Aw Jem, hi....thank you so, so much for being kind enough to get back to me with such a lot of information - this is great, and has definitely given me something to think about, as I may need some help with this small bouquet, although I really, really want to do it myself, so I will take everything on board what you have said. Can't thank you enough.... Kind regards - Roz xxx
Thank you so much for all your help putting together different bridal bouquet. I’m doing my nephews wedding Friday and with your help hopefully his bride and bridesmaids will love their flowers .
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed today to make flowers for a friend’s wedding. I’m an amateur florist and the owner of the studio I work at always does the bridal bouquets so this will be my first. You saved my day!
Thank you so much! When I first started floristry I found using the foliage as a vase in my hand, I could place the flowers exactly how I wanted and it looked a lot neater! Defo the best technique! I would love to see your hand tied! Xx
Thank you so much for this video! I am making a bridal bouquet for a family member and I have never done this before! Your tutorial was so helpful. The wedding is this Saturday so wish me luck:)
can you simply do these the night before and leave them in water? what flowers are in season on October? I want my bridesmaids to wear pink so im thinking of pink and white flowers, I love these flowers and all of the foliage, I have a rustic venue and think it would go well, but I'd like to inject some pink in there somehow! would love any recommendations
You can yes. If I have a big wedding I start 2 days before and leave them in water and just keep checking on them. In October, you can still get a lot of pink flowers like astilbe, roses, spray roses, delphinium, dahlia, hydrangea, hypericum berries. White flowers you can also get gyp, delphinium, ranunculus, scabious, Veronica. Most foliage are available like thelaspi, eucalyptus, poplus, silver dollar all popular in weddings xx
How long does the flower last? Can I make it a few days in advanced? Should it be stored in the fridge? Does the water need some sort of food for the flower. 😊
Hiya! I would make them no longer than 2 days before the wedding and keep them cool, you don’t necessarily have you use a fridge, I don’t have one, but it depends where you are in the world. I know the states use fridges as it can get super hot in some places. I don’t use flower food, I just make sure the stems are cut at an angle each day with fresh water xx
how long can they last out of water? Like do you deliver them to the bride in water and they stay there until right before ceremony? Also will flowers wilt if being transported in a van for an hour or 2? So many concerns lol
Hey babes! I deliver them in a bag with cellophane in with a bit of water at the bottom. They will get a good drink this way and last the whole day. No, they won’t wilt, just make sure you have the air con on if it’s a hot day xxx
Hi! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Do you post bridal flowers as well? if yes? What is the best way to do it? Maybe a future video
Thank you so much for the explanation. The bouquet is very beautiful! I will definitely make my own now. I know all the bouquets have the ribbon on them now but growing up (back in Germany) I remember, the bouquets were wrapped all the way to the bottom. Likely to avoid the green stems staining the dress. Is that still a thing or outdated?
Thank you for your comment 💕 It’s more popular now to just tie the top. It’s a very traditional way of wrapping to the bottom of the stem. I mean it’s just personal preference, if you feel more comfortable with wrapping all the stems that’s fab. There is not right it wrong way xx
OMG, this is gorgeous and your video is so helpful! I'm just a beginner here and know very little about flowers. Would you be able to list the greenery you used, and the names of the flowers too? Thank you!
Hi Jem Do you have any tips for me making a bouquet and other arrangements, I’m disabled so I fatigue, I have tried to make a bridal bouquet in the past but my hands ache?😮 thanks Gemma
If your wrists are aching you can gentle lean the bouquet down on the dye of the table at the binding point so the flowers aren’t being crushed on the table. When I first started floristry my wrists and thumbs were in pain when I was making bouquets so this little trick is helpful. In time you will get used to it and the pain will fade xx
I had a lady follow this video with artificial flowers, she couldn’t get the exact ones, but she used eucalyptus, large roses, spray roses, gyp and pampas. It looked lovely xx
Hi, thank you for this tutorial, Im making a brides bouquet soon (and also bridesmaids bouquets and buttonholes!) Can you tell me are these flowers in season at the very beginning of November - if not could you suggest alternatives? Also do you have any tips to keep fresh buttonholes fresh made the day before the wedding? Thanks so much!
Hi lovely! Yes these are all available at the beginning of November. With the buttonholes, I soak a block of oasis and put them in there until the next morning. If you wire your buttonholes I would put them in the fridge xx

Hi Jill! I use a cricut machine to print out vinyl stickers the stick them to poly ribbon. You can also get the letter vinyls already cut from a wholesaler or online xxx
Hiya! Sure I can help. Always make sure the stems are at an angles and continue the same direction with every stem or they will sit straight and the stems will snap. Try holding your hand further down the Stem, it’s easier to spiral xxx
Hiya! Yes if you keep it in water and a cool room, just make sure the flowers are looking fresh and no bruising or marks before you give it to the bride xx
Hi, at what point do I throw in the flower food sachets? I need to keep my flowers looking good for 3 days before my wedding... so scared they droop and die.
Hi Jem, just watched your bridal bouquet tutorial, and it was really, really helpful thank you. I am wanting to make my own, and I want a spring woodland bouquet with blue cornflowers, buttercups, daisies, forget-me-not, muscari and some twisted willow. I'm going to have to make it about 30 hours before my wedding. My questions are: is that too long before I get married, and are all those flowers in bloom at the end of May..?? Thank you so much, and I would really appreciate some tips. Roz. x (I'm using my hubbys you tube page)
Hi Roz! Thank you so much! Ok, let me give you come advice, some of these flowers you have mentioned are wild flowers not cut flowers. So the flowers you can get are: Twisted willow, I get this out my garden lol. Blue cornflower is fine also Muscari, you will need to get a cut flower version from a florist or wholesaler matthiola daisies (cut flower daisies)- these will have to be sourced by a florist or wholesaler For buttercups you can’t use these, there are other flowers you can get that will work that you can get from the garden which will be yellow Ranuculus (they are part of the same family) ladies mantle foliage will give the same vibe. The reason you won’t be able to use the ones above are because the stem isn’t long enough and they will die within a few hours. I recommend not making the bouquet any longer than 24 hours before the day, but just keep an eye on the bouquet and keep it in a cool space and take any foliage or guard petals off. Change the water at least once and cut the stems at an angle when you change the water xx
@@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091 Hi Jem...thank you so, so much for replying so quickly with all that wonderful information you have given me. I will definitely take on board what you have suggested with regards to choosing others alternatives for my bouquet. I may have to have some help with this, but I really, really want to do it myself. I actually don't want it to be perfect, just really rustic, and quite 'meadowy' so I will probably be alright. Thank you so much Jem, that's just great....regards - Roz. xxx
I put it in a vase or a bag and make sure the ribbon isn’t anywhere near the water line, then cut the stems shorter in the morning. Sometimes if it isn’t a big wedding I will just ribbon them in the morning xx
Oh really! I sometimes if I have a big wedding start making the bouquets two days before. What I do I cut a square of cellophane, but it in a floristry bag and fill it high enough for all the stems to drink and keep it in a cool space. The more compact the bouquet the better xx
Thank you my brother and his fiance are finally getting married after 40 years together she wants me to make her bouquet l watch you now maybe l can try

So pretty!! Gem, do you ever use anything other than warm water to condition your flowers?? Like Quick Dip?
Thank you!! I don’t no, we don’t really use quick dip. Are you from the states? Is it any good? Xx
I am from the States. I just started out in Floral and saw that a few people use it, so I was just curious! I haven't, though.

Love it you make it look so easy..I always grip mine too tight 😢
I used to!! I learned to hold the stems further down and they naturally sit more freely in your hand xx

What kind of tape did you use?? Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
Hey lovely! It’s waterproof floristry tape from oasis xx
Hi Lovely! Thank you for the tutorial! I was wondering which size Oasis waterproof tape do you use? The 1/4 or the 1/2 wide? Or does this matter?
Hey babes! I use any size, they all work the same. Although I do think you can get a really thin one, try to avoid this as it will take longer xx
Do you leave them in water over night?
I did yes, I put a sheet of cellophane in a bag and put a bit of water in there so it stays hydrated xx
Would this keep for 2 days?
Hiya! Yes if you keep it in water and a cool room, just make sure the flowers are looking fresh and no bruising or marks before you give it to the bride xx

How do you put it in water at night when it already has ribbon on it ?
I put it in a vase or a bag and make sure the ribbon isn’t anywhere near the water line, then cut the stems shorter in the morning.
Sometimes if it isn’t a big wedding I will just ribbon them in the morning xx
Perfect 👌👌
Hi Gem , what is the tape called that you wrap around the bouquet .
Waterproof floristry tape xx
Thankyou x
Is it ok to do the bouquet 3 days before the wedding?
It is yes, as long as you keep it hydrated and cool and check on it. It’s all good xx
How much would you charge for something like this?
Hi Katherine! This size I charge £120 xx

I can’t find any populus eucalyptus do you recommend anything else for a draping effect?
Sure, dusty miller is one of my go-to’s, parvifolia eucalyptus, soft ruscus, ivy, asparagus fern xx
