I'm taking an old Crate & Barrel console table that I got off marketplace for free and decided to give it a modern look just like the Westly Console Table from Pottery Barn. Do you think I'm up for the challenge? Can I make my free console table look like this one from Potter Barn? Watch and find out!

    Actually it was easy to see the difference between the primer and the paint when you started spraying it on. Love the color, I usually am not a fan of Cane in general but I really like this piece. Glad your back I missed seeing you transform pieces. Hope you had a great vacation and you had lots of great family time. I have to say a big THANK YOU to you. We have T 111 siding on the outside of our home and my husband always brushed the stains on. But I bought him Wagner sprayer. He wad happy and the results were awesome. All because I watch you
    Thank you so much and he wasn't on the ladder as long which is a blessing since he's 71.

    I have been wanting a miter saw for years. Now my husband is thinking about buying one to make driveway gates. I hope he makes us a set first. We have some, but they weigh a lot. He cemented in the poles he attached them to. And the pole moved in the cement. Maybe he didn’t wait long enough. But I’m going to try to get him to make some he can show people. Then I can use his miter saw to make some frames. That turned out wonderful. And you were right the cane at the bottom would have been a dust collector.

    Glad to see you! This turned out great! I usually shy away from dark to light bc it seems like its going to be too much trouble. This looks doable! Bought a sprayer and tent but they are still in the box 🤷 i need to get it out and just do it, right?? 18:54

    This looks great. So ironic that I did a similar look on 2 pieces I did for my son and girlfriend just last week with the trim on the drawers. Creative minds think alike! So funny I picked it up from Hone Depot too.

      @@ChristinaMuscari I wanted to share my pics but realized I cannot do that here. I don’t post or comment much but I do follow you and a lot of other furniture artists here. You’re always an inspiration to me. I did square coffee table and consule table very similar to the square coffee table you did. The same trim also but I used a burlap fabric for drawer fronts as I didn’t have enough cane. Cheers and happy creating!

    I am curious about when you use an all-in-one, or a paint & top coat combo -- does this provide a strong enough finish to protect the paint from scratches and chips? I have had the problem off roughing up my paint on the bottoms of furniture by bumping it with my vacuum. I just wonder because i have plans to paint my dressers but wonder if i should top coat them or if they will be safe.

    • @ChristinaMuscari
      @ChristinaMuscari  9 місяців тому

      My daughter has this paint on her dresser in her room and it's held up for several years. If you bump the furniture with a vaccuum it will eventually start chipping on you no matter what you coat it with. A topcoat is always a good investment though for. a longer lasting finish.

    Hi Christina, do you know if it's possible to either remove or lighten/darken the stain on cane? I bought a nice big lot of it from Marketplace but it's that yellowish amber sort of stain.

      Drew on Lone Fox channel has used regular wood stain to darken cane.

    Hey. I really like your projects - they're transforming outdated furniture into something modern and expensive looking. However, I'm a bit disappointed with this particular piece - the drawers are not flush anymore, and there's a big gap between the trim and the drawer front. I know you said you're not a carpenter, but, come on, Christina, you're amazing - you can do better. I believe in you and I can't wait to see your next video.

    You will learn as time goes on, that many classic, simple designs will look dated if you are into a specific aesthetic and/or trend. I'ts pretty frustrating for me. I love trends and fresh new looks, and it is annoying when you flip something, LOVE what you did, and slowly over 10-20 years you completely tire of it. 🙄🙄

    This is actually my first time disliking video on this channel. Paintjob is great as always, but carpentry is really awful, like ruining the whole piece. I have no idea why would anyone do this caning to turn a well built piece into diy hotglue kind of thing 🙈
