ALSO (sorry I’m commenting as I’m watching): I really love that you talk about dat flaky scalp!! (God I kind of hope nobody ever finds these comments I make on curly and asmr videos 😂) Anyway, it’s important that we talk about “unsatisfactory” things and deshame dandruff. You’re a beautiful woman, you seem to have normal hygiene (despite your claim to the contrary haha), and you have a flaky scalp. Sebbhoreic dermatitis is a medical condition that we literally can’t help. Mine definitely seems to be seasonal, but I’ve found apple cider vinegar (unfiltered) to help the most; a couple of curly girls on instagram have also talked about a line with acv integrated that could be a good option for us as well. OH MAN YOU JUST MENTIONED MOPTOP CC. The curly custard is my favorite product I’ve found. I get great hold and definition from it and highly recommend it for anyone who is trying to simplify their routine. Okay I think I’m done. I really just need to start my own curly videos at this point hahaha. ❤️
kalliedoscope I actually did that one time and people got so upset Bc I stupidly didn’t split my hair down the middle, so ppl said it wasn’t fair. Which made sense! I’d love to do it again with my hair parted in the middle 💛 and yes girl!! Dandruff is real and I struggle with it. I’m going to make a video next week on scalp health because ppl don’t talk about it enough. ALSO yes the custard is BOMB 🙌
IndiaBatson I watched that video (around the time it came out) and thought it was great! I’d suggest even just switching the sides of your part - meaning one wash day put your favorite dupes on your smaller side of your part (the lesser hair side) and the high end on the fuller side; then on another wash day, the opposite way. It’s hard to account for dew points but if you try to do it with days that have similar weather conditions and activity, I think it would be more true to how your hair looks. Or yknow you could just do one day of full dupe hair and another similar weather day of full high end. That would probably be easiest hahaha. #curlscience ➿⚗️
After watching your videos, I finally saved up and invested in the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Masque, which doesn't come cheap in India (1500 rupees) and I have been loving it. My damaged hair is slowly being repaired and now I can see the texture even without product in it! We don't get a lot of curly hair lines here so I just use what we've got, but the investment in the deep conditioner has been an investment I'll treasure. Would love to try the Yogurt variant but the Yogurt line isn't available here :(

I'm living in Germany too, and I know this sounds weird, but I've actually been using the Alverde körperlotions from DM as a curly hair conditioner. If you look at the ingredients in the Curl Talk conditioner that she recommended and if you look at the ingredients in the lotions, they are practically the same. I just apply the lotion when my hair is still wet in the shower and maybe mix in some more jojoba mixed oil from Müller to the lotion. Then do praying hands. It sounds crazy, but just do some research on the Inhaltsstoffe, and maybe try it out. Alverde is only 2€ anyways compared to these 8€ products. Also, side note, i dont use any of the alverde, lavera, etc. conditioners because they all have more ingredients I can't pronounce or recognize than the lotion has. And I have never had a problem putting the lotion on my skin, but if I used the conditioner as a lotion on my skin, i know i would have break outs on my back or something.

We have REALLY similar hair types, so I'm so so happy I found your channel. You're a Godsend.
PS: For your scalp, have you tried BRIOGEO's Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo? I THINK it's sulphate and silicone free (please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone).

You should try the new activated charcoal line from shea moisture I believe they have a build up buster dupe in that line and would be cool to see you try the whole line. Loved the video I believe when I buy high end products it evens out price wise because I need to use less products than with the cheaper ones
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. It’s so hard to find anyone on you tube with a similar hair type & the hair Type really translates what product might work best. It’s great to have 2 price ranges👍🏻
So excited to see this! It is so hard to find good drugstore options, but she’s moisture is one of my favorite brands and I’m so going to have to try that conditioner!!
I love! Thank you for this, I often cannot buy high end things especially when my toddler sister gets into them😭 this is perfect because there's alot of high end products that I'm curious about but I think I'll try these dupes first!
Not your mother's brand has been one of my faves for about 8 years! Worth the couple extra dollars. I've used the dry shampoo, shampoo and conditioner, and other things. Love that brand!
I got the scalp massaging brush after seeing your bf use it in one of your videos. Its amazing! Wow it totally changed the game for me..I have problems with build up and flacky scalp and it rly helps.
do you apply products everyday? Ive watched basically all your hair videos. Should it be Day 1: Wash with regular shampoo and apply products. Day 2 & 3: Refresh with a little water and that refreshing product? Day 4: Cowash and reapply all the products from day 1? Day 5 & 6: Refresh with only one product Day 7: Wash with regular shampoo and apply all products I'm confused on what my actual daily routine should be. Should I be rewetting completely daily or not?
well depends, if on day 2 your curls or waves looking a little loopy then just refresh the pieces that need to be fixed and if on day 3 4 5 6 or however long you haven't washed your hair, are looking straight then refresh with water or if you want you can apply a lightweight product that can bring them back to life.
I currently have the coconut shea moisture and am waiting run out of it to get Not Your Mother. I have the same hair type as you and desperately need a weightless shampoo
@@gabbymeguiar3957 Yes. So if you have fine, closer to wavy hair don't get it. Try Not Your Mothers. I have thick but more on the wavy side hair, when I got a devacut and they used low poo, my hair had more volume.
I think a not so weightless shampoo would help keep hair down. My hair has started getting wavy and curly at the ends, all of a sudden, so I like knocking out the frizz.
Hey India, can you do an updated winter hair routine? Do you still use DevaCurl style cream combined with wavemaker? I just started CG method this year and idk how to do my hair for the winter. I’m in Nashville, so we get the same weather y’all do in Atlanta.
I'm going to have to look into all of your dupes! I use all Devacurl products right now, and it is expensive!! BTW...your blush looks fabulous with your lipstick. Is there anyway I could get a link to the blush, or what color it is?
I recently switched to Sheamoisture Shampoo and Conditioner. My problem is when my hair is dry, it seems like I can't brush it without it getting frizzy and all my curls are gone until I wet it again, I know it sounds like a dry hair problem but I can't seem to manage moisturize hair without it looking wet :(
I'm confused would India Batson's hair be considered curly or wavy? A lot of people have their own definition of what curly/wavy should be, so I really wanna know. She's got beautiful hair either way. 😍
Would you plz mention a silicone, sulphate free and protein and coconut free shampoo and conditioner and leave in. My hair is 2c but sensitive to protein
Do you prefere the manuka honey and yoghurt masque above the manuka honey and mafura oil intensive hydration masque? Because that was your favorite in the beginning? Love your curls
LottieVD they are totally different. The Mafura oil one is for moisture. While he yogurt one is for definition (: I still love the Mafura oil one! (: just didn’t make the cut this year lol
Considering you love DevaCurl products, can you give some thoughts as to why you don't recommend their gels over the Amika or NYMH gel. DevaCurl has 3 gels to choose from and would love to know if you've tried all or any.
Chloe McWhorter I have tried them!! I don’t know why, they just don’t work for me /: not my favorite /: something about the formula is weird for my hair. The gels featured in this video however are BOMB
@@indiabatson26 I have another quick question. I'm somewhat new to this so will prob seem dumb and obvious:) I'm a little confused on when you actually use the cowash. Is this everyday in the shower except for your regular wash days when you'd use your low poo and one condition?
If I prefer use one brand and I am already using devaculr supercream and I really love it so I should stay with deva for other products? And I have natural hair not color treatments So I should stay away from proten ?
What's the difference between a curl cream and a gel? My hair is type 2 wave, it seems to have sufficient moisture and protein but I still struggle with frizz especially when it's humid. I'm looking for an affordable styling product to keep my waves under control without drying them, and I'm grossed out by gels. Would a curl cream be sufficient or do I need both? What about a foam or mousse? I live in Europe so brand options are limited but any advice would be helpful!
Hello I got some of these products from your recommendations when you initially posted this video. Yet I have not used the haor masks yet. So for the affordable hair mask dupes can you tell me the best way to apply? Should I mix them together or just do them individual one after the other? Thanks in advance I cannot wait to try them out!
I know this is a little weird but I get nervous when going to the store to buy curly hair products because my hair is all over the place sometimes wavy sometimes curly sometimes straight. I don’t want someone to say you don’t have curly hair. Any tips I know this is weird I’m just a nervous person
Ash ._. You cannot worry about what other ppl think babe. You gotta go in there, get your product and get it. And if Someone says something to you you can either say YES I HAVE CURLY HAIR GOODBYE OR YOU CAN SAY ITS FOR YOUR CAT. Lol
I totally understand. However, we have the hair we have. The key is learning to wrk with what you have! My hair changes its curl/ wave pattern depending on its length, the weather, and a host of other factors that are beyond my control. So, finally at 63 years young, I work with my hair and we have become a team. I don't fight what I can't control. The products that I primarily use are: As I Am Cowash, Eden Body Works Deep Conditioner, coconut oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Shea Moisture Coconut Oil Leave in, Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel, ACV and H20 rinse when needed (not in the shower because the acid in the vinegar isn't good for tile). Sometimes I use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie or Kinky Curly Curling Custard ....don't care for Not Your Mothers, or Deva Curl.
I know plenty of girls with straight hair that use curly products either for texture or for moisture or because they also want to be sulfate and silicone free. No one is giving any thought to what you're buying but yourself ♡
Have you tried not your mother shampoo and conditioner bluebottle? That’s the high moisture one? I didn’t know if it’s a good one. Thank you for this video!! This is sooo helpful for me!!
What are the types of products that are good for enhancing 2b wave? Is there a particular order they need to be applied in? If so, what is the suggested order?
Thank you so much for this video! I always search for videos of recommended products for wavy hair but I rarely find someone with hair just like mine, so thank you 🙏🏾
I just got my NYM curl talk order!!! I also have DevaCurl wavy hairline too. How do you incorporate both lines? When do you decide to use the NYM shampoo over the Low-Poo delight and even the cream or gel products? Does it make a huge difference with your hair?
Danielle Bartlett hmm depending on the day and how my hair is feeling I’ve learned what products to use. Sometimes I mix the lines and sometimes I just think each line works best with its products. You will just have to play around is what I’m saying, basically. I hope love NYM as much as I so
India do you tone your blonde hair with shampoo or toner. I am trying to go curly girl Method but my light blonde hair needs to toned a lot to keep the brass away. If you do tone your hair what do you use ?
Abbie Green I don’t tone my hair, although I probably should /: sorry I wish I could be of more help!! Ill do some research tho Bc I get lots of questions on this
Thank you for the video! I’ve just recently started the curly girl method and being on a tight budget (literally pocket money :v) it’s quite difficult to find affordable effective products....I sure will be purchasing one or two things!
I've been looking for a custom dandruff shampoo so I'm glad you mentioned prose ..decided to give it a shot I hope it helps! Also! I dont know if I'd call this a dupe but biolages dry shampoos are my all time favorite personally.. and I believe its sulfate and silicone free there's one for oil and one for volume
Have you ever tried the raw sugar brand? I think they are curly girl approved please try for me! And or the innersense I’ve heard good things about them too!
I recently purchased devacurl products for curly hair but I’m thinking I need to repurchase it but for wavy hair. The curly hair no poo and conditioner actually makes my hair dry and makes it even more greasy than it normally is. I’m hoping the products for wavy hair will change that. But, until I get the money to buy the wavy hair products, I’m gonna try one of the drugstore brands you’ve talked about and give them a try.
Hi India, it's Jen. Love hearing WHY you recommend a product or not. You do a good job and it's helpful for deciding what might work for me. My 2c waves are super thick, course, dry and low porosity so what works for you is often too light for me. However, it gives me great info into what it does and helps me decide what may or may not work for me. I love the yogurt mask from Shea Moisture and some NYMothers Naturals as well. Thanks for the great video!
Derrick Watkins that makes total sense. So if I say a product is too light for me, it REALLY wouldn’t work for you. Or if I say a product is too heavy for me, it might work for you (: love that! Thank you for your support !!!!
I use a NYM Chia Seed dry shampoo from their natural line that is free from parabens, silcones and whatnot. I like it it's very volumizing. FYI I read the ingredients of the Clean Freak dry shampoo and didn't see what would make it not CG approved.
The reason to your itchy scalp could be buildup from the Devacurl products. Some other youtuber stopped using the line for the exact same reason. They aren't really curly girl method approved, they have beeswax or something like that in them. Edit: here's the video ua-cam.com/video/gXezMdYOpW0/v-deo.html

Not your mother's brand has been one of my faves for about 8 years! Worth the couple extra dollars. I've used the dry shampoo, shampoo and conditioner, and other things. Love that brand!
I want to try a lot of these products, I just haven't been able to yet. Thanks for this helpful guideline! You hair is beautiful 😍
bianca calvo I hope it’s helpful !!!!
girl I love watching your videos regardless if they are 20 min. !!! :)
Kate Benson sorry it was so long 😅 had a lot to fit in lol
@@indiabatson26 girl that exactly my point tho! I dont care if your videos an hour long! they are always so nice to watch
Kate Benson you are THE BEST 😭 have an incredible weekend Kate!
I know that Shea Moisture has a build up buster in one of their lines. Don't know much about it thought.
I got the scalp massaging brush after seeing your bf use it in one of your videos. Its amazing! Wow it totally changed the game for me..I have problems with build up and flacky scalp and it rly helps.
Büsra Kara IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKE IT AS MUCH AS I DO 😻💛
What is your routine? I’m just curious about what products you use as a fellow Turkish friend (yea I’m from Turkey too) 😄
I can’t believe your brush has lasted that long! Mine died within 2 months 😟
The scalp massager really is amazing. My boyfriend asked for one for his birthday because we’re always arguing over mine.
Thank you for the affordable dupes!! ♥️♥️
Nithya J yayyyy ☺️
India, you as a baby tho!!!! One of the most beeeautiful and adorable baby/pictures I've ever seen in my life!!! 😍
Hey! Unrelated to this video, but I saw you wanted to get a sample of the Rise mushroom juice awhile ago and wanted to see if you were able to get it.
Is there a reason you use the Shea Moisture 100% virgin coconut oil conditioner instead of the Shea Moisture curl and shine conditioner??
I bought the Wave Maker, and the NYM gel because of you, and I’m obsessed with both!!!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Your thumbnail picture is sooo dope!!!!!😮♥️
That's crazy you're so close to 150k! Early congratulations! I always love your videos! 😊
Rebecca Romine thank you babe!!! your support truly means so much to me
What lipstick are you wearing ? It looks beautiful!
Jelaine Brown tarte tartiest liquid lip: birthday suit. It’s my FAV
do you apply products everyday? Ive watched basically all your hair videos.
Should it be Day 1: Wash with regular shampoo and apply products.
Day 2 & 3: Refresh with a little water and that refreshing product?
Day 4: Cowash and reapply all the products from day 1?
Day 5 & 6: Refresh with only one product
Day 7: Wash with regular shampoo and apply all products
I'm confused on what my actual daily routine should be.
Yesssss😍😍😍
You should try Shea Moistures Curl Enhancing Smoothie it’s not a gel or a cream it’s like in the middle. And it’s light weight!!
Christye Lynn ah me too😍
I currently have the coconut shea moisture and am waiting run out of it to get Not Your Mother. I have the same hair type as you and desperately need a weightless shampoo
ApRiL3706 I think you will LOVE the NYM shampoo! It’s super weightless
Does Shea moistures coconut shampoo & conditioner weigh down your hair? I was thinking of buying it.
If u like those 2 gels u should try the blueberry jelly from curls it’s just like those and smells heavenly
Hi India - I have just subscribed to your channel after having watched a number of your videos - You are an inspiration! X
I Love the longer vlog’s. Can older women ( 60’s )have beautiful hair.
Love and Blessings to you and your family.
**Brandi**
Brandi Reichert heck yes older women can have fabulous hair !! My mom is turning 60 soon and her curls are fabulous 💁♀️
India thank you for always being so kind and helpful
Brandi Reichert yess ma'am you can you just need to put in a little work. I'm sure your hair is gorgeous:)
Livi , thank you so much for your kindness. Love and Blessings to you.
Brandi Reichert thank you! Love and blessings to you as well!
*internally screaming* YAY! ✨✨✨
Samantha Quinonez AHHHHHH YAYYYYYY NOW IM SCREAMING TOO
Haha I first read it as "internationally screaming" 😂😂 - from Denmark ❤
MsBellyFlopBounce ME TOO 😂😂
Hey India, can you do an updated winter hair routine? Do you still use DevaCurl style cream combined with wavemaker? I just started CG method this year and idk how to do my hair for the winter. I’m in Nashville, so we get the same weather y’all do in Atlanta.
I'm going to have to look into all of your dupes! I use all Devacurl products right now, and it is expensive!! BTW...your blush looks fabulous with your lipstick. Is there anyway I could get a link to the blush, or what color it is?
I recently switched to Sheamoisture Shampoo and Conditioner. My problem is when my hair is dry, it seems like I can't brush it without it getting frizzy and all my curls are gone until I wet it again, I know it sounds like a dry hair problem but I can't seem to manage moisturize hair without it looking wet :(
MDG 7 dont brush wet, add the curly girls group on facebook to learn more. A denman brush and remove sections of teeth
You are so beautiful, my hair is curly too 🙌🏼🙋🏻♀️
Yer tv thank you for your support babe XOXO
does anyone know if she has a 2020 version? looking for high end curly hair products
Love this but what about leave in conditioners!!!!????
Have you tried any products from the Miss Jessie’s line?
Would love to see you test out Shea moistures weightless collection 💕
Have you tried an apple cider vinegar rinse for your flaky scalp? Changed my life :)
Danielle Chaney best most affordable option!!
I'm confused would India Batson's hair be considered curly or wavy? A lot of people have their own definition of what curly/wavy should be, so I really wanna know. She's got beautiful hair either way. 😍
Julie Riveraa i consider it wavy (:
Guess I'm going to the store tomorrow for more Not Your Mother's 😁 Thanks for looking out for us curlies on a budget! 💖
Updated 2019 products please! 😁🙏🏼
Where's the link for the earrings? 🤷🏻♀️
Also the not your mother's scrub is meant to be followed by a shampoo. It's not a shampoo on its own. That's how you get the beads out.
Candice Cress I just added the earrings link ☺️☺️
You give the best curly hair advice my curly hair never felt more soft after i try deva curl as well .
video Gayplayer yayyy thank you so much for your support!! Thrilled to hear you are loving your hair 💛
@@indiabatson26 Ooooh cool! thanks didn't know that. maybe ill try the yoghurt one too then, the scent is amazing
I'm somewhat new to this so will prob seem dumb and obvious:)
I'm a little confused on when you actually use the cowash. Is this everyday in the shower except for your regular wash days when you'd use your low poo and one condition?
do you have high or low porosity hair?
High
@@cirlygirl1486 thx, I have low
I love how u reply to so many comments!
If I prefer use one brand and I am already using devaculr supercream and I really love it so I should stay with deva for other products?
And I have natural hair not color treatments
So I should stay away from proten ?
What's the difference between a curl cream and a gel? My hair is type 2 wave, it seems to have sufficient moisture and protein but I still struggle with frizz especially when it's humid. I'm looking for an affordable styling product to keep my waves under control without drying them, and I'm grossed out by gels. Would a curl cream be sufficient or do I need both? What about a foam or mousse? I live in Europe so brand options are limited but any advice would be helpful!
So today I found Hair Wax...
Hello I got some of these products from your recommendations when you initially posted this video. Yet I have not used the haor masks yet. So for the affordable hair mask dupes can you tell me the best way to apply? Should I mix them together or just do them individual one after the other? Thanks in advance I cannot wait to try them out!
hello i just spent hella $$$ at ulta, THANK YOU FOR THIS !! can’t wait to see how it all works out 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
You reached your year end goal! 🎉
Hay beautiful
Can you please do a brand they sell in England/UK 😢😢😢
Ammarah Ayaz I’ve recently found a few sites have started selling deva curl x
I know this is a little weird but I get nervous when going to the store to buy curly hair products because my hair is all over the place sometimes wavy sometimes curly sometimes straight. I don’t want someone to say you don’t have curly hair. Any tips
I know this is weird I’m just a nervous person
Ash ._. You cannot worry about what other ppl think babe. You gotta go in there, get your product and get it. And if Someone says something to you you can either say YES I HAVE CURLY HAIR GOODBYE OR YOU CAN SAY ITS FOR YOUR CAT. Lol
Thank you so much! I’m gonna try you what you said. And you’re hair
Is the best.
Cyndi Kehrli thank you so much!
I always search for videos of recommended products for wavy hair but I rarely find someone with hair just like mine, so thank you 🙏🏾
Ever tried the Briogeo line? I personally don't like it..but everyone seems to be raving about it!!!
Little Miss mention their Rosarco oil at the end of this video actually (: its AMAZING
The video everyone needed!
love you gorgeous💕
Jade Victoria yayyyy thank you bb!!! Hope it’s helpful 💛
Have you tried the Eden Bodyworks Almond Marshmallow Serum? Apparently can be used as a light gel.
This video is awesome! Well worth the wait so don't worry about it not being out on time :D
Rachel Walker I was SO FRUSTRATED YESTERDAY!!! Thank you for this comment ☺️💛 glad you enjoyed it!!
@@indiabatson26 You're welcome!
I hope love NYM as much as I so
@indiabatson... How do you feel about the Prose products now?
Which Devacurl product line do you think is better: Delight or Original?
India do you tone your blonde hair with shampoo or toner. I am trying to go curly girl Method but my light blonde hair needs to toned a lot to keep the brass away. If you do tone your hair what do you use ?
Abbie Green I don’t tone my hair, although I probably should /: sorry I wish I could be of more help!! Ill do some research tho Bc I get lots of questions on this
Products start at 2:50
Thank you for this! I went and picked up quite a few of the dupe products today on your recommendation
Thank you for the video! I’ve just recently started the curly girl method and being on a tight budget (literally pocket money :v) it’s quite difficult to find affordable effective products....I sure will be purchasing one or two things!
I live of Maui Moisture!!!! Perfecr for us on a budget!❤
You probably got this before but you look so much like Adele it's crazy, both very beautiful 💕
Love your videos!
I've been looking for a custom dandruff shampoo so I'm glad you mentioned prose ..decided to give it a shot I hope it helps!
Also! I dont know if I'd call this a dupe but biolages dry shampoos are my all time favorite personally.. and I believe its sulfate and silicone free there's one for oil and one for volume
i bet you get this all the time but your blue eyes are strikingly stunning and beautiful you are so blessed
More people need to make videos like this love you girl
Have you ever tried the raw sugar brand? I think they are curly girl approved please try for me! And or the innersense I’ve heard good things about them too!
I recently purchased devacurl products for curly hair but I’m thinking I need to repurchase it but for wavy hair. The curly hair no poo and conditioner actually makes my hair dry and makes it even more greasy than it normally is. I’m hoping the products for wavy hair will change that. But, until I get the money to buy the wavy hair products, I’m gonna try one of the drugstore brands you’ve talked about and give them a try.
Dang, everyone's talking about the NYM curl talk line. But should I try the gel or the cream?
I just bought it this week and I already love it! I bought the cream. 😊
Jess L girl it’s gooooood lol hmmmm they are both amazing and work so well together. Maybe the cream?
Simply amazing video!. You'll reach 500k in no time♡
Etascope awww that means so much to me babe!!

Not your mothers dry shampoo is amazing, have you used it?
Fancy681 I have not tried it!! Do they have a CG method approved one by chance?
@@indiabatson26 The one I used wasn't, I actually forgot alot of their stuff isn't CG approved, sorry
Fancy681 oh no that’s ok (: I use some non CG products, what’s the one you like called?
@@indiabatson26 Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo
I use a NYM Chia Seed dry shampoo from their natural line that is free from parabens, silcones and whatnot. I like it it's very volumizing. FYI I read the ingredients of the Clean Freak dry shampoo and didn't see what would make it not CG approved.
Hi, my hair is half nice wavy curls and half straight, have you any tips to get the straight ones to show more texture?
The reason to your itchy scalp could be buildup from the Devacurl products. Some other youtuber stopped using the line for the exact same reason. They aren't really curly girl method approved, they have beeswax or something like that in them.
