If you want to truly understand the Legacy of the Lear 23, You only have to look at two things ... #1 is a gentleman named Clay Lacey. Clay, in addition to being the premier FBO at the Van Nuys Airport in Clownifornia for many decades (still exists today), he used a modified Learjet (not a 23 model) to video all of the aerobatic and dog fight scenes for the original Top Gun movie. #2 Clay also sold a Lear 23 to one of the most famous entertainers during the decades from the 1940's onward. His name is Frank Sinatra. The call letters of that Lear 23 are N175FS. Frank's ownership of that plane was during the period when he was dating Mia Farrow which spawned such hit songs as Fly Me To The Moon and Come Fly With Me. These Clay Lacy / Learjet legacy decades span multiple American cultures that even continue today. BTW, In 1984 I married the Line Girl that worked for Clay's FBO during the 70's. We are still married today after 39 years.
