The style is very straight edged and basic with attack and defense being highly formulaic and coming strictly at 90 and 45 degree angles, but it is amazing at multiple opponents which is why once Kit started using Jar'Kai (dual wielding) with that First Form he could fend off all 4 of Grievous' lightsabers at once and would have beaten him if not for the MagnaGuards

To give extra credit to Fisto, he is the ONLY Jedi aside from Windu to survive Sidious's initial burst and managed to stay alive until Anakin reached the office in the novel and comics from Legends. @@thegeekfanatic okay yeah, Palpatine isn't someone to take lightly but two things that show that Grievous is stronger. 1. Grievous literally kidnapped Palpatine while also fighting off several other Jedi and Clones so if that doesn't make him stronger then I don't know what to tell you. Secondly Palpatine barely had any form during his fight with Windu when he was fighting the other Jedi and more looked like he was blindly swinging the sword around and everyone else was just unlucky enough to get hit.

When Dooku says "so, there is room for improvement", that can both apply to both Grievous himself & his skill. Consider this, if he replaced his white armor plates around his body with ones made of Beskar or "Mandalorian steel". The metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes. If had replaced the parts of his body like so, those blaster bolts Obi-Wan fired would've bounced right of him.

If your wondering why general grievous in canon is weak then in the 2003 version is because George Lucas himself said that he was never intended to be that strong.
During the production of 2-d micro series which was directed by genndy tartakovsky George Lucas only left the note on grievous was that he was a jedi killer so genndy assumed that grievous could take on Jedi masters and knights and could only be defeated by more skilled master like mace windu or obi wan.
When genndy showed George Lucas he applaud him but Lucas thought it was a bit too much for grievous to that strong because he was only meant to take on jedi knights.
One more thing George Lucas didn’t have a lot of time when making the prequels trilogy because of the three year deadline of every film and because it was time consuming. In the end he really tried his best yes there are a lot of problems with the prequels but things can go much worse (looking at you Disney) and why he created 2008 to give more inside of the clone wars.

This is how I want to remember Kit Fisto. Not the ROTS version.

you underrate him in that fight it was against the most powerful sith who had mastered every lightsaber combat and kit had managed to fend off some blows against the form which counters his also kit was selected as one of the jedis to take him down so kit was actually one of the strongest jedis of that genertion

Fisto kinda reminds me of an Asian martial artist or samurai like Sensei Wu or Master Splinter. He clearly has elements of it too which makes him underrated.

1:30 but like....why did he wind up a saber swing?

Probably expected Fisto to try and block it and the extra force to knock his lightsaber aside. That's assuming there was any thought put into that bit by the animators though.
