different but along the same lines.

I remember around the time technoblade died there was a lot of tiktok witches saying they worked with him as a pop culture deity. It really disturb me when they did that. Because to me it sounds like they were disrespecting his memory and were using it for clout.
That is super creepy imo, I seriously doubt he or his family would appreciate that…
It’s unfortunately down the similar avenue of those types of people who claim they’ve contacted celebrities and/or content creators after they’ve JUST died, and try to “talk” to them beyond the grave for the sake of gaining clout.
@@GhostDreemur121 psychosis
@@annika2873 what
funny enough with the whole pop culture deity, that's kinda a thing in Shintoism. the phrase is "8 million gods" but it really means an endless number because anything can be a god. if something compels you to act and inspires you it can be worshipped as a god for the emotions it provides.

No consent sounds like a recipe for karma to come back and bite you anyway. I don't understand why people think it's okay at all.

Oh hey! Same hat!

Like especiallly "they cant function without you" and essentially forcing people to fall in love with you(or at least attempting to do so I personallydont believe supernatural stuff exists broadly speaking but you can have your own beliefs) thats really weird and gross, i dont want my partner to be literally dependant on me, dont get me wrong being clingy CAN BE cute and some people might genuinely be so close they wanna spend LITERALLY every moment together but forcing someone who doesnt express love that way into doing that by any means is awfwul

ex-mormon here & can 100% confirm the toxic manifestation culture. speaking things into existence w/ no action or accountability is not manifestation, it's delusion. especially when it comes to witchcraft. fun fact, mormons do baptisms for those who have passed in the temple w/out their permission so they "have a chance to choose the truth on the other side of the veil" which is so extremely disrespectful of not only the dead, but their loved ones as well. 100 yrs after someone passes the lds church can request ANY name to baptize. keep in mind it is usually teenagers doing the first round of baptizing. so as w/ any belief system christian or not, do your research people it gets weird. but yeah religious abuse never realized that till now

Growing up Norse Pagan, this is just crazy.
My mom always told me that I should never take karma into my hands. Except the one time she did towards my father who is a pedo, abusive guy soo
When someone treats me badly I do get upset but the only magic I'll use is my ritual to let go. Basically disconnect myself from the person who hurt me so I can heal in peace.
If these things even work, the intention alone is enough to bring back karma onto those casting it
Just love yourself like you want to be loved & you'll attract that love. At least from my experience
What do you think about return to sender spells as a form of protection?
@@sparrow.6392 that's actually fine in my eyes. The punishment will fit the crime. It's not you actually causing harm, you're just asking Karma to work faster.
That & if that person did nothing wrong then nothing will happen.
It's trying to play jury, judge, & executer that's the problem. Actively trying to cause pain to someone else & playing karma is never good.
I've used return to sender on an ex of mine who really hurt me. Especially cause I wasn't sure if it was all in my head or if he actively was doing me wrong.
He now is homeless & jobless, having to rely on others which he definitely hates. Found out he was using his family, his friends, & me for awhile.

@@daisydrop yeah, definitely. I have a few but I will be back in a second to give you my kind of basic one.
@@daisydrop so you'll need 2 white candles (I suggest small teacup sized candles as they burns faster), some string, a bowl of salt, & a sharp object.
Take that sharp object & carve your name into one. Then the persons or things name you're trying to let go of in the other.
The ends of your string together around the candles to tie them together. Then place your candles in the bowl of salt (make sure there is enough salt that the candles stand upright)
Light both candles & let them burn long enough for the string to catch on fire. Allow the string to burn all the way. While the string is burning, breaking the tie between the two candles, recite: "(person or things name), this portion of our soul contact is now complete. I now release the ties that bind. I now claim back which is mine."
Close your eyes & visualize the energy being returned to you & the connection being broken between you & the person/thing. Allow the candles to burn down completely. Then dispose of the wax & bowl of salt into the nearest water source, while giving thanks to either nature or whatever you believe in (I thank Loki normally since I'm specifically Lokean)
Tbh though the cheapest way is just using yourself & nothing else. Similar to how Christians pray or manifest. Just focus on letting go of this person & just ask the universe or whoever that you want to help you let go. You are inherently powerful without candles & spells.
It's just sometimes it's more effective for others to have a visual aid.
Oof, the end there demonstrates perfectly how the "new age hippie" to tradwife pipeline works.

And the two people who run the cult had a daughter recently and believe her to be their "third twin flame" or something. It's really alarming.
just wanted to praise "as many hoaxes as there are hexes" that was absolutely stunning

I was so hyped to be on witch tok right when I got to it, and then I realized how little of it actually has to do with the practice and like the genuine beliefs behind it and so I was like oh this is really sad. i’m still learning all the time about my practice and things I wanna know and shit like that, I just don’t understand the people that are literally trying to manipulate other people in the name of paganism (or just spirituality, not necessarily just paganism, i’m using it as a placeholder.
yes!!!
