I never missed a single episode of Outlander, I even got friends watching the show. I record every episode and watch them again in case I miss something. I'm a guy but I find this scene to be one of the most romantic scenes. I re-watched this scene numerous times because it was so great. Omg, yes! I didn't read the books, so I didn't know in advance how the reunion was going to go.
The best love statement/declaration i've ever seen on tv is when Jaime said to Claire, "When the day shall come that we do part...if my last words are not 'I love you', ye ken it's because I didna have time."
That line brings me to tears as does “You are my home now”.

One moments that should be also very important is ahen they meet George Washington. Also, the judge Claire saves in that episode, should appear again saving some sifficult situation. Season 8 shoukd make it happen, make Claire and Jamie interact with those two

I was dying with anticipation at their reunion in this scene. And when Jamie fainted I laughed so hard. It's a pretty realistic reaction though.
I squeeled, quite loudly apparently. Husband came in to see if I'd seen a giant spider or the roof had fallen.

It must be so fulfilling for everyone on set once they realise they executed a highly anticipated moment. This really is THE event of the whole series in my opinion. Its wasn't overdone or overacted which made it feel all the more like an authentic reaction.
I agree it was probably the high point, but I think all of the time-travel unions/reunions were huge moments where the show's mettle was tested. Like, is this a joke, or are we really supposed to believe this? And I have to say, I think they earned the right to be taken seriously.
It needs to be stated that the soundtrack for this scene was exquisite in combination with the direction and Catriona Balfe’s performance. I can watch this over and over again watching Claire’s anticipation and excitement.

Scarred physically and emotionally I felt unworthy of love and physical affection. The great thing they did with this reunion... showing it from both sides. That was such a nice touch for one of the biggest moments of the series.

Thinking about the length of 20 years. I was in love with someone who moved across the country for a job and I haven’t seen him since. I still think about him occasionally. The heart always remembers.

In the book Jamie passed out when he reached out and touch Claire. He said she came to him often in the past but when he was able to touch her he realized she was real🥰 it’s been such a long time since I read these books. Over a decade. But I still remember the scenes in my mind. Unfortunately I haven’t watched any of the series.

@@cjh516 Honestly I’m scared the series will ruin it for me. A lot of times when they make a book into a movie or series it isn’t the same for a person that read the book. I may give it a try. Once I found a bridge version of the book on audio at a used book store and bought it. I was so upset because I realized it was a shorten version of the book and the missing parts bothered me. I donated it back to the used book store🤣

I love how for a second she stops at the door fixing her hair like you do when you are about to see someone after a very long time and you have a moment of uncertainty, will they recognise me, will they still love me, will they still want me in their life? Amazing.

I was getting butterflies in my stomach as she got closer. Started breathing heavier as she was inside getting closer. Then that moment that she heard his voice, I legit started crying. Her face and eyes lit up as if terrified and ecstatic all at once. When he fainted though I lost it lol.

I have seen this so many times and I still get giddy for their reunion every time I see it.
This is such a timeless story. I devoted the books when they first came out. When my daughter became an adult I was able to introduce her to the TV series and she Loves it as much as I do. It’s a rare thing to enjoy something with another generation. I thank Diana and the show runners for allowing me to do that. I wonder if my daughter will introduce it to my Granddaughter when she is older? I bet she will Love it as we do.

My first love came back into my life after 30 years, when I opened my front door to him, he said he felt like that. We’ve been back together now for more than 10 years. He never stopped loving me, so wonderful.

The sign of a true actor is that you feel they're actually another person Sam and Catriona as well as the other cast members DO this. Watch all the background actors really look at costumes and scenery listen to the music. It is absolutely outstanding altogether!!

I'm 62 my daughter and myself watched and yes I cried my daughter had read the books but I can't read because of I don't see well , but I watched outlander never missed it I have to sit close but this episode my daughter knew what happened and she watched me and my reaction . Yes she laughed but when it finished we watched it again . What a beautiful scene to watch this handsome figure of a man just hit the floor after seeing the one he loves come back to him even if he thought she was a ghost . I was waiting for him to fall in the piss pot, like the book said. I cried when I read this scene in the book. It was so touching when he was looking at the pictures and how it describe he broke down and cried. Such a touching scene.

By far my favourite scene of all time so far.
This series is life !! I haven't read all the books BUT the moment Claire opens the door, I think I was ready for the waterworks. The music on this show sets up everything for you perfect example is the first episode of season 5.
I've watched this scene for countless times and would still fell the same, if not even more so, IN LOVE.
They both had been completely miserable for 20 years, living as a shell of themselves for the sake of their children. Now they finally get to live again as whole people in the brightness of day after being in the dark for so long. They deserved this.
Well, that's adorable. Also, given that their first meeting involved Jamie toppling off his horse: somewhat fitting.
I'm half expecting him to get himself bloodied up or beaten up within the next 24 hours, just for tradition's sake.

I completely agree with this statement. I fluctuate with which is better. Last Kingdom is consistently great.....whereas Outlander fluctuates 90% of the time greatest show ever and 10% of the time, hokey (I.e. final half of Season 3)

@@eccremocarpusscaber5159 I went to my 20th High school reunion (centuries ago). The guy who was the cutest guy in the school was very paunchy, nearly bald, and sloppy-assed drunk before dinner even arrived, moaning about his third divorce. All that in just 20 yrs. No pride there.
On the other hand, the guy who was the bad boy, nearly got expelled a couple of times, rode a motorcycle and wore his hair too long (that was a thing back then), was gorgeous, healthy and smart-alec happy. He'd have made the perfect Scottish smuggler.

My favorite is where she tells him she's not a witch. LOL, even thinking of the expression on his face when he asks, so politically correctly, if she's a witch! Then she tells him what she IS, he's just blank. He was raised to believe in witches, not time travelers.
