Flipping furniture doesn't always have to be for profit! This week I got to tackle a flip that was close to my heart! My parent's entryway table needed a little love so instead of buying a new one, I painted the one they already had! I saw one similar at Target for $250 and decided to recreate it myself! Let’s not forget, aside from saving $, it’s about sustainability. There is entirely too much throwing away going on in our world. The more we keep out of the landfills, the better for all of us.
That entry table looks very elegant now. Your mom’s face was priceless. I think she liked it! I lost my mom several years ago, watching your mom be so thankful, giving you a couple of hugs made me miss my mom. Thanks for reminding us to do nice things for your family. Great job as usual.
Looks beautiful! Something to try next time is using a nozzle on your air compressor to "dust" that cane (or baskets, screen, etc). Also, turn buttons on the underside would make the cane removable for a future remake.
I’ve also seen a ‘sand blasting’ kit that attaches to a compressor and it is used to get finishes out of crevices and corners and detail work and did a super quick job of it too! Wish I could remember the guy’s you tube channel that had it but I imagine they are not hard to find. He had a bucket of sand attached to it too.
The table really looks so good in that color; and your mom's reaction was the best. So nice of you to do that for her.
Well done! The table looks great! Ever thought of flipping your Mum’s staircase to get rid of the orange? You could paint it or stain it light walnut or lighter. Would be a great flipping idea for viewers. 😉😉

To get dust out of tight crevices, use a new, dry paint brush. Keep that brush for dusting purposes only.

I have that exact table, just a bit darker in color. I got it at the Salvation Army about 15 years ago. I have a lamp on it and loads of plants on both levels. I love mine and what you've done to your Mom's. Your work is always so relatable.
I painted that same texture that was in the front of the drawers in my pop up camper. I thought I would remove it at first, but then as I was painting it, I ended up really loving that design.

This turned out beautifully! Your Mom couldn't stop smiling! I actually had a table exactly like this one when we moved into our first home 50 years ago! I have used DB Silk line and love how smoothly it goes on. Neiman is so cute and handy too!

The table looks beautiful! I just took my table that was 45 years old and two end tables to Habitat for Humanity. They were in our formal front room for years and just like new. I needed to reduce the furniture and rightfully so but had I seen this I may have thought twice before giving them away. I wish you lived closer as I also have some white French Provincial dresser and chest of drawers that have everything attached and like new from 1965. Ugh..........funny thing is I was born in Omaha and if I was still there you could come and get them. :-( I live on the west coast now so that is a no go. It is a good thought however.

Those slats behind the table make an entryway table in front of them look out if place.
Always put the top pieces of glass on first. That way if you drop it or it falls, it will only break itself.
VACUUM THE CANE FIRST OR HARD TO GET AT SPOTS. THen paint. A tooth brush helps also.
