- How To Make A Bo-Ho Wedding Bouquet Using Floral Egg
So a floral egg? No, it’s not something for Easter, it’s an armature to use to create bouquets either for weddings or as a gift. This egg is a modern re-invention from Syndicate Sales in America and is easy to use. The advantage is the support that it gives for heavier materials. Is it better than just hand tying flowers? Well, you will probably use less material, so the bouquet is a bit lighter physically, but if you are happy just hand tying then great, if not then this could be a good help. Knowing both is a good thing - and anything new is worth exploring. As a re-invention it was a technique that was of value before - this gives you a consistent egg. Happy designing!
Ingredients - we used a big variety of garden style materials, including hydrangea, large headed roses, spray roses, amarine, phlox, pink calla lily, eucalyptus, French ruskus, salal, sedum, hedera and more!

Stunning bouquet! Love how it just floats with happiness and freedom. Beautiful, John!
😊 thank you so much 🌼
A nice bouquet for a larger woman wearing a plain gown. Not too many petite brides could carry it off well. And brides with more elaborate designed gowns, seed beads, crystals, lace and ruffles--that sort of thing wouldn't want a bouquet that detracts from the gown's design. That being said, I do love the organic look of your bouquet.
Agreed! Beautiful bouquet but I'm tiny as heck lol that bouquet would cover me up lol. Stunning arrangement though!
Hi John! Now that we are all quarantined here in Spain I'm re-watching these videos, they feel very different now that I have been to flower school last Autumn! Thank you, this bouquet is very beautiful!
Sergio Teodosio thank you! That a great way to keep busy 😀🙋🏼♂️
@@FlowerJoos yes, absolutely I can't wait to get back with flowers when they'll be available again!
This bouquet is beautiful and I’ll have to find that floral egg, I want to use that for my daughters flowers I’ll be doing for her wedding this year! Awesome thank you for all the information I learned a lot.
Thank you ! Good luck with your bouquet - good to have a practise in advance, but the egg idea really helps. 😀🙋🏼♂️
Thank you for getting the egg to have a go at - the results were wonderful. I have used the 4 inch egg with mixed results but after your video feel much more comfortable giving it another go.
This is great! I was there when Holly first started using wire to create her “eggs” and am thrilled that is so simple now with them available in plastic! I appreciate your instruction so much!!
Buffy H thank you! Yes, it’s a good product for creating volume rather than just a hand tied technique.
Have a great day! 😀🙋🏼♂️
The flower arrangement is pure happiness. You did an excellent job arranging the flowers. Thank you for sharing John.
What a glorious bouquet!! The new floral egg and other shaped plastic arrangement holders, look like they are going to give you and other florists, options in your arrangements, that weren't possible, or difficult to accomplish, with the floral foam. If this option catches on quickly in the floral community...imagine...all that could be possible! :) Gretchen Belken
I think I do not have words to describe what I feel: that is just breathtaking! So majestic, so Grand. You do have magical Hands. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Greetings from Portugal.
well done! love the large lush bouquet. I see that someone below commented about the size maybe being a bit large for some brides, but it can very easily be made on a smaller scale. Eggs come in two sizes.
Roslyn Taylor that is true. You would make to suit the bride that is for sure, but the method and style would be the same really. Thanks for watching 😀
I loved watching you work and thank you for introducing such a thing! I've always loved that shape/style of boquet but didn't know how to achieve it. Now I can make one for my own wedding!
Bry thank you! That style can be a bit heavy with all that material in it. 😀🙋🏼♂️
Love watching you work, so amazing what you create. I look forward to watching many more. Thank you for sharing Flower Joos.
Thank you 😊 more to come 😀🌼
Dear John, it is so artistic playful ‘putting in happy mood’ bouquet! Thank you!!!
Elena Bonar a wedding bouquet should be a bit happy I hope 😀
Just want to say thank you for your videos! I watched this one and a few others and was able to make my own bouquet for my wedding! I loved how it turned out and I received tons of compliments ❤️
Cheryl Lynn that is brilliant - did you have a practise session or just go for it?
Flower Joos you know, I didn’t even think to have a practice session! 😂
Cheryl Lynn sometimes that is best - depends how you are in a practical sense. If you have good hand skills then first time you are riding high on enthusiasm and energy. If not so good with your hands then a practise let’s you work out the structure.
Well done and thanks for your message 🙋🏼♂️😀
Stunning! Am excited to try this technique. Thanks for sharing. ✨🌿🌸
Than’ you! Yes it’s interesting as takes less material compared to a handtied version . 😀🙋🏼♂️
A marvellous demonstration and fabulous flowers to enjoy with my morning coffee. 😀
Most bo-ho bouquets I've seen have dahlias and other spikey flowers, but I like the color and flower in choices in this one better 🌹👍
Thank you! 😀🌼🙋🏼♂️
John…Anything you make..very impressive! ❤it!
Thank you 😊 🌼
I like ur abundance u always have more than enough to work with ....all this different foliage made them extraordinary add more value to the the bride,s garment its shows up first to the guest its important that the kind of bouquet to spice up the beauty of the bride and also her dress ...i believe in beauty its elegant enough to show off with , walking down the hall !!!people will love it specially extravagant lifestyle guests 😁😁😁😁😁its just beautiful!!!!❤
...
Even though I see it being done before my eyes it always amazes me how it turns out! Just love this art!
Jillian Rogers thank you 😊🙋🏼♂️
John you are an inspiration! This is a beautiful bouquet. Thank you for your videos!
Kristian H thank you so much!
Morning John and Janos xx
John this is exquisite ❤️ This is my style completely! However, I could never hold so many stems at one time and keep them in place!! You’re right, when they get huge they are difficult to handle...especially with little hands like mine. I feel very lucky that I am recommended to create lovely gentle garden style bouquets and weddings for many years. I don’t do so many now but when I do... you can find me in my studio smiling my socks off xxx
Thank you both again for sharing your talents and love of flowers
Love Jan (she of the secateurs from you, that she loves to use lol) xx
Jan Leytham-Gain thank you Jan! Glad you are enjoying using them 😀😀 thank you for watching us

rita Sanchi hello - thank you! Hello to Costa Rica 🙋🏼♂️🌸
Me encantan todos tus arreglos florales!!!!😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much! This was so informative. I made my own cage and it turned out great. So support for a big bouquet.
Veronica Haig thank you! Yes, you can make your own - this was used years ago to create large bridal bouquets 💐 😀🙋🏼♂️
This is fantastic. It’s huge, was wondering if you could do a video using it more condensed.
Thank you 😀 that’s a good idea - I need to get more floral eggs
Enjoyed this a great deal and love the end result. I’m interested in trying this technique out soon! Another great shirt, by the way!😉
Henry Stollard thank you - I went with floral to tie in 😀
Great demo on egg and the arrangement was beautiful
tabatha crabtree thank you - I think this is a good product, especially for large, full bouquets.

Floristry has truly come a long ways. This technique is fascinating!!! Great job as always!
Joe Sullivan thank you!
Bravo! Stunning work, full of harmony of color and taste, high skill! I admire that!
Veta Flower thank you so much 😀
I used the chicken wire to make a floral ball. It helps me a lot to build the free style bridal bouquets especially I have small hands and grips.
Betty 604 good suggestion to use chicken wire 😀
Love your videos! I have learned so much. Would love to see a wedding arch or pergola floral design. Thanks for all the great videos!
Marco Braun we have an arch coming up this year but probably in August/ September . Thanks for watching 🙋🏼♂️
You have no idea how helpful your videos are i just love them love the different foliage for texture i think we have a very similar point of view in design😁👍👍👍👍👍❤❤
Vane Catmom thank you! I do like foliage 😀
This is stunning! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you 😊

Gorgeous!!!
I love so much your videos.
Tremendous talent!!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
love flowers much that is why i am so excited at how you will work your hands with the flowers in all your videos.. #LearningLot
Now just a nice bride hanging off your left with thay beautiful bouquet. 😉👍💕
Jane Smith she would need to be strong enough to hold this - maybe not so good for a petite bride 😆🙋🏼♂️
You did a great job for your first attempt. Is that the 4 inch egg or the 8 inch egg? Also, This is a great way to use up leftover flowers. I use plastic ZIP TIES to bind bouquets. This is so easy as you can pull the tie as loose or tight as you want and you don't need to spin the LARGE bouquet in order to tie it. Thanks Again for your videos.
Amy Colt I think it was the 8 inch - it was the big one that’s for sure. That’s a great suggestion to use a zip tie or cable tie - very secure! Thanks for watching 🙋🏼♂️
Once you start using cable ties you will never go back to anything else
Another completely interesting video. INTERESTING THEY USE TO USE WILLOW.....Beautiful really beautiful...but that is HUGE.
Agusta Sister it is big!
It’s so calming to watch you work, and this is stunning! I just wonder if there’s a way to use this technique, but somehow wrap those ends together so they’re not free and sticking out, if a more formal finish is required? Would it risk breaking the stems, as they’re put in at all different angles?
jasmine commerce I know what you mean - thus style lends itself to keeping the stems. It is possible to bring the stems together and then bind them with ribbon, you just have to bring them together carefully, then tie, then wrap. I tend not to fully wrap though - seeing the stems below the wrapping point looks more natural. Just aim to wrap the bit that is held.
Thank you, John!
I just heard about this. I cant wait to use this! Using the foam always make me nervous because you have to glue every stem.
Tomika Kelly it is good - but both have there place. The egg liners you go big and wild, the foam is great for flowers in a shower style, where you want them to drop straight down.
Thanks for watching 🙋🏼♂️😀
Very pretty bouquet 💐
you're incredible.!!! I love your creativity!
Елена Эйне thank you 😀
Beautiful and, yes boho tend to be very large but it's a style.
My question is would you put bouquet in water till the event?
Deirdre Entrup yes, because this is essentially a tied bouquet it can be left in water up to the tying point, then when ready to be boxed can be trimmed and finished - then delivered. So it can be very fresh.
I leave the stems longer than the finished design so they get a final cut on the day.

GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
😊 Thank you!
Absolutely stunning John. ❤️❤️
Jackie Johns 😀🙋🏼♂️
I totally love it it's beautiful
I Love that Bouquet
Hello John! Wow! Truly stunning and so so inspirational - thank YOU! Could you tell us how much a bouquet like this would cost to make and RRP - would be good to know this info in your videos too. Thanks so much for sharing your immense skills and knowledge!
Hello,
I love this loose, boho, big style without it being heavy. Is there a way to do this arrangement but having the smallest handle possible? Floral foam?
audrey1053 you could use floral foam, but you would probably need the biggest size of holder and then this will have a certain weight also. The floral egg allows the materials to sit nicely apart so you need less yo get a very full effect. The stems then create a counter balance which a big bouquet in foam wouldn’t have. So you would have a handle but the bouquet could be quite front heavy. I think if you can try both and test each option before the day required.
@@FlowerJoos Thanks! I will try smaller versions to see the difference.
So glad I subscribed! This is beautiful.
Joanna thank you!
Really beautiful ....
Thank you 🤩
Absolutely Gorgeous , Gorgeous !
Beautiful ❤️
tjoff tjoff toss turn fiddle twist fiddle some more and.. BEAUTY! ;-D Gosh, this was a fun video all the way though. So many textures, lots of greens and details yet so hilariously fun and beautiful.
Anna-Karin Uhlén thank you😀🙋🏼♂️
So beautiful…..
Thank you 😀
just lovely
This is gorgeous! Can I ask what that huge lovely yellowy leafy stem is at 2:37 ? X
Thank you! That is a stem of eucalyptus with berries - it is really nice. Not sure of its name exactly but definitely eucalyptus 😀🙋🏼♂️
It’s just beautiful!! Love it:)

Maravilhoso !!! Lindo !!!! 😍😃💕🌹
Marinalva de Souza Machado 😀😀😀💐🦋🙋🏼♂️
Just wondering if you could use a mix of artificial and fresh flowers in a bridal bouquet if the flowers are out of season.
Yes you could - faux flowers now can be exceptional in quality and thus can be a good solution for out of season flowers or difficult flowers to keep in hot weather perhaps.
😀🙋🏼♂️
Superbe bouquet !
Thank you! 🌼😀
beautiful!

Muy bello
아오 너무이뻐...최고~~~♡♡♡
감사합니다 😀🙋🏼♂️🌼
Overall i love the arrangement, but just a little advice, maybe next time you could wear a brighter color tshirt, so we could see much clearer the floral egg
Atas Sariwulan ok - that is a good suggestion. So lighter and plain maybe?
Absolutely beautiful! How many stems would you say you used?
shannon eaton thank you very much! I honestly don’t know how many stems were used, but I made a handtied version at the weekend, without the egg, and it required a lot more stems to get the volume, and this made it quite heavy. So the egg reduces weight and stem count but gives the volume needed for the look.
Fabulous!!
What do you do to preserve the bouquet before the wedding? Do you keep them in water?
Stephanie Warren if hand tied or still with stems then yes, put in water up to the tying point. Then place could tanner and bouquets somewhere cool and shady . You could mist with water but lightly, and even gently drape with a very thin plastic film - just to keep material fully hydrated.
Then just take out, final cut on stems , finish off binding and box, and cover. If they are fully hydrated this is all you can do. 😀🙋🏼♂️
I really like it nice
Diana Sengchanh thank you 😊 🙋🏼♂️
Omg beautiful what id do to have my bridal bouquet made by you
Madison wow - thank you!
@@FlowerJoos I could never do or find anyone here that does something like that i really love all your work

Excellent
Very good

Love it 😍
Thank you 😊 🙋🏼♂️
Better hope she's a bride that works out! haha
She was 😀
This arrangement is so beautiful! Can I ask what size that egg cage was? I see them being sold as 4 inches and 6 inches.
Libby Morton thank you! I am pretty sure it is the 6 inch cage - though it was a while ago this was made. For this size of design then bigger is better 😀🙋🏼♂️
@@FlowerJoos thank you so much! I appreciate the reply! And I love your videos!
Libby Morton thank you! We love that people engage with us 😀❤️
@@FlowerJoos Hi! I have another question for you! 😊 Do you have a guestimate of how many stems you used in this arrangement? Thank you!
@@libbymorton7554 just had a rough count - roughly 50/60 stems including foliage? 😀
love it!!
Thank you 😊
Hello, thanks for your videos, i have a simple question, do you know where we can buy eggs (and frogs) like you use in this video (as a professionnal), in Europe (BENELUX to be precise), thank you!
Caroline Lumia this is a question - I know country baskets in the U.K. brought them in, but I don’t know for the Benelux area, sorry.
I love all you videos
Nou Xiong Thank You 😊
This is my all time favourite style! Where did you buy the egg from John? Please can you add a link to the site? Thank you :)
Sal Stanbury I managed to get a friend to bring some over from the US, so I didn’t buy them at any wholesaler direct. Sorry 😬
Thry are still kinda pricy in usa...
Das nenne ich mal einen Brautstrauss. Auf diesen Strauss wäre ich sehr stolz gewesen.
Andrea Socke Vielen Dank - es hat Auswirkungen 😀
I wld have thought it wld take foam inside - at least that is how Ive.seen it used.
The idea is that it creates a structure so you don’t need foam - an armature. But that’s also possible, but it makes it the same as a pre-made bridal holder then.
veri good
It's beautiful but isn't it big for a bridal bouquet?
Maria Galiotos thank you! Yes, it’s meant to be large and theatrical. Old pictures of bridal bouquets show some really big ones - bigger than this!
Sou brasileira .
