It was Padme reaching out to Anakin through Luke. He had all of her qualities like Leia had Anakins, but here we are..
Mark and Luke both deserved better than the sequels, so did the entire sequel cast. Legends treated the character much better, like it did with all other original trilogy characters

I’m honestly okay with Luke feeling/being treated like a failure as a teacher. Watching him train Kyp Durron, or pretty much any of his early apprentices, it’s a miracle that only a single star system was destroyed
I think a hero coming to terms with failure can be well done. My issue was just him dying without doing anything

iKR! ngl I loved the last jedi all the over the top and zipping side quest and twist and turns and plot holes are tbh actually very consistent with the Space Opera theme of George's Star Wars
@@SWFT_edits wrong! Luke from the sequels has nothing to do with the Luke from ot! Luke from the sequels let fear control him and he gave up, cut himself off from the Force. You think that the same Luke who turned his own father back to the light would've fallen that deep into fear and self doubt? Fear from his own nephew mind you? Completely out of touch with the OT. Luke did fall into darkness at one point on Legends and it was Leia who guided him back to the light side. Here all we see is Luke bowing down to make way for Rey

Perfect you captured the skywalker story amazingly.
As a film major, it is incredibly rare for me to like the main character of a movie/series and this is the only movie where Luke is the top 3 best Star Wars characters
Amazing video! I love how you show the poetry of star wars and Lukes story arc. Can you do a tribute for Leia? Would love to see one showing her journey from a Princess, to General and then to Jedi Master teaching Rey. A video showing Palpatines rise to power would be epic as well!

@@SWFT_edits Omg im so excited❤, I hope to see the Leia one soon. To me she is like the loving heart of the saga. I was happy very to see that they still had enough footage of her for Epi 9 to honor her and to fullill the promise of her getting trained by luke after he revealed to her in Epi 6 that she has the same connection to the force being one of the skywalker twins and yoda stating that she was the other hope for the light side if luke failed. I tear up everytime I watch that last hug with her and rey and seeing chewie crying😭. The paplatine video should show how much of a mastermind he is and how he becomes the most powerful dark lord of the sith. Im now subscribed to your channel.😊
@@reginamills2168 I have a really busy couple of weeks here irl right now so probably not that soon but I'm gonna begin work on it soon anyway! :) I've had plans to do Leia for a while so I rewatched the Rebels episodes she's in and I watched the entire saga for this tribute meaning I don't need to rewatch anything so it'll be quicker. Love her character as well!
Probably gonna be a while for the Palpatine one because I also do stuff for other franchises but I may begin to prepare for that soon! Yeah and whether people want to admit it or not the canon version of Luke was much more realistic than legends like of course he'll want to stop training more after what happened with Ben and be so depressed cause it's different than Anakin and Obi Wan it's his nephew HIS NEPHEW GUYS

This tribute is already perfect and still my most favorite of yours, but was curious if you thought of slightly updating it with a few quick clips from episode 6 of book of boba of him training grogu , I think it would be a cherry on top of a already perfect video. I will probably just make a new one for Luke alltogether soon. I don't have the files for this anymore and I think I can do better as I've improved a lot since this.
As for Yoda and Leia, I might hold on until the Obi-Wan show for Leia and Yoda is something I'll probably do soon, I just need to rewatch a lot of Clone Wars for that.
I'll always not view someone's edits from Star Wars. Its like looking at the world through someone else's eyes.
I'm so happy of the community that just enjoys the story, conflict, and tragedy. The people who pull the best from Star Wars and doesn't look at the bad.

Beautiful! If you ever update this video (and you should) please consider this. In the first part (when obi wan tell the story of luke's father) put scenes where vader's face is hide by his hood, and not reveal he is anakin yet :)

Yeah there's plenty of scenes but there's not really much depth to either of their characters rn. They're really cool but hard to make a character tribute for as of now. I could make a more stylish tribute to some song perhaps.

It would've been a good tribute, if you hadn't included "the Luke that WAS GOING TO MURDER HIS OWN NEPHEW". Luke would NEVER kill his own nephew in his sleep. He didn't even kill Darth Vader. Sorry, but it's sad you used that footage of the murderous Luke.

The reason they used Anakin's is because that brings Luke's arc in the film to a close, since at the start he throws it away.

@@SWFT_edits Agreed. I don't mind the message and story of the Canto Bight part. It just felt out of place somehow. Like an uninteresting detour to the much more interesting stuff going on with Rey and Poe, minus the war-profiteers part (which is an obvious allegory to real life). I did like that tiny part of it... Also Phasma is a dud -.-
