With zero prior aviation experience, in October 2021, I watched two of Stevie’s videos and got totally hooked! She was having a friggin blast. Today I have 500 hours and an instrument rating. All started by Stevie!
Started in August at age 51 at zero experience. At 56 hours currently working on my instrument. I used Stevie’s videos to get comfortable with flight following! My instructor for primary was impressed with my radio work the first xc. THANKS STEVIE!
"Both my airplanes" @ your age.. What an impressive young lady. The way you fly on your own and so calm and professional. I hope you inspire other young people.
That's AWESOME!!!! I hope you have so much fun - best decision I ever made! And major respect for you being a truck driver & owning your truck at such a young age! 🙌
You just have to have PLACES to GO...(which is why I stopped...didn't have places to go...even though I've been to 48 of the 50 and most of Canada...not to mention all over planet)
@chris , yes I’m 25 years old! Wrote that wrong……. It was brutal getting to where I am Lots of learning……. I realized aviation is just like trucking. Same set of regulations! FMCSA and FAA. Watching @bayflight made me realize that if I can start a transportation business at my age I can get my own private plane and license as well! Can’t wait to start this hobby!
Stevies face when she saw Graham was beautiful. The way it lit up. I noticed when they were making fun of one another also. It’s nice to see that love.
You know you are loved by your industry when even ATC picks out your voice in a crowded airspace. Dude literally sounded like a little kid when he said , "Stevie?!" @7:28
I flew with my 21 year old daughter to Osh while you were there. She flew left seat, and I was passenger. She was perfect in the conga line. It was beautiful. Got home from AirVenture. Then, I rode with my 18 year old son on Harleys to the Sturgis rally. Both kids have skills. You are like them. Skilled and positive. I enjoyed your video.
I've had the good fortune of flying many Cessna models from 140, 150, 152, 172, 177, 180, 185, 206, 208, 310, 414, CE 500.... My two favorites of all time if I could never fly anything else would be the C140 and C180. I really love watching you cross the US in the 140. Speed is not important, but the experience and view is priceless. Safe travels Stevie.
From a lapsed-license UK pilot. This was absolutely charming to watch, that 140 is beautiful. If flying in the UK was anything like the US I'd have kept it up. Watching this makes me consider FAA qualification.
Hi Stevie, I am so impressed with how well you fly the C140, you have nailed every landing and obviously have those 3 pointers sorted. I have owned and flown a C170 and C195 and those early Cessnas will set you up for any taildragger going forward. As a vintage myself with over 30 000 hours (more than 20 000 on the B747 and 5000 taildraggers, mostly DC3) I have to admit to being totally impressed with everything you do on your channel, flying and editing, you really are a consummate professional. Well done young lady.
I’m going through getting my ppl and you’ve been a huge role model. Just wanted to say thank you I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. All the best and of course fly safe!
I have shown my Mom your channel. She was the VP of a Avionics Company in the STL Area (she secured the only Garmin Dealership in the area) when I was growing up many years ago. I attended many Air Shows and went Flying A Lot during/over the years, including Good Ol’ Lamberts Cafe because of her Job & Connections. She has been Impressed with your Channel (and the fact the you Fly a Bonanza V-Tail) and is living vicariously through you because she had planned to get her Pilots License until a Drunk Driver ended that Goal of hers when she was in her Late 20’s. Love those Dark Blue & White Colors on that Plane! Keep Up the Great Content!
What a beautiful sunset and flight! Reminds of the times my father and I would fly 172’s over Tennessee, Illinois, and Wisconsin. It’s been 40 years since I last went to Oshkosh. Would love to go again, and see your 140 if you’re there…
That was awesome Stevie, the Sunset 🌇 and the Smooth Landing were totally worth the ride, thank you. The background music is amazing!! Take care, be safe 🙏
New Century airport is technically near Gardner, KS, if I'm not mistaken, rather than Olathe. I lived in Olathe for 15 years (less than a mile from Garmin HQ) and would have loved to drive the 10 minutes that it takes to get from my old house out to New Century to say hello. Thanks for letting us fly along with you, Stevie!
Thank you for your determination, dedication and professionalism when flying. I just watched TNGRL flights from day 1 , she never was truly piloting, chasing clout and not understanding the full scope of her plane caused her to drop 11,400 ft / min at almost 275 mph I wish everyone would watch your videos Your focus is second to none, you dont ever get behind the plane, your understanding of aeronautics is 1st Class. Very happy to see you enjoying yourself and im confident in your abilities to weather any storm , always blue skies and always a light tailwind! Thank you for being an inspiration to many !
I never heard about TNFLY GIRL until her crash on Juan Brown. I watched about 4 of her videos and realized she didn't understand pitch and power or her autopilot.
@@dalereed3950 for someone who had over 500 hours it was as if her fist time out each time. Great, isn't it. I mean this in the nicest possible way... there is something about the shots from the underwing camera that make me think of the Thunderbirds puppet Sci-Fi TV series. Of course Stevie bears no resemblance to Alan, Virgil, Jeff, Scott, or Gordon. They wore military cadet style caps! 😜 (Not sure that the series ever made it to the US.)
Almost finished going through my ATPL exams and watching your vids is satisfying my flying cravings, aha. Can’t wait to fly again and finish my training some time this year.
I think it's so cool that you stopped in Wichita and highlighted Stearman Field. Cool airport Restaurant/Bar there. You should stop in K50 sometime near my house. Cute little private airfield with residential hangars along the taxiway.
I got my ppl out of kixd right next to signature is kilo Charlie. And that lady is my favorite controller!! What a small world to hear it on your UA-cam!
Watching your flights, hearing the procedure run throughs and the radio communications bring back fond memories of my time in service and being able to fly then even as just a crew. I wear a smile the whole video. Thank you for bringing those memories back to life.
Enjoyed this playlist, live in Payson Arizona and the local airport (KPAN) has a lot of tail draggers fly in usually Thursday and thru Saturday. This time of year, have a lot of wildland firefighting aircraft assigned/staged here as well.
Love your videos! Life sadly got in the way of my PPL training in my 20's but you've inspired me to try and gain my PPL before I turn 40 next year! Can't wait to watch your part 5!
Hi Stevie! Your videos have been coming across my feed lately, and have really enjoyed watching your content! I work for the railroad currently, which has been my passion ever since I was a kid, and I must say the aviation world is definitely different compared to what I’m used to! I used to do a little ramp control at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Int’l at my previous job, and I still don’t get the lingo! I’ve enjoyed watching your videos, and I hope to learn a little more about the aviation world! Keep on flying!!
Good to see you living the dream, I sold my 1947 C-140 a couple of years ago, after owning it 30+ years; but I still have a 1953 D-35 Bonanza, I bought back in 1985 (be safe)
Hi Stevie what a fantastic video again thanks, you looked so proud and happy when you mentioned both aircraft are here. Also very cool how atc are getting to know you must make you so happy?.Thanks again for sharing with us take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Beautiful! Nothing quite as nice as a twilight landing. Stellar landing, as usual. It may be flat in KS, but that sunset was spectacular! Graham totally missed out on your wing rock... Be safe! 🎄
I always look forward to your videos. I got my PPL a couple years ago and listening to your radio work helps keep me from sounding like a goofball on the radio, well mostly 😂
Fantastic video! Amazing approach into Kansas City. Love that time of day between the Golden Hour and Evening Blue Hour. Stunning colors! My favorite time to break out the camera gear. Who said slow doesn't have it's perks? Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure with us. Be safe and keep dreaming and flying!
Nice to see the Bo again. I was starting to wonder... Me and a buddy are going in together on our first aircraft purchase. Lordy, trying to buy a plane is work -- at least for the first time. Keep 'em coming Stevie. Really cool that so many people know your tail number and say "Hi!"
I really enjoy all of your videos! It is so refreshing to see someone of your generation being so humble about their success. You are a credit to the aviation community the way you handle yourself at all times in the cockpit. My daughter's boyfriend just got his license on Halloween. It is just his first step, he wants to fly commercially for the airlines. I can't wait to see the arrival of the two planes at Oshkosh!
Love your new lighting system Stevie. The airplane is easily seen, and consequently safer by an order of magnitude...oh, and your design sense, supported by your tech/mech folks executed a wonderful resto job on the 140 (except for the glove box of course, just messing with you) :)
The airport at Liberal,Ks was an Army airfield in WWII it had long runways and taxiways. After being trained pilots picked up their Liberator there. In the 60's Beech aircraft built the Beech Debonair and I think the Musketeer/Sundowner in Liberal where the museum is now. If the wind would have been out of the south your landing at Jabara would have been simple as you would have cruised in across the north part of the City and landed on R18, no other airports to dodge or worry about. Funny how even air traffic control mispronounces the airport name Jabara. It's actually pronounced Ja-bear-a. Most people in Wichita mispronounce it too! Great video!! Very nice 140 and beautiful panel!
Stevie, first of all, your videos are amazing! The way you edit the videos and also the video quality itself are very good as well (in contrast to many others). I hope to start with my PPL training this year, somewhere in the upcoming months, and I was wondering which camera you use for your footage. I assume it's a GoPro but which one specifically? I would like to have quality footage of my lessons. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work! :) ps Eventually I dream of having my own plane and I'm very curious what total cost are, from buying to maintenance to operational cost. Maybe a nice idea to make a video about this?
The 140 sure is pretty, but I always liked V tails. And the extra speed(g). A bright young woman with TWO airplanes! You must be doing something right. Hsppy holidays.
Stevie, well how about that. I fly out of KIXD! How awesome to see my home airport. The controller you had is one of the best in the business. Thanks for all you do, and for sharing your adventures with us all! You are a breath of fresh air in aviation and an inspiration to so many. Happy Holidays!!!
KIXD was a great stop and the controllers were fantastic! Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching the latest video! Happy Holidays to you as well! 🎄
I know nothing about aviation other than some distant memory of being taught in science class about the Bernoulli effect. But you make watching aviation videos very entertaining and informative. Nice job.
As an enlisted airman stationed at Nellis 67 to 71 I managed to get a commercial, inst., multi, A and P. My first flying job co pilot/ mechanic on Merlin 2A. We came out of MKE on a hot humid day going to York, Pa. Visibility hazy and about a mile. NDB was a mile or so from airport, my job call airport in sight. Two executives in the back, on roll out we see “welcome to York drag way”, grandstands on both sides. Bob (a seasoned pilot) says to me “where are we working tomorrow”? What we missed were a few small planes on the approach end, Approach plate stated “airport used as drag strip some weekends”. Love your series Stevie
I've lived in York, Pa. most of my life. Definitely remember going to the drags on hot summer nights when in high school. Now that I'm retired, I spend a fair amount of time on nice days at KTHV spotting aircraft.
Happy to see 21charlie again! My friend who is a retired Southwest pilot and I plan to attend Oshkosh 2025. It would be awesome to meet you and Graham if you guys are able to attend.
Just another person wanting to let you know how much I enjoy and appreciate your videos. Thank you so much for your time and effort in putting these together. Have a lovely Christmas and fly safe.
Love the videos. It's definitely become a goal to get my license. Not sure when I'll be able to, but watching these videos keeps my determination high to make it happen!
Thank you for being such a positive role model for young pilots today. I love it that both of your wonderful aircraft were manufactured in my hometown. Safe travels.
When you had said you were in Wichita, I was wondering if you were going to stop by New Century! I live in Olathe (Garmin HQ); hope you enjoyed your short stay.
